Ask Kelly

I get so many DM's daily asking me questions.  And I love answering them but I thought since a lot of them are similar that I would try and answer some of my most asked questions.  And maybe every once in a while I can do a post answering more of these!

WHAT LIPSTICK DO YOU WEAR?

Maybelline Matte Ink in Seductress.  It stays on ALL DAY!

WHAT ARE YOU DOING FOR A QUIET TIME?

I just finished "Job" by Lisa Harper and it was incredible.  But I'm reading the Bible through chronologically through the You version app.  They do the reading plan for you and it makes it so easy.  I'm behind because I was doing my Bible study for a while instead but I love how they make a plan for you on the app.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR SHIRT?

I get asked often about what I'm wearing.  So here are some recent shirts I had on recently that I got asked about.

This blouse is from Zara.  Y'all know my deep love for Zara!

I had this on the other day and got a ton of questions.  It's Free People and I got it on sale at Dillards.  I can't find it anywhere except one place and it's way higher than what I paid.  But it IS a cute top!

I'M COMING TO BENTONVILLE - WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE THINGS TO DO/EAT/VISIT/SHOP?

I wrote a post that has all my favorite things so I could share it anytime anyone asks!!! And if you visit- you have to report back about how your visit was!! I love hearing!

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PODCASTS?

'

This is a glimpse into my weekly listens............

WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE BLOGGING?

I had a degree in Business.  I worked for a bank out of college for a year while I decided what to do.  I had planned to get my MBA and backed out at the last minute.  I worked for Walmart at the Home office as an analyst for 7 years.  Then I worked for Black & Decker selling tools to Walmart as an analyst and a category manager for 6 years.  I also worked for Leapfrog toys doing similar things for a year.  Now I work part time for a non profit ministry.  I've had my blog for 13 years!

HOW DO YOU KEEP UP WITH HOUSEKEEPING?

NOT WELL! :-)

I don't have a house cleaner.  It's me.  ha! I try to pick up daily.  I always start the morning by cleaning the kitchen, putting away dishes, and starting a load of laundry.  All beds are made also.  I rarely leave the house without all of that done.  Even if I'm just doing carline and coming back home. The kids are pretty good about helping pick up daily.  I usually try to find one day a week that I can spend a few hours cleaning bathrooms, dusting, mopping and vacuuming.  If I have a busy week - I will try to do one major chore or one room a day and spread it out.  Basically - it's just constant cleaning and I never feel like I get it clean enough!

WILL YOU EVER GO BACK TO DARK HAIR?

This is my natural color.  I love when I had dark and long hair.  The problem is that my hair is 100% gray/white and has been since I was about 24.  I have gone blond over the years to hide the gray better.  6 years ago I went back dark and LOVED it but what I didn't love is the white started showing after about a week and it shows up so much worse on dark hair.  So it's just easier for me to be blond. So I will probably be blond until the grave.  But maybe one day I will get a crazy hair and go dark again.

HOW DO I FIND A CHURCH WHERE I CAN MAKE REAL FRIENDS - NOT JUST SUNDAY ACQUAINTANCES?

That's a great question.  And the answer is - it's going to take work.  You can't just show up on Sundays and fill a pew and expect to make connections.  You have to get involved.  My #1 suggestion is SERVE! Help in the preschool area.  Help greet.  Look on the website/bulletin/emails and find where they need help.  Every church needs volunteers.  That's been the best way for me to meet people.  Also - join a small group and/or Bible Studies.  I KNOW how hard it is to try and be the one who initiates - but do it! Ask someone to coffee or lunch to get to know them.  It's worth it!

I will hopefully do this again soon and answer more questions!!
