Here are my girls in front of the #7 Arkansas Razorback stadium!!!!
(I'm pretty sure this is a framer!)
I know the good majority of you who read here are moms - but so many of you aren't. Or you are "older" moms or working moms or whatever. I know you would like to find more blogs "like you". So over the next few months - I will do a series of "connecting" link ups. Where hopefully you can find bloggers in your same stage of life or maybe even that live near you? I'd love to have your ideas on others we can do - I have all the topics listed on my left side but if you have any other ideas - please let me know.
I got a request to do a link up for moms of only children. There are many of you who may have just one child by choice or just by circumstance and it would be nice to talk to other moms on what that is like. My husband is an only child and so is my best friend Laurie. I honestly thought for a while that Harper would be an only child but we got surprised!!
So if you blog - and you have just one child and think it will stay that way - please link up and I hope y'all can be good resources to each other.
You don't have to necessarily do a blog post for this one - just link up your blog.
And now I'm thinking of other ways to connect:
Moms of big families (maybe 4 or more kids?)
Single moms
Military wives/moms
Ministry wives/moms
I've been saying forever that I was going to try and keep Harper in a crib until she was in kindergarten. And I still halfway wish I could. She's never been a great sleeper and I'm just afraid this is going to make things worse. We are having trouble with her staying on her mat at MDO (she SURE won't take a nap there) so I'm afraid it will be the same way with a big girl bed. And locks, childproof knobs, baby gates - nothing can contain that girl - she can work them all. BUT she has been very interested in her friends' big beds and I think the time is coming.
So I'm starting to plan out her big girl room. I think for her birthday in a little over 2 months - it will be time to fix it up. I'm using Pinterest to help me plan out my ideas. Her room is chocolate brown and I don't want to paint over that so I'm just going to keep that and add in light pinks and grays. I'm hoping to make it cute and girly. Here are some of my ideas (just things for inspiration - not actual things I plan to buy):
I saw your post regarding people guest posting on your blog about why they chose to sponsor their Compassion kids. I have three Compassion kids, but one of them has a particularly incredible story. I've already written about it on my own blog, and on Compassion's blog, but I'd love to post about it again! The short of it is that I had a dear friend who passed away in Afghanistan last year, and weeks after he died, I saw a little boy online who shared his first and middle names. I ended up going on a sponsor tour this past August and was able to meet my little boy on the one year anniversary of my friend's death. You can read the story onCompassion's blog or here on my blog (www.ashleywritesagain.

Who likes to save money????
I do!!!
Today is all about coupon tips, sharing your favorite coupon sites and best ways to share money.
So share away and let's hope we all pay less at the store this week, month, year!!!
Thank you for all the amazing comments and tons of email you have sent me about yesterday's post. Clearly the majority of us struggle with worry. I hope we can all work together on giving that worry over to God. I like to have a mental picture of packing it all in a box and just putting it in His big hands.
I just feel a load lifted already!
So if you read this blog often - you know we do a little "Show Us Your Life" Friday. The themes are all over the place but we have done three "Singles" days - where it's like a little Bloggy Style Match.com. It started as just kind of something I thought might be fun and turned into something only God can do! Two couples met and are married and one more couple got engaged this past weekend! I want to share this not because I deserve any credit for this happening but because I want to give hope to all of you reading this thinking it's NEVER going to happen for you - God can bring someone to you even through something crazy like a boring mom's blog! TRUST and OBEY!!!
