Branson Weekend

My mother-in-law turned 70 this month and so we decided to meet up in Branson for a weekend and celebrate.  We left Friday after school and got up there.  Branson is less than 2 hours from us.  We stayed at a real nice condo in Reed Springs (right outside Branson).

We ate at a whole in the wall pizza place and it was SO good.  We had the friendliest waitress and she loved Will Holden.  She kept messing with him and WH has Never met a stranger and is never shy but she was embarrassing him and he wasn't as friendly as normal.  Harper wrote her a letter and left it for her.  I got so tickled by it.

We had strawberry birthday cake back at the condo that night.

We took a golf cart tour of Lost Canyon at Top of the Rock next to Big Cedar.  I have heard a few people doing this and it was SO much fun.

It is INSANELY beautiful!!!  The ozarks really are a beautiful place to live!

We took two golf carts - Scott's parents and Harper in one and the rest of us in the other!

I mean! So pretty!

You don't have to stay at Big Cedar to do this.  There is a small cave to go in too!

They say it takes about an hour - but it took us about an hour and a half.   We stopped a ton to take pictures though.

We went as soon as they opened so it wasn't crowded but there were a few other people out there who took pictures for us!

It's not a cheap tour but it was worth it.  We didn't want to do anything cheesy in Branson and we wanted something both 70 year olds and 4 year olds would enjoy! I highly recommend.  I bet it would be beautiful in the fall too!

So many waterfalls.........

We headed to Big Cedar next and ate lunch and looked around.  Big Cedar is beautiful too if you ever had a chance to go or stay.

Laurie and Steve love doing this mountain coaster so we decided to try it next.  Hollis hated riding with me because I'm a chicken and wouldn't go as fast as she wanted.  ha!

Will Holden loved it!

It started pouring down rain in the afternoon but we braved the weather to go to Cantina Laredo.  It's my favorite restaurant and it did not disappoint!

Sunday morning we had to leave the condo at 10 and we ate a quick breakfast and then Scott's parents had to get on the road.  We decided to stick around for a while and not rush home.  We went to the Disney store at the mall and looked around and then rode go karts.

Hollis is always my partner.  I tried to go faster on the go karts for her.  We ate lunch at Landry's and it was good and then we started home.

There are a lot of fun things to do in Branson.  It's a great little weekend trip.
