Bob Harper help me!

This morning I gave Harper her first bath in her bath tub! You can tell by her face that she really liked it! Nothing like a nice, hot bath to make you feel good!

This was after wards when she was still relaxed!
I dressed her up for Scott when he came home from lunch - her shirt says "My daddy rocks". I realized this morning that we have an awful lot of bibs and outfits that say "my daddy loves me, my daddy rocks, daddy's princess" but there is NO mention of momma! ha! I'm the one who gets up with her every night, provides her meals, changes most of her diapers, holds her all day long - where is my shirt? ha! (I am just kidding! Please don't send me momma shirts - she knows who I am!!!)

My neighbor, Melissa, is bringing us dinner tonight. We have been so blessed by all these meals. Melissa just started a blog. You need to check her out here and say hi!
So I have lost all but 4 of my pregnancy pounds. And I'm pretty sure those 4 lbs are part of the "meal providers" if you know what I mean. But I still have about 20 pounds of clomid weight that I'd like to lose. I can't go walking with Harper consistently just yet or go to the gym so I thought I would get some workout videos and try to exercise at home some. I'm a big fan of Bob (and Jillian) so I ordered these two videos today.
Has anyone tried these? Or do you have a secret exercise trick for losing weight? I can't diet really because I need food to help me make food. And please don't suggest running - that's just never going to happen. I'm more of an exercise class girl - step class, kickboxing, zumba.
I'll let you know how it goes once I get the videos. Hopefully by the summer I'll quit wearing my maternity jeans (I don't know - they are pretty comfortable - I don't think I WANT to give them up).

I haven't tried those videos, but I have done the Leslie Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" videos and have done well on losing weight with them.

Oh my word, Kelly, that smile on Harper's face while in the tub is just priceless!! Love it! What a sweet baby girl you've got!

I'm anxious to hear how you like your new workout tapes. Be sure to keep us updated!

I love Harper's black and white baby legs! She is so cute, Kelly.

Let us know how the videos work out. By the time I'm pregnant, I'm going to have at least 20 lbs of IVF weight to lose! YIKES!

Donna said...

Kelly, Please let all of us know how the videos work for you. I am still trying to loose baby fat 30 years later!ha Harper in the tub is a winner. My kids always loved a bath. When they would get fussy, I would put them in the bathtub. Worked every time. Water therapy is great. Of course, when they got a little older the bathroom looked like a scene from the Poseidon Adventure... but they were happy.
Love you guys!!
Keeping you in my heart in GA.

I have most of Jillian's videos, they will do the trick but prepare to be sore. Way to go on losing the pregnancy weight already--that is awesome!

I agree with all the other comments, let us know how they work out.. or work you out! Still 40 lbs overweight 8 years after my twins.

Crystal said...

AWW, she loves it!

Yes, please keep us updated on the videos. I am a big fan of the show.. do you know if you can buy these at stores or they sold online only?

I have been looking for a workout video but never know which is a good one. Bentley is 6 months and I still could lose more.

The 30 Day Shred is HARD!!! It's only 25 minutes, but it's non-stop. It's a great workout though. I'm still trying to lose the last 6 lbs of my baby weight, and my daughter is 6 months old, so you're doing great! (I sometimes still put on my maternity jeans to lay around the house in. They're sooo comfortable!)

Cheerful Homemaker said...

Good luck with the weight! At work there are several of us who are trying to get in shape and it's great to have people who know what you're going through.

I love Harper's little leggings! They are adorable:)

I did the 30 day shred video, and let me tell you it is crazy! I saw major changes in my body over the course of the 30 days. It's nice because it's only 20 minutes long, so it's easy to fit in. But, definitely be ready to sweat and be really sore. It's totally worth it though, to see great results in only 20 minutes a day!

I can't wait to hear your review of the cardio max video because I haven't tried it yet!

Ok- I'm a blog stalker and have been reading up and praying for Ms. Harper for months.
I'm supposed to start Clomid next month (if mother nature visits me). I was actually given the prescription over two months ago, but God and I needed to work somethings out. Actually, I needed to work them out, He had His act together. I'm totally nervous about the 20 lb clomid weight- seriously, I don't wanna do that..... please say no......

