Why I LOVE Blogging

WHY I LOVE BLOGGING
By Kelly S.

I started blogging because I thought it would be fun to keep an on-line journal. I always kept a diary in junior high through college and I thought this would be great only instead of writing about what boy I thought was cute or how great our basketball team played - I would write about our life now. I thought it would be a great way for our families to keep up with us. (and now I love that my mom has a blog so I can read what she is thinking and doing!)
I found it's a great way to keep up with my current friends as well as connect with old friends. I feel so close to my friend Leigh Ann who I LOVED so much in college but we haven't talked much since then and now I feel like I know her so much better!
Then I started reading blogs of people I don't know. First it was just friends of friends like Jill and Begina. They are my friend Julie's friends from college and I have just loved reading their blogs. And then I discovered Boomama and Big Mama and they made me laugh so hard and completely changed blogging for me.
And now I have discovered so many blogs of people I don't know but I feel like they have become friends. I hope one day I can meet the good majority of you in person! At least maybe in heaven! ha!
Today I came home and I got two pieces of mail from my sweet blog friends and it just made my day.
Jessica sent me this cute valentines card! She is one of my first bloggy friends and we live near each other so VERY soon we are going to have to meet for lunch! Hillary and I already have it planned!

I started reading a blog several months ago by Brittani. She just seems like the sweetest person and I love reading what she writes. She had asked me if she could send me some verses that her sister had written out when she went through infertility that meant so much to her. And today she sent them to me along with a sweet note.
Brittani - thank you and your sister so much! I will keep these on my desk or by my bed and read them every day to give me hope! Thanks for reaching out to me! I wish we could meet at Starbucks and have coffee and talk! :-)

I love reading about your children and your husbands and your homes and your struggles and joys from parenthood. I love getting cute craft ideas or decorating ideas or recipes. I love your funny stories! I love hearing about trips you go on! Thank you for reading my blog and leaving me comments! I enjoy your friendship so much!

What is your favorite thing about blogging????

How awesome!! I don't remember if I've ever commented on your site, but I visit it every time you post. So, if you want to add another bloggy friend to your list, I'm here for you. :-)

This bloggy world is pretty cool! I love Big Mama and Boo Mama as well. Maybe that's where I found you?

Kelly, I linked to your blog from Megan's several months ago. We went to the same church together and played Bunko a few years back. I also know Leigh Ann and went to school with her husband, Derek. I have several blogs that I MUST read every day and yours is one of them. My sister (and a few of my friends) make fun of me for reading these blogs. At first, it was like my own personal soap opera, checking in on people that I don't know. But it has developed into more than that, now that I have personal links to some. For example, on my way to work this morning I thought about your procedure and said a prayer for you. And we don't even know each other. I know that may sound strange (and it drives my husband crazy sometimes when he wants to hang out and I'm in here reading blogs...), but the Lord can bless us through His Word and through His people. I have gotten so encouraged in different areas reading blogs.

I meant to say Megan and I went to church together and played Bunko together...not you and I! :)

I love blogging because I feel like no matter what kind of day I'm having, I can always find something to make me smile. I've found old friends, and made new ones. It's also awesome to know what kind of support group we have within our bloggy friends. It's been very therapeutic for me and I love it!

One of my favorite things about blogging is that I get to check in on YOU every day! I am so thankful that you told me about your blog. I have had the best time reading it (sometimes several times a day) and being encouraged by you! Sometimes when I read your blog, I wish Derek and I lived near you. I have also enjoyed documenting our lives. You are right...I'm taking pictures of things I never thought I would have before. And, I love that I have been able to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones along the way. Thank you for inspiring me! Love you bunches!

Oh, I have no doubt that we'll meet in person one day - and I imagine that it will be at some sort of SEC sports venue. Love you!

I love seeing all the creative & crafty projects others do. It inspires me to make something or be creative or organize my house. I also get new ideas of products to carry in my online store, (www.snappycasualgifts.net)especially finding new designers.
But I also like finding out & reading about how others are going through the same things as me in their lives. Sometimes I read others & think wow I really have it good. Other times reading others blogs makes me stop right that instance & say a prayer to God for that person or for what is good in my life. It is also fun to look back & see what was going on a year ago in my world.
I just recently found your blog but am enjoying reading.

Blogging is better than TV, more like reading a very good book, full of wonderful characters and interesting lives! I learn something new everyday! Thanks, Kelly, for getting me started. It's a fun and interesting life out there in Bloggyville!

Aww!! Sweet Kelly! You cross my mind all the time and I hope you know how much inspiration your blog provides me! Your blog helps me when I am having a rough day to realize that I am not the only Christian girl who is trying to live victoriusly in this world! Keep up the good posts! I read you everyday! : )

You are so welcome, Kelly.

I love that others are so willing to give a peek into their lives, as well as share in mine. It adds a whole new dimesion of friendship that I never would have understood a year ago:)

Hi! I've started reading your blog through Hillary's (we went to school together and I'm her friend Katie's sister-in-law). I love reading it because we are going through fertility issues too. I was wondering if you would share the verses you got in the mail. Just the references so I can look them up would be great! Thanks!

Will you send me an e-mail at mrskellystamps@yahoo.com and I would love to send you the verses!

I am very new to this..I actually found out about blogging by google-ing thank you notes..weird, anyway, I just got hooked, reading about everyone's lives, special events, journeys, passions, and creativity...Many blogs inspire me and challenge me to do all sorts of things like sew, cook, and bake. But most importantly the bond between total strangers who enjoy the same things and live in all different states and all walks of life...I am very glad that I have "met" you!!! Keep blogging away:)

What a great post! I love blogging for one reason because I stay so behind on my scrapbook and when I don't remember all the details to journal for certain pictures, I just look back at my old blog entries.
I love keeping up with friends and lately I have been making new blog friends and I just love it!! I love that my friends here get excited because I found a new blog to read and then they start reading it too! Then we have conversations about different blog topics and talk about people like we really know them. It's just fun! I'm thinking some of us LA people and AR people are going to have to meet up someday! We are not that far apart. :)

Brittani is SWEET! We met this summer, and I'm so glad!

I love reading & seeing pictures about people that I just KNOW I'd be friends with if I actually met them in person!

I also meant to say maybe we'll meet at OBU Homecoming some day. Or the next time I'm in Benton County (my parents live in Gentry), that's only about once every 2 years so maybe 2009? = )

I'm so glad that you enjoy reading my blog! I really enjoy reading yours too! It's one of my "go to" blogs first thing in the morning to get me going at work!! We will definitely meet soon! I feel like I know you so well already. I think that Jill, Julie, you, and I should get together for a girl's night the next time Jill & I are up that way!

I love blogging because I can just speak my mind and just put it out there. I love being transparent. I am who I am...craziness and all.

Oh I agree 100% about how I really do value and hold dearly my "blog friends" even the ones I've never met!
I am uplifted by stories of strength, inspired by others decor, melted by pics of babies, encouraged by sincere comments, and tickled by dancing videos! haha! I do hope we'll meet one day, too!!!
