No baby and a list

1. No baby. No contractions. No nothing. Which this is all fine with me. I want to see her so badly but I'm also thankful for a few days of calmness and rest before she comes. I don't feel panicked like I have so much to do. I'm looking around for things to do. Just the way I like it. Please just pray that my doctor will agree to let me be induced in the next couple of days.
I have been trying to rest and relax but I got a little stir crazy this afternoon and thought of all kinds of things I think we might need over the next week - especially with our families here. Scott has been SO helpful to me and has been doing our grocery shopping and even trying to cook a little but I decided if I went to a small store and walked slow - I could do it. Well - I think if I had gone to the supercenter I would be in labor by now. I'm home with my feet up for the rest of the day.

2. I spent the morning watching "The Bachelor"! I watched "24" with Scott last night because he really wanted me to try to like it. It's just way over my head. I prefer more intellectual things like the bachelor and the hills and countdown to the crown. ha! ha!
Who are ya'll picking? I like Melissa - the former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. ha! She just seems real sweet and normal. She's the only girl on there I could picture being one of my friends. And she's also I think the only girl from the south. I bet she would monogram some things for little Ty. ha! ha! j

3. My friend Jenna is in the hospital having her little boy Brayden as we speak. I was hoping to go see him this afternoon but he's taking a little longer than I thought. So I'm hoping to go see him tomorrow morning before I go to my dr's appt. So exciting that our kids could be born 2 days apart (or less!) Update: I got a text from her at 5:30 that she was going in for a c-section so Brayden is probably here now!

4. Please go look at Amanda's blog. She has a story about a friend that has just broken my heart. I can't even imagine what this family is going through. I hope you will take time to offer them encouragement and to pray for them more than anything.

5. HUGE night of TV for us - Biggest Loser and American Idol. And they are both 2 hours long. We will probably watch Biggest Loser tonight and save AI for whenever we can get to it. Or maybe we'll watch them both - either way - YEAY!!!!!

I'll give a report after my doctor's appt tomorrow. We should hopefully know something by then! This is what I say to Scott about 100 times a day and every night before we go to bed -"WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!!!!". Sometimes I just can't believe it!

I am glad that you didn't wait until this evening to post!! We (my 11 year old daughter & I) anxiously await Harper's arrival too! We constantly check in & see if there is any news about going to the hospital!!

Blessings to you, Scott and Harper. We can not wait to 'see' her sweet face.

...And Dawson too, we wouldn't want him to feel left out already!

P.S. I am not sure who I like for Jason! I do know that there are quite a few that I don't like AT ALL!!

Blessings to you as you enjoy this time before Harper's big entrance! You are handling the "waiting" so much better than I did-lol! Can't wait for your update after your appt tomorrow!
I agree with you about Melissa-I kept thinking the first night that I knew her from somewhere and then my dh reminded me she was on the DCC show on CMT. ;) She is so sweet, cute, and just different from the other girls. I keep waiting for the week Deanna shows up- Game on! I'm hooked this season for sure.
Enjoy your TV night.

Kelly - just an FYI...I put an update about the Walkers on my blog yesterday. I try to post anytime I hear from our pastor, John Durham, regarding his talks with churhc (Kristi's hubs.)

Just thought I would let you know just in case you wanted to keep updated on them

I understand that I should want my baby to stay inside as long as he or she needs to, but I KNOW that if I go past the due date I'll go nuts. Just every day wondering if that's the day. I think I'll be all reaedy, so I'd be stir crazy just like you trying to figure out what to do with my time.

The Allens said...

Oh my! I just noticed that you babynamey says that Harper is 1 day old! It freaked me out for a second!

Still praying for you! And checking your blog constantly!

I really like Jillian but Melissa is a close second. The older girl on there that's a mother and lost her husband in a plane crash breaks my heart....but I don't think there is anything there for him on that one? Anywho. Hey, you guys are going to be PARENTS! A MOM! Get pumped. Can't wait to see her!

This time of waiting for Harper really is a blessing. It's good you see it that way and are staying positive...I know you want to meet her more than anything!

I, too, prefer the more intellectual "Bachelor" for my viewing pleasure...so much fun!

