Caves and Retreats

We have had so many fun things happening lately.  I can't help but feel SO grateful to be able to raise these kids and do things with them.

Hollis had a field trip on Thursday to a local cave.

What you need to know about Hollis is she INISTS on wearing a side ponytail EVERY SINGLE DAY OF HER LIFE.  I can talk her into wearing it down on Sundays - but she wants that same pony tail EVERY DAY!

We have never been to this cave (It's the Spanish Treasure Cave in Gravette) and it was SO fun.  It's really big.  I love a good cave.  It was so cool inside.  I decided to book mark this as something for us to come back to in July when the heat is killing us.  Hollis and I had a great time walking through it.

Inside the cave is this huge room and they have people camp out there all the time.  They also show movies in there during the summer.  I think that sounds so fun and different!! We may have to try it sometime!

The kids got to pan for gold and jewels after.  They loved this part.

Then we went to a local park and had lunch and played.  It was a gorgeous day!

Friday was field day.  This is our 4th year of Elementary school and the first year it hasn't rained on Field Day.  It's been horrible weather all the other years but this year couldn't have been more amazing.  I worked the 40 yard dash and bouncing ball relay.

It was SOOO hot but it was fun to see all the kids having fun.

I was wiped out that night.  But it was a great day!

I woke up super early on Saturday to watch the royal wedding! I was so excited to watch it live and it didn't disappoint! I loved every bit of it! I love how much Harry and Meghan seem to love each other.

Saturday afternoon, the girls and I headed to Fayetteville to a mother daughter retreat for the GA's at church.  (GA's stands for Girls in Action.  It teaches the girls about missions and serving.  They love it.  I was a GA and went to GA camp in Texas when I was little!)

We started out doing a selfie scavenger hunt.  It was a lot of fun.  It was soooooooo hot.  I think I was soaking wet by the time we finished.

We had dinner and a little program and then the girls all went swimming until after dark.

They had the best time! We moms had fun visiting while they swam.  Then we had a dance party and did crafts and stayed up until midnight.  This was the first time we have had this retreat and it was so much fun.  It was held at a camp.  We had two older ladies that cooked dinner and breakfast for us.

We got up early Sunday morning and headed to breakfast.  This camp is on the top of a mountain in Fayetteville.  This cross lights up at night and it's a famous spot for everyone to drive up and visit.

The view is so pretty - you can see all over Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas.  If you look - you can see the lights to Razorback stadium in the back.

These sweet friends had the best time.  Harper absolutely loved it.  She wanted to stay a week.  (She and I head to church camp in three weeks - so hopefully this is a good sign that she will love it).

We had a worship service.  Some sweet teenagers led the music and I gave the devotion.  After it was over - we packed up and headed home and met Scott and Will Holden for lunch as they were leaving church.

I love being their mom!

What a precious memory!
