Just some stuff

I want to blog but it's just a life full of normal and busy right now.  And not a lot to share!

Our leaves finally all fell and the girls had so much fun after school yesterday raking them up and jumping in them.

This little elf just keeps me on my constant toes.  He's as fast as lightening.  Every time a door in our house opens - he is out it quicker than you can blink and running down the street like an Olympic sprinter.  I do a lot of chasing.  I've been surprised that he has really left our Christmas trees alone.  I figured he would be throwing down ornaments and climbing the tree but surprisingly he hasn't touched anything! It's a Christmas miracle!

This boy has just brought a lot of life and laughter to our house.

We are full of things like field trips, speech therapy, gymnastics, homework, and all things Christmas these days.  I had a PTO officer luncheon on Monday and we did a favorite things exchange which is always so much fun.  We have our Sunday School party this weekend and the girls are singing in church in our Christmas program Sunday so always a lot going on!!!

And I wanted to share our Christmas card with you! I mailed most of them out yesterday.  I'm still working on another stack but I will share anyway!

This was completely not a Will Holden photo fail! I'm so in love with this picture.  It will go in a big frame in our house eventually! Look at his sweet hands on both of his sisters! And that blond hair.  And my big beautiful girls! GAH.  I'm a thankful mom.  (Of course we took no less than 257 pictures to get this one.)

Love how our card turned out from Minted.  (I grabbed a copy off a print screen so it's not the clearest but it's BEAUTIFUL in person - with gold lettering!).  They are running deals daily so check back often to order your cards!!!

Thanksgiving 2016

We had a great Thanksgiving.

Scott went to south Arkansas on Friday to hunt with his dad and Steve.  They took my girls down to spend a few days with Scott's mom.

Will Holden and I rode down with Laurie and her girls.  Her parents live about 30 minutes from Scott's parents so it worked out really well.  We drove through Arkadelphia so we took a little spin through OBU.  Laurie and I were having fun looking around and looking at things and her girls were saying "This is boring".  ha ha ha! We are old.

Wednesday the kids and I and my MIL went to town to a few stores and of course Walmart.  The kids wanted to see the Nutcrackers at the courthouse.  How old does Hollis look here? Sadness.  We ate lunch at the Flying Burger which is my favorite.  They have the best fish tacos - only I got shrimp tacos and they were even better!

My in laws live in the country and the kids love running around.  They were climbing on hay bales.

And it was a Thanksgiving miracle when they all 3 smiled!

We had Thanksgiving Thursday with just our family and my in-laws.  We had a great meal and a nice day at home.  It was great weather.

These are the four things I'm most thankful for!

My kids had the best week with their grandparents!

This little turkey.  Oh my!

We came home Friday afternoon.  We finished getting the house decorated for Christmas on Saturday and Scott took the girls to see "Trolls".  Today we went to church and then spent a relaxing day at home.  It was such a great week off.  I'm not looking forward to the morning rush starting back tomorrow.  December is SUCH a crazy month so I'm bracing myself!

I had to take a look back at all of my turkey past pictures.  These babies have grown WAY too fast!

And this is not our exact picture - this is an outtake.  But I got our Christmas cards back last week and I'm mailing them out tomorrow.  I'm SO excited - I think it's our best card yet.  (I will share soon!) But Minted just does the BEST job!! And if you have your address list together - they will address them all for you for free! Which I think is amazing! It's Me today on Friday Fellowship

Well - since it's Black Friday and most of you are probably either shopping or with family and NOT reading here - I didn't want to post any of my friends I have lined up for Friday Fellowship because I don't want you to miss out on any of them.

So I thought I would just answer my own questions for fun for the 7 of you who read here today. ha!

1.  What is your favorite Food?

Tacos, chips/salsa/queso.  All day long.  I could eat that every single day until I died.

A close second would be Greek food.

2.  What is your very favorite piece of clothing right now? (FASHION)

If you know me - you know I love a good tunic.  And legging and boots.  That's pretty much my mom uniform these days.  I've been trying to wear more jeans and tops these days also.

(Side note - if you are like me and are 40 plus and/or if you are a new momma - I have something interesting to share with you at the very bottom of this post.  Also if you have daughters who fit either of these categories or a friend or relative who you might be Christmas shopping for.)