I've never tried those videos but I have used pilates videos before and have gotten great results!

Harper looked too cute in the bathtub and with all her outfits on!! You need to go buy her some "Mommy Rocks" stuff!!

Harper is so cute in her tub!
Oh yes, please let us know how the videos go. I had Keegan 5 months ago and I can not shed these last 10 lbs for the life of me.
Good luck to you as well!

oh and if you don't mind tell me, where did you get Harper's leggings? They are too cute!!

I love that you're a Zumba girl! Zumba's my fave. :)

I haven't tried the first video, but the 30 day shred is INTENSE. I definitely felt muscles in my body that I didn't even know were there. The good news is that the more you do it, the easier it gets. But I still haven't built up to levels 2 or 3 yet... I like that I can fit it in in just 20 minutes though. It's nice to feel that burn all day. :)

I'm loving little Miss Harper. She's precious.

Laura said...

KELLY! DO THE 30 DAY SHRED!!!!!! I love it and it works!!!! It will make you sore and will seem like the longest 20 minutes, but it is so worth it!!!! Plus, it does get a little better with time, just like Jillian says....ha! I wrote about it on my blog not too long ago! You'll have to let me/us know what you think!!

Alison said...

Hi! I just got the 30 Day Shred and its good. Its kind of like cross fit...a straight 20 min hard workout with no breaks. Its the best way to lose the weight if you don't want to spend tons of time at the gym. If you can fit a run in a couple times a week when the Hubs gets home, even better! :)

Good luck!

Beth said...

Hi Kelly! I love Harper's smile!!

Exercise secret? I swear by "the bridge" for helping your core. They are simple, but brutal--and effective. They require no equipment and you can go at your own pace whenever you want...a few minutes a day and build up your time.

Here is a link to how to do them:

http://www.fitnessandfreebies.com/exercise/exercises/bridge.html

I did these in a beach bootcamp class I took and they work!

I have been reading fourfatchicks.blogspot.com - a blog that documents four girls as they try to lose some weight. It has great workout and diet tips that are easy to apply to your life - and they love the 30 Day Shred.

I don't know how I stumbled across your blog but I love Harper's story - and her adorable bows!

I have been wanting to try the Biggest Loser videos- my husband and I are huge fans of the show! I really like all of the Beachbody videos-- I've done Slim in 6 and Turbo Jam and my sister is currently doing the P90X that you've probably seen infomercials on! It works :) I'm like you and prefer to do videos at home while my kids are sleeping... but, be prepared to not lose the last few pounds until after you are finished nursing. That's ok. Your body needs a little extra to make plenty for baby. Feeding baby is by far the most important :) I lost the last 5 pounds after both kids, after I stopped nursing, both times and that was over a year... that's ok, it still came off! I'll check back in and see how you like the Biggest Loser videos!

Unknown said...

Okay the Biggest loser videos will kick your BUTT! DH who is a firefighter gets his butt kicked but it is good. I have lost 33 lbs in 6 wks doing the leslie sansone walk away the pounds. It takes 15 min to do one mile and you can chose how many to do. She does an aerobic walk class style the way I like it. I got them at walmart and costco. I highly recommend them. I have to do exercise in the house at night when my three girls go to bed. So this is a great one!!! You can do it. I am working off all of my fertility treatments three years worth plus two pregnancies. It can be done!!

Jenny @ flutterbyechronicles said...

Harper's expression in the bath is so adorable. I think that little black bow with the little tights is so cute. I think my son only had like three things that said Mommy's little boy or I love Mommy, everything was about daddy. What's up with that?

I am no help with the exercise videos. I am not fond of watching a skinny women acting all happy working out--hehe:) I walk outside or on the treadmill and that is about it.

Rachel said...

Hi Kelly!

First off, I love those pics of Harper. She is such a little piece of joy.

I have and do the 30 Day Shred video. I LOVE IT! It's nice because there are three different levels and you can go up at your own pace. I was panting by the end of the first workout of Level 1! And it's quick, so it's great for us busy gals.

I have lost 10 lbs over two weeks by just cutting out all sugar and white flour from my diet. It's hard, because I so love carbs, but I feel much better and I am really learning how to understand my body more. It is not easy, but I promise, it works.

