Sunday

I wanted to give you a little glimpse at my future Miss Arkansas!
These are the best pictures we have of her right now because we have to be careful not to stimulate her by touching her or talking too loud or using a flash. We will get a MILLION pictures of her once she gets good and healthy - but for now we just want her to get well.
We think she is the most precious thing we've ever seen. I love her so much. I just can't wait for the day I can hold her and sing to her and feed her and dress her and play with her!

I'm sorry we are just now getting an update to you. My parents and I got to Tulsa about 5 yesterday. We were immediately greeted by a sweet couple who live in the area and had read my blog and had been in our situation and just wanted to comfort us and let us know they were thinking of us - they brought us a big bag of snacks and magazines and necessities. We took their picture but I'm having technical difficulties. Kuykendalls - thank you so much! Our Sunday School teachers came and sat with Scott most of the day yesterday and brought us a lot of things to help us as well. That was such a comfort to Scott.
And then out popped my blog friend Caroline and her mother! They had driven from Dallas all the way to see me. I had always hoped we would meet in real life one day and never dreamed it would be this way but we were so blessed to have them come and it just gave us a HUGE lift. (I am SOOOOOOOOO swollen from all the fluids I was given and from crying for the last 2 days - so excuse the way I look) (not that it matters).
We have had SO many people who have read my blog and are in the area bring us flowers and letters and cards and just give us encouragment. You hopefully know who you are and I hope to thank you somehow. We are overwhelmed with the outreach of so many people. I haven't had a chance to read all of my comments and e-mails. I may not respond to you right now but I want you to know that we have cried a thousand tears over how much each and every word of encouragment and prayer has meant to us. Know that we are SO eternally grateful. We would never be able to bear this if we didn't know we were covered in prayer.

We are waiting to hear from the doctor today and I will let you know what he says. Right now she is still stable but in VERY critical condition. They think she could be having heart issues. We may have a very long road ahead of us but we believe that God is going to heal our baby and He is going to use her in a very mighty way. We know God says in the Bible that when two or more agree in His name - He will answer. And we know we have 2 or 3oo,ooo people praying for us. Our prayer is that all who pray for Harper will see God's might and power and His love in the miracle we know He is going to do for us.

We love you all - whether we know you or not. Please keep praying.

I am so new to your blog -- I only found it with the link that Big Mama posted this weekend. But, your baby is darling, and her first pictures look EXACTLY like our son's first pictures -- a mess of jumbled tubes and wires. We spent 12 days in NICU, and all went very, very well. I know that we've never met, but I've been praying for you, because this situation is so similar to the one we went through 8 years ago, so it is very close to my own heart. God is faithful.

Congratulations for giving birth to the love of your life. Nothing else can compare to being a mother. My heart breaks for you having to begin your journey this way. I can truely say I understand what you are going through. My baby girl is 6 weeks old and has been hospitalized 22 out of her 44 days on this earth. She was intubated for 10 days and she's still not out of the woods yet. It is a parents worst nightmare and there's no way we could understand, but we know that we serve a Miracle-Working God and if it wasn't for the power of prayer and Jesus holding our hands, we wouldn't be standing now. I will pray for strength for your family and baby Harper.

Kelly-Ms. Harper is precious! Oh my word, she's so big! I love it! She's so beautiful and like someone else said, the most beautiful prayer request ever. Thank you so much for taking the time to update. Though we don't know one another, I've been watching for updates the past 24 hours on Ms. Harper. I'm so thankful that you are in such good hands right now. Please remember, as hard as it is right now, that during rough times like this, you have to take care of yourself as well as Ms. Harper. Try to get as much rest as you can and be sure to eat a little something as well. Ms. Harper needs her Mommy (and Daddy too!) strong so she can fight for her.
I'm still constantly praying for you and your family during this time.
Looking forward to more updates!

You little girl is so very beautiful. I just want you to know that people in far away Alaska have heard about your sweet child and are praying for your family. My favorite verse: "But Jesus lookes at them and siad to them, With men this is impossible, but with God ALL things are possible." Matthew 19:26
Yes, the context of this verse speaks to salvation, but the simple words of Jesus as he spoke to His disciples have always reminded me that God is in control and that, because of His great love for us, nothing, NOTHING is impossible.

Kelly, I found your blog through Angie's and just wanted to offer some encouragement. Our daughter Stella started having problems at one month of age and we were told she would live "weeks, maybe months" because she has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type I (SMA). We went home with heavy hearts with noone giving us an ounce of hope. We had to find it on our own and were soon surrounded by people praying around the clock for our very weak little girl. I basically am writing not to tell you all about us but to encourage you because Stella is 22 months old!! She's still weak but her fight is strong and the struggles we have endured are a blessing in disguise. We have been through very deep valleys of seeing her struggle for life, only to be lifted up to the mountaintops and being sent home. Fear not, for God is with you. You are very sweet and we appreciate your story and will keep you in thought and prayer. Enjoy that baby girl! I can't wait until you can hold her and feed her. Just a precious time with mommy and baby girl!
Hugs, Sarah and Stella www.caringbridge.org/visit/stellaturnbullturnbull

She is absolutely beautiful!!! We have been praying like crazy for Harper and all of you. I just wanted to add a verse that has really helped me during hard and scary times. It's from Psalm 46...the entire chapter is amazing, but here is the first verse: "
God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

God is listening to all of our prayers. He is taking care of your sweet baby girl!

When our daughter was six weeks old we almost lost her to Salmonella. She began treatment at our hosptial in Mississippi then sent to LeBonheur in Memphis. We had people all over the country praying for her that we didn't even know. She recovered completly and it was only because of God and how he used the physicians and nurses. I can truly say that I've been where you are and know what you are going through. God is good...he will sustain you. I'm praying for your family.