3.  Tell us about your Family?

Well - this is not new news to you if you read here.  But I'm married to Scott.  We met on a blind date that my BFF Laurie set us up on (they are cousins).  We have been married 13 years this month. He is a "computer nerd" slash redneck.  He loves football and hunting.  We are COMPLETE opposites but to quote Jerry Maguire "he completes me".   Harper is our oldest daughter - she is almost 8.  She is full of joy and kind and tender hearted and makes me laugh every single day.  Hollis is 5 and a half.  She is smart and a little sassy and shy.  But she is a secret warrior.  Quiet but full of power.  She is going to be a force to reckon with. She is also the kindest big sister.  And Will Holden is 19 months and our surprise ending.  He is so much fun and keeps me on my toes.  He has a smile that is very hard to say no to.  I am just extremely blessed with my three children.

4.  What is the most important quality in your Friends? OR tell us something that a Friend has done for you that you can't forget.

I have so many great friends.  It's one of my best gifts.  My friends make me laugh so hard but also accept me for who I am.  They are encouraging and uplifting. I'm in a constant group text and it's just my love language.   I love my old friends who have known me through so many stages and are just comfortable and I love my new friends who challenge me.  I think something I will never get over is how good our friends were when Harper was in the hospital.  Almost 8 years later, I still get tears in my eyes when I think of how so many of them drove 4 hours round trip to visit us or did acts of kindness for us or just prayed for us.

5.  What's something you have learned recently in your Faith journey?  And/or share your favorite scripture right now and why or your favorite Bible Study or book you have read recently.

Oh boy - I could pause here and write books on everything I have learned about God even in the last few years.  I'm still learning.  Writing this blog has challenged me because so many of you have stretched me and asked questions and I've had to get out of some boxes in my thinking.  I think every new challenge or season of life brings new understanding and insight into who God is.  I have a lot of Bible Studies I have loved but I think more than anything - I just love to read the Bible.  Just take my time and soak in the scripture.

6.  What is your biggest Fear?

My biggest fear is anything happening to my children.  I'm terrified of illness.  I'm not afraid of dying but I'm afraid of dying and leaving my children before they are grown.  I'm more scared to lose them but I also don't want to leave them.  I have to keep the "what ifs" at bay or they can take over my life and steal my joy.

7.  What are some of your Favorite things right now?

I'm happy that its starting to be dark and cold.  Most people hate it but I love being home to snuggle.  I love to put on pj pants and watch TV late at night after everyone is in bed.  I love a clean house.  I love the show "This is Us".  I love worship music.  Even in the cold, snowy weather - I love a good coke Icee. ha!

8.  What has been your biggest Failure?

I feel like I fail at a lot of stuff.  I'm not athletic so I never did sports.  I fail at motherhood daily.  If I'm being COMPLETELY honest - my biggest failure of late is just my weight and trying to lose but failing over and over.

9.  What do you do for Fun?

On a rare happy day - I love to have a date with my husband.  I also love spending time with my girlfriends.  I love to be with people but I also am a homebody and just love to be home with my family.

10.  Tell me about what animals you have? (Furry things)

We had Dawson our Bichon for 13 years and had to put him to sleep this summer.  My girls are BEGGING for another dog but I'm just not ready.  Maybe in a year.  I discovered that there is a breed that is a mix of my two absolute favorite breeds - Bichons and King Cavelier Spaniels.  They don't shed and they are so cute! So maybe one day............

11.  What is your favorite FILM? (movie)

Steel Magnolias.  I could watch it over and over and over.  And I have.  I just love good old romantic comedies - You have mail, Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry met Sally. So basically anything with Meg Ryan.

12.  What is one Fact we might not know about you?

I have been in four TV commercials: for a boat company, for a bank, for a TV station and for an OB-GYN clinic.

*********************************************************************************

Okay - so what I mentioned above - there is a great team who has created a tutorial for women who are 40 plus and need some help dressing and with style.  (That would be me).  And there is also one for new mommas.  Because your body changes and it can be a challenge to dress not only for your new shape but also your new life.  Let's just say there can be some wardrobe malfunctions when you are toting a baby and a diaper bag and especially if you are nursing. ha! And maybe you are like me and are 40 plus AND a new mom - you might want both!  I have gone through both and they have a lot of great advice and assessments for you to work with what's currently in your closet and helps you make good choices on what to buy.  If you are interested - use the code KELLYSKORNER and get 60% off today through Monday and 25% off after that.  Buy now and then you can do it whenever you have time.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I can tell you all the things I am so thankful for but I was grateful for the reminder this week that the Bible tells us to be thankful IN all things.......not FOR all things.  It's not just about having a list of "blessings" - it's about being thankful to God no matter what.  That's hard sometimes.

