The Land of a Million Smiles

Thanks for sharing your camp stories with me! If you went to Siloam between 1991 - 1994 then I probably sold you a coke at the snack shack or gave you your mail at the office or helped you in the first aid station or gave you clubs at the putt putt place.

We had a lot of fun tonight. We met my parents for dinner at Marketplace - yum! I gave my mom her birthday present. (I'm sorry I didn't get my dad in this picture).

And mom gave us more baby presents. I have a feeling this will be a never ending stream of baby things she will keep buying. Do you think she is excited?
We were off to Siloam. My friend who was the pastor is Doug Compton. Sorry Doug - I had to post this picture because it is so you!!! Amy is so cute - she is due with their second little boy in September - little Lane. They already have the CUTEST little boy, Levi.
Here we are with the Comptons. It was so great to be back at camp and it's always a great time of worship at the service. Doug did a great job preaching and they had great worship music. It made me want to be a teenager all over again. Well - okay - maybe not!

Ya'll picked me out of that staff picture. I didn't know if you would recognize me with that huge dark hair but there I was.

I was going to comment on your last post about Siloam being the land of a million smiles! One year my church came from "miles and miles" to Siloam and we loved it! I worked at Kanakuk (not a great experience for me. I don't like to be hot and I don't really like sports. I'm not sure why I thought I wanted to work at a camp except that I always loved camp!) I also loved Glorietta. I think it's neat that you had such a connection at Siloam. I think I was there in 1992 and Aunt Laura was one of the counselors. Ask her about it sometime, it was QUITE the experience for her first time at youth camp. Our church was gifted at that time with some real high maintence youth and chaperones!

Gotta love the baby stuff!

I'm glad you had a good time with your mom and your friends!! And, yes, I bet you will get a never ending supply of baby goodies from your mom. That's what grandma's are for!!

Oh, yes...our mamas and their baby gifts. Mother STILL has this thing where she has to bring each of our girls something EVERY TIME she sees them. We're running out of room! Not to mention that it's training the girls to expect a gift from everyone they see. :0)

How funny! We went to Marketplace tonight, too. I remember Doug from OBU. I'm glad you got to catch up. Have you been signing your Siloam songs to Scott??? :)

That sounds like so much fun, Kelly! I always went to church camp every year from like 3rd grade all the way to high school. Those are such great memories! Working at camp during the summer would be the best college job ever!! And I totally picked you out in the picture! You still have the same cute face. :)

Your mom is so sweet. I know she is having so much fun buying baby gifts. I can't wait to be a grandma and get to do that!!

Glad ya'll had a good time! Your friend looks like a fun youth pastor!

My mom did the exact same thing - gave me little baby presents every time she saw me. It was great fun for both of us. Hilariously, I think she got us that same outfit/sleeper with the yellow duck. Also, we got that blanket and now my daughter LOVES it - so so soft. What fun!

How fun! I loved church camp! We always went to Bogg Springs in Mena.

Later in high school we went to Super Summer at OBU. It had just started. Have you ever heard of it? It is a church camp like no other.

Thanks for taking me down memory lane. I recognized more OBU folks in the pic than I expected. I made my first OBU friend there as we were both going to be freshman...sandra scucchi. And I'm sure you sold us both a coke...tee hee!

how fun to get to see the compton's and a bonus to hear doug preach. But my questions is did you take your pillow to sit on?? I just remember those uncomfortable benches from the old tabernacle...and oh...what about the tree in the cafeteria??

okay, on that group picture, other than you, kerry chandler-stickney, melissa taylor-gresham, brad green, mark darr, robbie ? courtney's sister that married Eric Bonifint... Gyella maybe? and then a EEE on the top left, but can't remember her name? Isn't that crazy I know so many? Loved this pic of Amy and Doug, didn't know they were expecting again. Also I thought Dusty Raily worked at Siloam a lot of summers?
