Sonic Trips and Power Lifting

We had a busy week this past week.

Monday the girls finally got a good hair cut.  They only get a hair cut maybe twice a year and they were over due.  They looked so grown up!

Tuesday night Harper's team played against her best friend's team.  Hollis scored a goal and did so good and so did Kampbell.  It was the first great weather we had during a game and we sat with our friends and just had a great time talking and cheering.

Someone told me Hollis looks like a young Jennifer Garner in this picture.  She totally does!

Wednesday I took Harper to Sonic on a one on one date to just have some girl talk.  I love getting time alone with my kids.

So naturally I took Hollis the next night.  She cracked me up because she brought a notebook because she wanted us to do math problems together.  Not homework - just math facts.  She is such a mini me.  Which is good and bad.  ha!

Friday Laurie needed to pick up something she ordered in Grove, OK - about an hour away.  She invited me to go with her and we had a great day.  They have a super cute store that we love.

Then we ate lunch at Charlie's Chicken before coming home.  Laurie LOVES her some CC!

Harper got student of the week at school for like the third time in an assembly at the end of the day so I took the girls home early and we went for our first snow cones of the year!

We had the Power Team at our church this week so Friday night we went to see them.

The girls loved it and I was a little worried WH would be encouraged to break things. ha!

We had a full day Saturday and I didn't take ONE picture.  Hollis had a soccer game in the morning.  It was GORGEOUS that morning.  We went home and had lunch and I had to go grocery shopping and do about 5 loads of laundry.  Hollis had a birthday party in the afternoon and then we went over to a friends house and had dinner and swam.  It was a perfect day.  The kind of day I enjoyed and didn't take pictures!

Sunday was church and it was finally warm.  No coats or boots! We spent the afternoon taking a long hike and playing outside.   We are so ready for summer! It's coming at us fast!

Fire in the Hole!

Yesterday my baby boy turned THREE!!!

I can hardly believe it! When he was born and I felt overwhelmed, I would tell myself that if I could just make it until he turned three - I would be ok.  Well - I've made it and I am ok! I'm more than ok.  He has brought so much joy and laughter to our house.  Yes - it is crazy and he is busy and rough and all boy but he is so sweet and snuggly and he loves us all so fiercely.  You just TRY to get between him and his sisters.  He is their loyal protector.

He's not a baby anymore - he is a little boy now.  He tells me all the time "I'm big".  He always wants to eat so he can be "big and strong"! :- )

He loves fire trucks, tractors, and transformers.  I thought a fire truck party would be fun so we had one this past weekend!

My parents came for the day (WH was OVER the picture taking by this point)

My world

Scott's family

We have a fire station in our neighborhood so I had planned to ask them if they would mind if we brought the kids over for a quick tour.  We were going to walk over.  So when I asked one of the firemen - he was SO nice.  He said he was on duty and maybe he would just bring the truck over.  I really didn't think he would but I called the day of the party just to double check about us coming and he said "Oh I will be over with the truck".  I was so thrilled.  Firemen are just always so nice.

They pulled up to our house and Will Holden was so happy.  He went running out and they were so sweet with him.

The kids got to climb in the truck.  (It's a little tricky to get a picture of three year olds - so we had to have a lot of mommas in the picture).

What a sweet day for this boy.  I don't know if he will remember it but I sure will.

I loved his cake!

It was a simple party.  We had cake and opened presents and the kids played outside.

He even got firemen gear - how adorable is he?

All three of my kids at their third birthday parties!

Yesterday on his actual day - he really didn't know it was his birthday.  He thought we had already celebrated it.  But we sang to him and I had Bible Study but he wanted to have eat in the garage afterwards? Ok.  So we had a picnic in the floor.

And then he drove his favorite gift! His tractor (if you haven't seen my video on instagram of him opening the tractor - you need to watch!)

What a sweet time celebrating my sweet boy!

Spending the weekend in the 1800's

We had a super busy but fun weekend! We celebrated Will Holden's birthday! I will write about that tomorrow but I'm sharing the rest of our weekend today.

Scott's parents came up on Thursday.  We got season passes to Silver Dollar City this year.  We thought Will Holden might be a good age to go.  They include guest passes so we planned a trip on Friday.

The last time we went Will Holden was barely two and he hated it and it was miserable but this year he loved it.  We didn't take a stroller and he did good walking and he loved the rides.

I was proud of how many things he rode.  I don't love rides but I decided to get on Fire in the Hole for the first time since I was 17.  It's not awful but has several fast dips.  He rode with me and I had a death grip on him.  It's a whole new level when you ride a ride with a toddler.

I was afraid it would be too cold but it turned into a nice day.  It was high school choir day so there were a million teenagers there but that meant the kids area was empty. ha!

They have a whole fireman area for kids.  Will Holden was all in!

Hollis is as brave as Harper.  They rode several roller coasters!

While Scott and the girls rode roller coasters, I hung out with Will Holden and he got real still and then just passed out on me.  I held him while he slept for about an hour.  Poor baby we wore him out!

We had to race back to town because the girls had choir practice that night.

We had such a fun day and look forward to a lot more trips to Branson this year!

Sunday we helped with baptisms.  I was so excited because Emily got baptized! She was saved at a very young age but recently just wanted to nail it down as a young lady.  She wanted to make her relationship with Jesus secure and get baptized.  I'm so proud of the beautiful girl inside and out she has become.  She is headed to junior high and I just can't believe it!

Love them!

Hollis ran over to sit with her best friend Kampbell during church.  One of my favorite memories growing up was always sitting with my friends in church.  It makes me so happy when my kids sit with their friends.  I hope they have the same special memories I do.

Sunday night was our church children's musical.  We always have a big production.  This year they did "Back to the Cross" - which involved a time machine that travels through several decades.  My girls were in the 1800's and they sang a duet (you can see them sing on my instagram!)

Love all these sweet girls!

Kampbell and Hollis

This was the first and last year that my girls and Laurie's girls would all be in choir together.  Emily will be in youth choir next year.

I was so proud of these two singing - especially shy Hollis.  She told me she wasn't nervous and now they are both ready to try out again next year.  I'm thankful for the confidence it has given them and that they love to sing.

We were so glad Scott's parents got to come see them sing!

Love these girls!

Will Holden sat through the musical and was so good.  He even leaned over towards the end and whispered "I've been a good boy".  ha ha ha

In the time machine!

We are back to routines this week and we only have five weeks of school left! Crazy!