Thanks for keeping your blog updated. It's great to see your little miracle!

Harper is TOO CUTE! :) love the clothes/headband, everything! And those videos work a ton, they make you really sore too which makes me feel like they work even more. :) I have both of them and use them and I know a lot of people who use them and they say they work wonders. Good luck!

KelMel said...

I am new to your blog. So, first...HEY!! :) I have read back as far as Harper's birth and I'm just awed by the miracles y'all have experienced so far. God is so good!!

Now...exercise talk...

I have been doing Biggest Loser Boot Camp (DVD) three times a week and then Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga three nights a week. (Alternating, of course) Bob is the trainer on both of those. I highly recommend these dvds. They start you out on level one and then you work up after a couple of weeks on each level. I didn't even know that yoga could BE a work-out, but it really is. Both of these DVDs are well worth the money because you definitely get a good workout with both of them. I found them both at Walmart for $9 each. You'll need hand-weights for Boot Camp. Well, they use them, but you don't HAVE to have them at first. :) (You can also find the DVDs online via Amazon)

I'm bookmarking your blog and hope you'll visit mine sometime.

God bless,
Kelly (http://www.followfaithfully.com)

I just started the Shred and I looooove it. Jillian is totally kicking my butt. I love that it's 20 minutes and you're done. Like everyone else says be prepared to be sweaty and sore! Also don't get ambitious and get hand weights that are to heavy like I did.....

hayden said...

I know how you feel about the t-shirts! So I went to Wal-Mart and bought one for myself that says "Momma's Boy" it was only $3. :) Let me know how those videos work out...I still have 15 lbs. to go!

Check out "The Firm". I have several series of the DVDs and they are really good. I lost a lot of weight following them. There is a web site and I know Target carries some of the DVDs. I have the Fanny Lifter - HA HA! I need to get back on it before bathing suit season :).

Hi Kelly, question for you...do you guys have a Wii? If you don't, I suggest you get one. It's very active. And you can get the Wii Fit, which I love. I can actually hula hoop! But Jillian has a work out game for the Wii Fit and I just got it but have yet to try it. I like the Wii Fit because you do various 'games' and it doesn't feel you're exercising. Plus it has the yoga and stretches too. And I love that I can do it in the privacy of my own home once I've put my daughter to bed. Just thought I would suggest.
I remember nursing and everyone told me that you'll lose weight if you nurse. Not me, I was eating to keep up with my munchie child so I felt like it was hard to lose weight. But you look great and summer is coming. Just have patience. =)

Oh Kelly! LOVE the babylegs!!! I am so glad for you that she loved her bath!

I loved this DVD for losing my pregnancy belly (it's back now, thanks to that Clomid, with no baby to show for it ha!) It's nice because it has different levels, so if you're tired you can do less, or if you're getting more in shape you can do more. I watched it for free on Netflix and finally just ordered the DVD: http://www.amazon.com/Pick-Your-Level-Weight-Pilates/dp/B000GEIRBO Harper's a cutie patootie as always!

"meal providers"--hahahahahaha! That is hilarious. They are HUGE, aren't they?

When mine was little, I loaded him up in the stroller and walked around the neighborhood. It seemed to be good for him to get out, too. Nice spring weather is right around the corner. He also seemed to like the strollers better than allowed him to sit up a little and look at scenery. They make some that have straps so that a little baby can still see what's going on.

Like this:

And I still use the same one now that he is 2 1/2.

Oh, I am so excited!

After leaving you a comment a little bit ago, I discovered EXERCISE ON DEMAND with my cable company.. They have all different kinds of exercise shows.. lots of Biggest Loser, Bob, and Jillian are on there plus many others. I am showing a lot of them are available to watch until certain dates. After those dates I'm not sure if they replace those and put others up. And keep doing that.. But it can be a good way to at least test them out and see how we like them. =) Thanks for sharing those with us!

I just started the 30 Day Shred, and MAN IS IT TOUGH! I've been trying to drop those last couple of pregnancy pounds, and I really think this is going to work. Good luck!