Anyway, I'm so excited for you to have your baby and I had to comment that your ticker that says "Harper Brown" has her at one day old already! Must be it's anxious for her to arrive, too! :o)

Blessings on the waiting, the birth, and all the fun in between!

hi Kelly,

I have been reading your blog for a few weeks, and i am totally prayer for you and scott as ya'll receive your little bundle of joy from God! I even posted about you and what your story has taught me about God on my blog today to maybe help get Harper up and moving! hope you continue to enjoy your rest!

Patty said...

I am still praying !! I am excited about AI tonight and I have to watch it and DVR the other shows. I am not sure who I like on the Bachelor but I do like Melissa. The girl from Canada surprised me, I thought surely he won't like her because of the hot dog thing but I was wrong. lol

I have never seen 24 and a friend of mine is trying to get me to watch it but that isn't really for me.
I am writing Amanda's friend a letter. It breaks my heart but I am believing God for a miracle!

I know we all can't wait to meet Miss Harper! She is already so loved and we don't even know her yet! I know she will be beautiful, just like her mom!

The Bachelor is SO good this season, isn't it?! I love Melissa too. She just seems cute, spunky, sincere, and, well... normal! My second favorite would be Jillian. I can't wait to watch it all unfold.

Good luck at your doctor's appointment tomorrow. What a blessing that you aren't stressed! Know that you and your precious little girl are in our prayers :)

I love Melissa too for several reasons! (1) She has a fabulous name..Haha! (2) I love the Cowboys. (3) she has just the sweetest, bubbly personality!!

Hopefully your doctor will induce tomorrow! I like Melissa too. She seems sweet and fun and she's cute...and she was a Cowboys cheerleader! She's not the only one from the south though...Stephanie is from AL...can't wait to see her next week with her precious little girl!

Bless your heart, you little baby counter thing on your sidebar says "Your baby is 1 day old." :)

Hey Kelly! This is my first time to come forward and leave a comment, but I have been following your blog for awhile now...just getting up the nerve to leave a little note...my husband thinks I am the silliest thing!! The other day, I told him I had to get on the computer and see if my friend Kelly had had her baby yet, and he asked me who Kelly was. I shared your blog with him, and he thought we were a perfect match :) I have 2 little girls, Macy (6) and Lucy (3)...so of course I am a little partial to little girls. Our family blog is http://www.thewillcuttgirls.blogspot.com I know you are sooooo busy getting ready for little Harper, but if you get just a second, will you drop me an e-mail to shannonwillcutt@yahoo.com so I can e-mail you back...my Mom and I have gotten a monogram/applique machine and I would love to drop a little gift in the mail for Harper!

Anyway...usually by the time I check in to your blog, there are usually 90 something comments...so when I noticed I was like 20th today, I took it as a sign to FINALLY come clean!!

I am enjoying following your Dad's blog for the daily Bible reading. Our church has a "read the Bible" in a year program, but I have found that just reading the words to get through a day's reading is not doing me much good...I love your Dad's devotional applications to the daily passages. Maybe I'll get up the nerve to leave him a comment as well!!

Take care of yourself, and know there is a crazy Mama of little girls in Mississippi thinking of you and praying for you!!

Sincerely,
Shannon Willcutt

It's so funny reading your post - about how you say to your husband "we're having a baby!" I used to say that to Jimmy all the time too - and now it has changed to "she really is ours!" it never really seems real!! I was late with Charley too and was induced - so if you have any questions about how everything goes. Just shoot me an email! My little one is almost 1 and I can't believe it! So enjoy her while she is still inside and when she is so tiny!! Good Luck!

Heather said...

My hubby wanted me to watch 24, too, but it is too intense for me! I want to relax while I watch shows! I am so moved by Amanda's post today. I am going to write a "Kristi letter!"
I was just like you before Connor...got a little stir crazy but enjoyed being home, being off, before things happened. It is a blessing! I will be praying for you tomorrow morning!

Jennifer said...

I'm really glad you are able to enjoy some down time before Harper gets here! I think it is so funny that your little ticker on the side says your baby is one day old!! They didn't get the memo that Harper was staying in a little longer!!

Did you see that Allison Sweeney had her baby last night on Harper's due date? I saw it on Yahoo today!!

Jess :) said...

Thanks again for the update, Kelly! We all really appreciate it and that way we can all stop e-mailing and checking/asking!! :)

Okay, Bachelor...I picked Melissa from the very first night and told my friends that she would be going to the end. Jillian is also creeping up there into the top b/c she's not such a crazy/catty girl. Well, so far she isn't. It's so sad how some of those girls got a rose on Monday night. What in the world?!? If I was choosing...I would have to say, "Well, Chris, I know I'm supposed to give out 12 roses, but I only want to give out 9...or whatever!" Oh well...maybe next time ABC calls and asks me to be on the show, I'll say "yes." ;)

I'll keep praying!