I pray no matter what circumstances you are in - that you can find something to be thankful for today.

I am thankful for each of you.

Turkeys and Gifts

This morning, this little turkey and I are headed down to south Arkansas with Laurie and her girls.  Scott and Steve took my girls and went down on Friday afternoon.  They have been hunting and my girls have been having fun with their Gigi.  And Will Holden and I have had a great time together.  He has been super sweet.  I have been attempting to get my house cleaned up and decorated for Christmas and he has been such a good little helper.

We ate lunch and dinner with Laurie and her girls yesterday.  Today we did some shopping and got a few things done.  Saturday we managed to get most of my Christmas shopping done.  I didn't even mean to but Target had toys 30% off so I went in without a plan and pretty much finished.  We don't exchange gifts with the adults in my family so I really only have to buy for kids which makes it easy! And I also love that I can still buy Will Holden presents with him in the cart and he doesn't know or care.  I have to be super ninja spy with the girls presents these days.  ha!

I had special lunches with the kids last week.  Wednesday they had thanksgiving lunch at the girls school for parents to come to and I loved eating with them.  Thursday, Will Holden and I went and had lunch with Scott.

Friday night, Mary was in town for the weekend and my friend Marci put together a girls night.  We had a great time together!

And in case you needed a reminder............it's just 3 more days until the Gilmore girls are BACK! I'm so excited!

And in case you have those people in your circle who are hard to buy for.  We ALL have those people. Here is a different ideas for you.  Or maybe a gift for yourself! :-)

Causebox is a neat subscription to gift to someone you love or yourself.  There are a lot of subscription boxes out there but this is one that has socially conscious items that help provide meals or jobs to countless people around the world.  You receive amazing products but you are also helping others.  The Fall box is still available through the end of the month.  It's such a great gift.  You can use code KELLYSKORNER and get $10 off right now!

Friday Fellowship - Allison Tamme

I am SO happy that my guest today on Friday Fellowship is Allison Tamme!!!

I have gotten to know Allison through my blog the last few years and she is the sweetest person.  She is a cancer survivor, a runner and clean eater, a mom of two, a NFL wife and a Christ follower!
(Her husband Jacob plays for the Falcons and was hurt on Sunday and just had shoulder surgery yesterday.  His season is over so please pray for his recovery.)

Here's a little about Allison in her own words:

I'm from a small town in Kentucky and I always imagined myself marrying Jacob and staying right there in Danville, Kentucky. However, he was drafted by the Colts in 2007 and it began a nine year (and counting) tour of America! Hah! We've had seven addresses in four states and while it's not a bit what I had planned, I wouldn't change it a bit. We are almost finished building our forever home on our farm and we look forward to moving there when Jacob finishes his NFL career.

The biggest turning point in my life was my diagnosis with thyroid cancer in 2013. You can read the full story here http://www.everydayallierae.com/d-day/ .That post really explains my whole story, but the main takeaway I have from cancer is that God's hand is on every single part of our lives. He truly hold us close. And he NEVER wastes an opportunity to show us His love. Although, the days following my diagnosis were my darkest days, looking back, they are ones that I treasure most because I could literally feel His love and peace.

One charity that I would love to mention is our annual golf tournament, Swings for Soldiers Classic. www.swingsforsoldiers.org. It's held every July in Lexington, Kentucky and it supports Homes for Our Troops. HFOT builds specially adapted, mortgage free homes for wounded veterans. These homes are phenomenal and no detail is left untouched so that the veterans will have the ability to operate independently in their homes. What we love most about the Swings for Soldiers Classic is meeting a new veteran and their family each year. All of our recipient veterans and their families come back and join us at the event annually, keeping us all connected. Next year will be our eighth edition of the event... so it really has become a family of sorts! These men gave up their life as they knew it for our freedom, so the least we can do is help give them the ability to be a husband and father in their own home.

1.  What is your favorite Food?
Well, being from the south, I LOVE to eat! My diet has changed quite a bit since my cancer diagnosis, but I still enjoy treats. I cook with real foods and I'm not a bit scared of butter. My Mama's chocolate chip cookies are my all time favorite food! They are *the* best cookies and I can eat an entire batch... in a hour. Maybe thirty minutes. My second favorite food is coffee. I know, I know it's not really a food. But, since it transforms me from a mombie to a mom each day, I think it deserves a spot on this list!
2.  What is your very favorite piece of clothing right now? (FASHION)

So, truth be told, I'm not in to fashion... at all. I stick to basic pieces and half of the things in my closet are nearly a decade old. The trend I'm currently rocking is "Please look at my toddler because she is dressed fabulously while I'm wearing mismatched sweats". It's a sad but true reality. In order to save myself from embarrassment at charity events and team functions, I started ordering from Stitch Fix. I love having outfits delivered to my door that I know will be in style and nearly every pieces has fit perfectly. My one go to item in my closet are my Tory Burch Miller Sandals. I purchased them three years ago and they are my go-to shoe in the summer. Pool, church, beach, ball games. They are SO versatile and SO comfy!

