Scripture Coming Alive to Me Lately

This is the day that the Lord has made - let us REJOICE and be GLAD in it!
Psalm 118:24
But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life. John 4:14

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6

Every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1:17

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105

You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:2

The king is enthralled by your beauty; honor him, for he is your lord. Psalm 45:11
Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful!!! Hebrews 10:23
Blessed is she who has believed that what the Lord has said to her will be accomplished! Luke 1:45

The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.
Psalm 126:3

Wonderful! Sometimes I get so down after going through all of this IVF mess. Sometimes I feel as if it is just me...that God has somehow forgotten...but I know that is NOT true! He is there...He is able...I just have to trust Him!

My favorite verse comes from the Message

James 4: 10-14
I've learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.

Amen! Just had to say we honeymooned and stayed at the Westin in Hawaii too! Wasn't that the most beautiful hotel ever!! I just loved walking into the lobby and having it all open. We actually got to go back and stay there 6 years afterwards. Our little one came with us but so did my-in-laws for babysitting! : )

Such a wonderful way to look at scripture and apply it to everyday life. It's easy to sometimes overlook all the "small" blessings in our lives. Thanks for the reminder, Kelly! Again, Harper is SO beautiful and so are you, both inside and out! :-)

What great verses! I especially loved Luke 1:45. I wrote you nine months ago and told you that I was pregnant and you could change my prayer request to a praise on your prayer blog. I just had my sweet little boy on July 21st. After I had him, they sent him to the NICU for some issues he had with his lungs - my husband delivered this news to me. You know what's crazy is that I remembered you and Harper, and all that the Lord has promised to me about this child of mine and I was overcome with peace. Tommy only spent 8 days in the hospital and he's home and healthy now. I want to thank you again for your testimony, heart and personal encouragement to me just with your own story and love for Jesus.

This is a great basis for a book when Harper is just a wee bit older (and doesn't want to eat them!) You could also print out the pics and the scriptures and then put them in one of the little cheapo plastic photo albums - that way it would a little more "mouth proof"! She would certainly enjoy the photos and it is never too late to start imprinting the Lord's word on your heart.

What a beautiful testimony! Thank you for sharing your life!

My special Scripture back to you is this:

This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear of timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. So you must never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.... With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the proclamation of the Good News.

2 Timothy 1:6-8

I see these Truths in action through your testimony; your blog.

In Him,
Heidi Tracht

Kelly,

Thank you so much for sharing these photos with the scriptures! I cannot tell you how much this lifted my spirits as we just found out our first attempt at IUI was unsuccessful.

I have actually claimed the same verse you did while trying to conceive - Jeremiah 29:11. When I first thought this verse was speaking to me, I thought 'no, silly, it's just because you read it on Kelly's blog.' However, in true God fashion, it just started coming up over and over again on blogs I read, in my current Bible study and last week during a leadership conference I attended no less than FOUR times.

I say all of this simply because I want you to know how much of an inspiration you are to me. Thank you for sharing your life and your faith.
