Christmas Time is Here

We had a FULL week last week!

We had cookies and milk with Santa after school on Tuesday.   It's a fun event that's put on by our school.  The money goes to help families in need.  They have lots of fun stations and then you get to have your picture made with Santa.  This is Hollis and her new BFF this year.  They are the most darling little girls.

Harper and one of her besties!

We had a nice visit with Santa!

Thursday, Will Holden and I went and met Scott for lunch.

It's our favorite Mennonite restaurant.  It is so good.

I got some sugar cookies to go and they were the BEST cookies I have ever had in my life.  AMAZING!!!!!!!!

Friday Harper got student of the week!

Then I headed on a field trip with Hollis.  I love getting to go on field trips.

Will Holden had Grinch day at school!

Friday night I got a last minute ticket to go to a Merry Christmas party at Amy Hannon's house.  She made an amazing spread of food.  It was so good!

My friend Amy invited me.  We had a great time.  We laughed a lot!

My friends Sharon and Terry (mom and daughter) were there too! That was such a fun surprise! I LOVE them!

I adore Amy.  She and I go way back to neighboring high schools and we graduated the same year.

It was such a fun night.

We were SUPPOSED to get a big winter storm this weekend.  I totally buy into the hype - I'm a weather optimist.  So I basically cleared our weekend in my mind and bought enough food for a week.  You know how the south is - our town cancelled all activities two days in advance.  And then it didn't do anything.  It was so disappointing.  It was cold but not one flake.

Our church always puts on a Christmas store.  Our church members donate toys and bikes and then families are invited by local school counselors to come and shop for free.  We had the most families ever this year - almost 600.  It is such a blessing - I just love working together with our church to help our community.  It's always the MOST fun morning.

Scott and I always keep kids while their parents shop.

Our girls used to help us with the kids but now they are big enough to do their own parts so they wrapped gifts fore the kids when they shopped for their parents.  They absolutely LOVE working at this!

We went by Cabela's/ Bass Pro Shop to see all the Christmas stuff afterwards and then headed home to hibernate.

We have a sweet friend who has a little boy Harper's age who has been in the hospital for over a week and he's very sick.  They transferred him to Little Rock Sunday so before he left - a group of us gathered up a big basket of things they could use and a few of us went to see them and drop it off.  We had a great time together and are just praying our little buddy gets better soon.

Sunday we had church and then the girls went caroling after with the GA's (Girls in Action).  (How amazing is Hollis' hair? You rarely see it because she always has it in a ponytail.  She used to have curly hair when she was little and now she has this thick beautiful hair. Harper has great hair too - hers is SO thick.  They both got blessed with a lot of hair).

It's our most favorite time of the year!