I am an exercise class girl as well. Love my step, kickbox, etc. classes. But, after my third (last summer) my gym had just lost our step instructor. The only class offered while during the time I liked to go was spinning. Don't know if you've ever tried it but I had not -- and I was SCARED. But, I did it and saw results so much faster than anything else I had ever done. So, I stuck with it even when other things were offered. I'm now certified and teach at my gym. Just a suggestion.

i have the 3o day shred and lost all my baby weight with it and my arms got way more toned than before babies! I gotta say it will kick your hiney but stick with it, it gets easier and the results are worth it. And heck for 20 minutes a workout a day its AWESOME!! I still have this flab for a belly but I guess that just from having two babies back to back...and probably the food I still eat but I don't want to give that up!! hehe

Harper is so sweet! I'm so glad ya'll are doing well!

Blessings!!

Way to go on losing the baby weight. Cash just turned 3 months, and I still have 6 to lose. This 3rd baby seems like it is just taking forever. I wish you lived close so we could get out and walk these babies together. The weather here in TX today was 83. Beautiful!! I have never done the videos, but I am really into an organization called Strollerfit. It is a workout for you and your baby. You get together with a bunch of other moms and a trained instructor. I know they are nation wide, so just go to their website and check it out. It is really fun and works you out a TON!!

YES! I can totally recommend Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home videos. I love, love, love them. She has lots of different walk workouts with great high calorie, fat-burning miles. She has a website, but I found the DVD's for $8.88 at Sams Club. Check them out!

Jillian's shred is amazing! So tough!

Ashley said...

I have both of those tapes...and they are both excellent. But darn hard. I thought Jillian's was the worst thing I had ever done in my life...until I tried the Cardio Max a few weeks later. I was in pain the next day. But the pounds? They will go away. Quickly. And Bob and Jillian are both so motivating...and both are fairly short, like under 30 minutes, so you can fit them in a busy day. Just be sure to do it at a time when you have a few minutes to recover afterwards. Because if you're anything like me, you might feel like you're going to die at first.

Barrett said...

Just check The Firm website to make sure it was still there. I have the TransFirmer. I guess they renamed it.

Hey! I love your blog and read every post! Harper is beautiful and so precious. I love all of her monogrammed things, make me want to name a daughter Harper, if I ever have one, hehe.

So I had my little boy on jan 5th, 2009 and I gained 65 lbs in my pregnancy and I have lost about 35 so far. Your right, you can't really diet because were breastfeeing so I was going to start weight watcher because they have a plan just for NURSING mothers, so maybe you could check it out? But then I decided againist it because everyone says the weight will come off before I know it. I just want to be back into all my normal clothes, I hope by summer too! I have been walking on my treadmill at an incline every night for 30 mins and doing some crunches, sit ups, leg lifts and Ive lost about 3 lbs. Good luck!! Let me know how the videos are, I may try them!!!

I just started the shred on Monday - and am just now able to walk again. :) It is pretty tough, but I can see how it is going to work. It goes by pretty fast since it is only 20 minutes, but you feel like you had a really hard workout (because you did). I'm committed to continuing and looking forward to getting back into it - I had to take a couple of days off because I was so sore. Good luck!

I love Bob and Jillian too! I had to switch from "The 30 day Shred," to Bob's Weightloss Yoga because APPARENTLY living in an apartment means you can't be jumping all around like Jillian likes to do! I love the Yoga though, which surprises me, because I'm not really a yoga-ey kind of girl!

I wore my maternity jeans forever too, they are so darn comfortable and kind of sucked everything in, if you know what I mean!! I have the first DVD that you showed, the one with Bob Harper. I bought it the day before I found out I was pregnant so I never used it. My baby is now 6 months old and I am waiting to crack it open...such a naughty Mommy! It is hard balancing it all though, working part time, being a wife and mommy.
Are you going back to work?

The Biggest Loser DVD is great! You can customize your workout so that's nice - if you only have 20 min you only do one section, if you have more time, you can do it all. It's pretty good and contestants from previous seasons are the "class" so you don't have to watch tiny people in great shape work out. I've heard about the 30 day shred but don't have it. Would love to hear what you think after you try it! Good luck!

I MUST do them more often. I still have 15 lbs to lose from Katie. :( And we have a pool. Yikes!