3.  Tell us about your Family?
I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Jacob, and in May we will celebrate our ten year anniversary. He is a professional athlete and is in his ninth year in the NFL. He loves horse racing, golfing and reading. He's a bit of a nerd and I love that about him. When people ask us how we met and we tell them "preschool", we always get a good laugh! But, that's just the truth. There's something so wonderful about knowing your husband for nearly all of your life! We live in our "NFL city" for half of the year and the other half we live in our hometown in Kentucky. We just finished building our forever home on a farm that has been in Jacob's family since 1910. It is truly our lifelong dream to raise our family there.
Our son, Luke, is five and a half and just started kindergarten. He is so funny and keeps us on our toes. He loves football and legos and is the sweetest big brother.
Lyla Rae is our two year old daughter. She is sassy as can be and talks non-stop. We often bust out laughing when we try to discipline her because her facial expressions resemble that of an emoji! Hah!
My parents are simply amazing. I have seriously never met anyone like them. Not only will they go to extreme lengths to help our family with anything we ask of them, they are simply the best at anticipating our needs. They think of and do things for us before we even know we need them. I could not survive my crazy life without them. My sister is my best friend and I love that her little family is growing up right alongside mine. (even though we are in different states for half of the year.)

4.  What is the most important quality in your Friends? OR tell us something that a Friend has done for you that you can't forget.
Honestly, I do not have a lot of close friends. I have just a few people who really "get me" and go in the trenches me with when I need them the most. However, I have lots of friends that I love dearly, but just don't get to communicate with them as often. Living in the NFL world and moving frequently, I have learned that friendship is all about caring and making an effort to show love. When Jacob injured his shoulder last week, my phone blew up with texts from across the country from friends I've met along the way. I may not chat daily (or even monthly) with these friends, but knowing they care is so special to me.

5.  What's something you have learned recently in your Faith journey?  And/or share your favorite scripture right now and why or your favorite Bible Study or book you have read recently.
On the live version of "Your Grace is Enough" Matt Maher says, "God's word is true whether you feel it or not." That really spoke to me because sometimes I let my emotions, my feelings, or my circumstances cloud my faith. It's easy to quote scripture, read your Bible and believe His promises when life is good. But what about when it's hard, ugly and uncertain? I'm learning to lean on and trust in Him because God is good, God is love, and He never changes.

6.  What is your biggest Fear?
After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2013, my fears really changed. I used to fear flying, being diagnosed with cancer, or having someone break into our house. However, I've learned that fear is NOT of God and I'm working to turn my fears over to him. My greatest fear right now is losing someone I love dearly.
7.  What are some of your Favorite things right now?
- Coffee: Starbucks white chocolate mochas with an extra shot is my favorite, but I'll guzzle gas station coffee if that's all that's available.
- The fact that my kiddos are really starting to play with each other. I just love watching them enjoy one another.
- The song, I AM by Eddie James. Take a listen and get ready to worship!
- My current Bible Study: Uninvited by Lysa Terkeurst
- Our Cariloha Bamboo sheets. Y'all, these sheets are life changing!

8.  What has been your biggest Failure?
I fail daily. Our house is rarely clean, I forget to send Luke a snack to school at least once a week, my library books are often overdue, my blog is always getting neglected, the list could go on forever. My biggest failure is not finishing my master's degree. When I found out I was pregnant with Luke, I decided to go back to school and get my master's of arts in teaching. I completed 27 hours over the course of three years, but three cross country moves, two babies and one cancer diagnosis later, I just never finished. I still regret that. Of course, I can always go back and get my degree, but I feel like I wasted a lot of time, energy and money that I won't be able to get back.

9.  What do you do for Fun?
I'm a self taught seamstress and I love to sew and quilt when I have time. I also love to make hair bows and create learning tools on my Teachers Pay Teachers site. I love to cook and bake from scratch. There's just something so fun about turning a pile of fabric into a dress or some flour and butter into a batch of biscuits. I love watching sports and we always cheer for the Kentucky Wildcats!