Love,
Jess :)

P.S. I added you to Facebook, well requested to "Add as Friend" but I'm not sure if you will know who it is. So, I thought I'd just let you know here, as well!!

Hello!! I am a luker and I may have posted once before but I love your blog!! I have kept up with it throughout your pregnancy and I can't wait for you to be a mother, you will be amazing!! I jsut had my little boy and motherhood is so much more than you can even imagine. I love how you aren't rushing things and are enojoying having Harper in your belly because you WILL miss it. I was so ready to get it over with (especially because of the nasty rash I had) but now I miss him being in my belly and I never thought I would. Motherhood is so amazing and so was the whole birthing process... I can't wait to do it again, God is soooo good!!!!!!!!!! I am just so happy for you.. Good luck!! I hope you get an induction date tomororw at the doctor!!!!! God Bless you!!

It's funny that your babynamey.com sign says "your baby is 1 day old" and she's still not here yet!

I'll be anxious to hear what your doctor says tomorrow! I have an appt. in the morning, too. I think I have to get my 7th Rhogam shot--I'm not nearly as afraid of shots as I used to be after all those! I loved being induced--I sure hope they'll let me go that route one more time--I'm not a big fan of surprises! I'd much rather check in calmly as you said, know that Lane can be there, etc. (I have this fear he'll be in a test and not be able to answer his cell phone this time!)

I can't believe you don't like 24! We laughed when the FBI agent gave Jack permission to do whatever needed to be done (as if he needed permission) and he hopped up and grabbed a ballpoint pen off of the coffee table as his weapon...how can you not like a guy like that!? :)

I was 5 days late and when I arrived I took 10 lbs, 14 oz off of my sweet Mother from the start...I was cooked and then some. They (who's they?) say the brain needs that 40th week (reports just released last week)...so Harper wil be just as smart as she can be! :)

I loooove Jillian! Melissa, the one you like, went to OU! Boomer! Sooner! If Jillian is not it...I think she'll be the next bachelorette.

going to dinner with my ladies group - we will all be praying for you before we dine tonight~! loves, kate

Hello! Thanks for the update! I know so many people are checking in! I hope and pray that everything goes well at the doctor tomorrow and that you'll get to be induced in the next couple of days!

I love Melissa, too on The Bachelor! She's definately one of my favorites!

24 is really good, but there is so much background information to know! I had to go back and watch previous seasons to understand what was happening but I am hooked now!

i so hear you as i was there last week but was threatened with induction and didn't want to but then baby came at night . My best piece of advice is to rest. Gravity does help but rest in Him Jesus. All in His timing not ours I know hard. Just had a baby last week a girl

I had to let something go on the DVR last night. So, I didn't watch "The Bachelor".

I worried about you last night when Angie was tweeting her friend's birth and how FAST that went. That is NOT normal! Most women are begging for labor to go faster. I was always telling the nurses... "you need to check me again, I think I'm about to have "it"." And I'd be like 2cm!!!! Ha!

I am so ready for Harper to arrive. I was worried about you today because I was busy at work and didn't have time to check the blog! I figured Jennifer would have texted me if something big happened.
All of us NWA bloggers should get together soon. That way we can all meet each other and all the babies can meet to! :)

Thanks so much for keeping us posted. We are all so excited to wait for Harper's arrival!!! She will be here in God's perfect timing. I pray that you get a good report from the doctor on Wednesday and that he will decide to induce you.
Pregnancy and the birth of my 2 girls was the most amazing time in my life. If I had a time that I wanted to re-live in my life, it would be my 2 pregnancies and deliveries. They were both amazing!!! Being a mother is pretty awesome too.
By the way, I am the Mom to Adventures of a Southern Newlywed and also Sweet, Sassy & Always Classy! If you are bored tomorrow, look at SS&AC's blog and see her adorable college apartment. I helped her get it all straight this weekend. Just think, one day you will be doing that with Harper!
One piece of advice before she comes; savor EVERY single minute of your time with your precious Harper. The time goes by so FAST. You will blink your eye that first year and she will be 1 before you know it. Praying for your whole family. Love & blessings!