Harper is too cute with her little headbands!! Katie also has a ton of "Daddy this" and Daady that" clothing and NO mommy. Wonder how that happens. :)

Oh, and thanks for your email asking about Katie's Neuro appointment. It went fantastic!!! I'll blog about it later tonight. Hopefully. Miss. Katie is cranky, cranky, cranky today.

I have already decided....I am wearing my maternity jeans from NOW ON. I am never going back. They are my new permanent jeans, I promise!!!
The Clomid weight is so ridiculous. I have about 25-30 pounds of it. When I look at my pregnancy weight gain, it is not NEAR as much as with Connor, (even looking at the same time frame) and I think it's because I already had so much extra weight from that "devil medicine!" Let us know how the videos go...do you think Jillian yells at people on the videos, too?!?!?!? ha!

Jill said...

I do Jillian's workout with ComCast on Demand on cable, if you have that. Also, keep in mind there are post-pregnancy pounds and then there are post-pregnancy inches and they are not the same. It's amazing you only have 4 pounds to go, but you'll keep noticing a big difference in inches disappearing as the months go by. That was one thing my mom told me that I didn't "get" until I was living it! Harper is adorable!

Melissa said...

Hey Kelly,
I have been reading your blog forever and am so glad Harper is home and doing wonderfully. Ya'll have certainly been in my prayers! I love to work out to the Leslie Sansome Walk Away the Pounds DVD's...she has a 1,2,3,4 mile walk video. It's not hard moves just walks, kicks, side steps, knee lifts...and if I can do it..you can too girl!

Just wanted to pop in and say hey! Hope everyone is doing great. It feels weird leaving a comment when I have never met you, but oh well...know even a stranger from Benton, AR is praying for you still!

I did the 30-day shred when it was on Comcast for free after having my second baby and it kicked my butt! Honestly, you probably won't lose all your baby weight until you stop breastfeeding. But, you enjoy those meals! I want to have another baby just so we can get the church meals again! I did south beach diet for about 6 weeks 6 months after having my second and lost my last 10 lbs of baby weight. It is not the most fun diet, but it worked for me.

Love the blog and love all the baby pics! Don't you just love having your own little real life doll to dress up. Every little girl's dream!

Girl that is amazing that you lost your weight!!! I was not so fortunate...I think I lost like 5 pounds literally and still have the rest. I had a difficult time with post-partum after Emma was born so was just not motivated to work out...finally...almost 2 1/2 yrs. later I AM. You will have to keep us posted on what you think about those videos! :)

Hareper is PRECIOUS. Emma is always talking about seeing "Baby Harper" and still praying for her each night! ;)

I love anything Pilates and also Denise Austin. Honestly though I wouldn't worry about losing weight this soon. You know "9 months on 9months off." It took me 11.5 months to lose mine (all 70 lbs of it) yeah you read that right :) It was strictly nursing and walking. It will happen for ya. Just don't nurse directly after exercising...lactic acid build up.

I have the Biggest Loser Boot Camp DVD and it's good - and tough.

Truth is... the biggest factor to losing weight is your eating... then your activity. Put them both together - and WaLa!

Look up "stomach vacuums" on the internet. I've been doing a lot of reading on abs - postpartum. They are VERY effective.

When Harper gets a little bigger - instant workout partner!! And she'll think you're just playing.

If you need/want any help - email me. I'll be happy to help.

Let us know about the videos, I have been wondering if they would be good. I read a book when I was pregnant that said 9 months of gaining weight, 9 months of losing weight and I have to say that was pretty accurate. My daughter is 15 months now and when she turned 1 year, I was pretty much back to where I was before I got pregnant. Hang in there, the breastfeeding really does help bring the weight off and then it will just kind of start dropping off. I remember too it's so hard to think about how you're eating at first b/c there are way too many other things that you are trying to deal with, so don't beat yourself up- it will come off!! If all else fails there are always personal trainers- ahhhhhh!!! Love your blog,I check in every day!

Sonya said...

I don't know if anyone has said this or not but be careful about working out to much, it can affect your supply as well as the taste of your milk. You might want to start out slow and gradually increase. If you notice a dip in supply or Harper being fussy the working out could be part of it. I just wanted to give you a heads up.

You know that BF is it's own form of dieting. You can burn up to 1,000 calories a day just making milk. It was the easiest and best diet I've ever done. LOL Even if you just add in a bit of excercise, it really seemed easy for me to lose weight - for the first time in my life. But you're right, don't diet, just eat right. You still need good calories to make good rich breast milk.

Kathy said...

First of all, I HATE to exercise!!! Have you ever heard of Weigh Down? It's basically the way God designed our bodies - WAIT until our tummy growls (that's God signal to tell us to eat) and then eat. Then STOP when we're full. That's the trick - figuring out when we're truly full. For me, it's when I do that first little sigh. I then know I need to stop. Anything kind of hunger outside of these - is more of "head hunger" = temptation!!! So, in these times - you would pray, read your Bible, go do your homework, listen to your tapes, or watch one of the videos.

If you're interested you can always check out this website... www.weighdown.com They are offering the At-Home-Series for FREE right now for the VHS tape set! You only pay for shipping. Which to Texas was $8.57. Can't remember the price for the DVD set.

Or if you have any personal questions - I'd love to answer them for you. I have done Weigh Down before pregnancy, while pregnant, after being pregnant and nursing and it truly works!!! It's the easiest thing I've ever done and I never had to exercise to do it. But more than the weight loss was my relationship with God - it truly grew to a point I had never known before!!! That was more beneficial than the weight. It was the best experience ever - I really hope you'll consider it!!!

Shari said...

She is so stinkin' cute! :] As far as nursing goes: I lost all kinds of weight while nursing and I didn't try including extra lbs I got before being pregnant. It will go away if you exclusively nurse! You will love it! Working out is great, but remember you need to sleep a little too! Take care!

Lori said...

Right after my 6 weeks, Josh and I would do cross fit workouts at home. Have you heard of them? Go to crossfit.com. They are just awful, but they only take a few mintues and you will see results pretty quickly. Josh would modify them for me and I was able to do them. He had his personal trainer certification for several years so for once his obcession with working out helped me!

I love the idea of Bob and Jillian!!!:)

Easy, slightly boring, but at least it gets done once in awhile. Harper is beautiful. Also, I have The Firm that includes the fanny lifter and those workouts are great! You are doing awesome if you just have 4 lbs to lose. You look great!! I would love for you to try to 30 day shed so i can have someone else to compare too, i dont know anyone else who does it. i am not doing her diet plan, just eating less, no cokes, no chocolate etc. hope to hear how it goes if you do it!

And then getting back into the gym. I go 2 days a week before my husband goes to work. I am not a morning person, so it is SERIOUSLY by God's grace that I get up to work out!!!

ANYWAY, I've done the cardio max video and it's great! Another line of videos that I LOVE is The Firm. I'm a class girl, too (I'll do 10 minutes on the treadmill and be DONE but do two classes back to back and love it!). Before we joined the gym I did those all the time and still get them out when I can't get there. They really reshape your body (especially the bum area :)). Well, there's my Firm plug. Hi Kelly!
So happy that Harper is doing so incredibly well! Praise Jesus!
Just wanted to say that when you are nursing, it isn't healthy to try to loose weight too quickly. I don't remember all the biochemical reasons why, but it was recommended not more than 1 pound every 1-2 weeks.
Also, make sure you maintain a healthy weight--seems like you are loosing really fast with nursing and that can make your milk supply go down if you are watching it really carefully.

I have the 30 Day Shred and it's great.

For weight loss, though, I advise reading the book "The Weigh Down Diet" ~ it is a Bible-based lifestyle that allows you to eat whatever you want, not be a slave to calories and/or exercise, and points a person back to focusing on God rather than food. You WILL lose weight ~ quickly, actually ~ and you WILL keep it off permanently.

This book has changed my entire outlook and I've been losing weight without trying. As a Christian, I feel compelled to mention it to you.

I have Jillian's and I love it! It is quick and easy yet challanging. I really feel good and like I have done something when I am finished.

Harper is so cute!!!
We just purchased Bob's Weight Loss Yoga and we absolutely love it. We can definitely tell we got a work-out, but aren't sore.
The cool thing is that it makes us feel energized and totally ready to get up in the morning!
Good luck!

I have been doing the 30 day shred and love it. My two little boys do it with me too. I like it because there are three levels so it helps me ease into it. Also it works great with my ADD because you do 3 min strenthg, 2 min cardio and 1 min abs and repeat twice. About the time I am ready to die we are moving to a less intense move.

Hi Kelly,

It sounds like you lost the baby weight really fast. My suggestion to you is to keep nursing! I lost all my weight plus more with both of my babies while nursing. It burns so many calories. I would try to eat healthy but don't diet and keep exercising and the pounds will probably melt away. Good luck! Amy

nursing, nursing, and more nursing. That is how I lost all of my weight and then some. It took a year but so worth it, I burned calories and my baby ate the good stuff:)

I too am trying to lose the baby weight -- and the meal delivery weight! I just checked out Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds - Fast Four Miles and GREATLY underestimated how challenging it would be! I love exercise classes too, but can't fit a gym membership into the budget. A few days of doing a DVD and I'm hooked; it's almost the same feeling, except I'm not worried about the girl behind me laughing at my off-rhythm steps!

My library has a TON of great DVDs -- yours might, too. It would be a great way to "change it up"!

I am a little sad about the thought of giving up all my maturnity clothes, too! People told me I would hate them, but not this comfy girl! Obviously, I am looking forward to the day I do not fill them out so much...but they are awefully comfortable. I love my citizen jeans with the big waitband....no crack ever shows! HA Let me know your secrets...starting next week, it is on! Man, I have kind of enjoyed eating everything I have wanted!

I know you get LOTS of comments so I don't know if you will even see this one or not! I just wanted to give you some advice on Harper's hair..in my (professional, I'm a hairdresser) opinion if you shampoo babies hair with "real" shampoo it will grow better and healthier! When I stopped using the baby shampoo on my 4 year old (about a year ago) her hair started growing sooo fast, you can go to my blog and see how much hair she has! AND I have an 8 month old and just started shampooing her hair with my shampoo too and it's probably grown about 1/2 an inch in the last 2 weeks!
Try it and you should be able to put it up in a pony tail before she's a year old!!
Take care and I praise the Lord for you that Harper is doing so well!

Good grief all the comments!! Mine might get lost! My advice on the weight thing {b/c I'm obsessed with shedding it after each pregnancy and I did have 4 kids in a 35 month period and I breastfed each of them the first 11 months of their lives- I get rid of the most when I started baby food. Seriously! I'm too busy feeding the baby that I really don't eat much and by then the milk supply slacks b/c they are eating more table/baby food - I'm telling you THAT is when it melts off like butter!

But you have lost all but 4! That is awesome!!

Kelly this is so funny, because as I was opening your blog to get the shrimp/wild rice recipe to make tonight, I was telling my husband about the 30 minutes shred that tons of people at work are using! So try it. I plan to buy it too! :)
I had my fourth baby five months ago, and nursing keeps me eating like a horse. The only way for me to lose weight is to work out more too.

Love those leggings! Good luck with the videos. I only gained 24lbs while preggers and thought it would come off easily...wrong, I have only lost 14lbs, still have 10lb more to go and it doesn't seem to be going anywhere!

I have never commented.
I have no kids.
I am 29.
I have been reading you since way before Harper was born.
I remember the day you said your Harper was going to be born... and all I could think was... wow... I KNOW this baby will be born into the best family ever and the birth process will be absolutly perfect mostly because of your faith.
I thought bad things only happen to people that deserve them.
I was in SHOCK when I read about little Harper. For my first time in years my faith was indeed lost.
I figured if someone as perfect as you had these issues... we are all doomed.
I have seen the love that has been outpouring daily. I think in some weird way this was suppost to happen to you... to make the rest of us realize stuff like this does happen.
You are inspiring.
Just this week my boyfriend of 9 years and I lost our jobs... (which I never thought was possible) But, with your story I have hope that we will make it.
I thank you for inspiring me, more then you know.
I knew Harper would make it.
I knew God gave you an obstacle to teach the rest of us selfish people how to take a chanenge and move on.
Thanks!
xoxo
Sarah

30 Day Shred kicks butt. It is only about 1/2 hour total so it is easy to fit in your schedule. It is an intense workout. I have done 1 hour videos that have not made me hurt as bad or sweat as much as this one!