10.  Tell me about what animals you have? (Furry things)
We don't have any animals right now, but we plan to in the future. I'm severely allergic to cats, dogs, horses and nearly everything with fur, but we do plan to get a farm dog. My son, Luke, asked after his sister was born, "Mama, how come some families get a dog and all we got was a baby?" So, I feel like we owe the kid a pet. Every boy needs one, right? We will hopefully have a farm full of animals in the years to come. I'm really excited about getting chickens, while Jacob is excited to have a couple thoroughbreds in the fields.
11.  What is your favorite FILM? (movie)
Oh goodness, I don't really have the attention span for movies. If I have two uninterrupted hours, I'm certainly taking a nap, not watching a movie. And if I were to sit down to watch a movie in the dark, I would probably end up falling asleep anyway. I do like to take my babies to movies though because I love to see the wonder on their faces when the screen lights up.
10.  What is one Fact we might not know about you?
I'm a recovering type A, list making freak. I feel like I could lead a support group for people like me! I do find myself making lists from time to time, but I'm not a slave to them like I used to be. I mean, I was so addicted to crossing off lists that I used to put "wake up" and "brush teeth" on them each day. Wow... that's embarrassing to tell, but it's true. Also, I love to binge watch the Game Show Network and the old game shows like $100,000 Pyramid are my favorites. After answering all of these questions I'm starting to feel like I'm an 80 year old trapped in a thirty-something body!

Isn't she precious? I'm so glad Allison came by to visit today!!!! Check out her blog:

Who needs some Christmas Cards?

I think I have told y'all many times over that probably my favorite part of Christmas (besides the magic of watching my children on Christmas morning and obviously just celebrating the birth of my Savior) - is Christmas Cards.  I LOVE getting mail and I'm never happier than in December when I open the mailbox every day to find cards full of pictures of people I love.  I basically skip to the mailbox every day.  We have a Christmas tree solely dedicated to Christmas cards.  I even know my mail carrier is Susan and I like to visit with her - that's how much I love getting the mail each day!

One of my favorite places to order cards is Minted.com.

They have so many extras besides just beautiful cards.

You can upload a picture and it will put it in all the options so you can quickly glance and see how it's going to look (instead of having to do it over and over which I have done in the past and it takes HOURS).  This is an example of how it can look:

They will also address your cards for you!!!! FOR FREE!!!! Which is basically worth the price of EVERYTHING.
It's the gift of time!!!

You can also buy the cards when there is a sale - and then go back later and personalize and make changes.  Plus the cards are beautiful!

And they have other things besides cards - like personalized WRAPPING PAPER!!! How fun would this be under your tree????

And they have non photo cards and framed holiday pictures and more.  (just click the picture above to see!)

And from now until 11/22 - they have 15% off orders of $150+ and 10% off orders of $100+!!!

And TWO of you are going to win $125 credit!!! Wouldn't that be awesome to order your cards?

Just go HERE to enter!!!!

Three Things

I have seen Andrea do this and I thought it would be fun.

I'm sharing three things about each of my family members.

HARPER

1.   Harper has been taking gymnastics and loving it.  I'm so glad she has found something she enjoys doing.  She swears she wants to play soccer in the spring.  I think she must have forgotten the debacle of soccer spring 2014.  But we may try it again.

2.  Harper is seeing two different speech therapists right now and they both have told me they think she may be finished with speech at the end of the year.  Not 100% yet but I'm so excited and proud of how far she has come.  She has gone every week for 5.5 years.

3.  She and Sarah Kate are into face timing each other right now.  It's so cute and funny.  I love little girl friendships.  They also write each other letters.

HOLLIS

1.  She is starting to read and she is SO proud of it!

2.  She and Joseph are planning to be neighbors when they grow up and both have farms.  They talk about it all the time and plan out where their garden will be.  ha!

3.  This girl is so shy and quiet but she is by far the feistiest one in our family.  She's little but fierce!

WILL HOLDEN

1.  He now insists on walking into school and church.  He starts saying "walk walk" and wants to do it himself.  He's getting so big and independent.

2.  He just makes me smile so big.  He has a twinkle in his eye and is always doing something mischievous and smiling at me.

3.  The boy is eating me out of house and home.  He just wants to eat constantly.  He goes in the pantry and brings me food nearly every 5 minutes.  And I have learned to bring a snack with me when I pick him up from MDO because when he gets in the car, he immediately starts saying "cracker?" and if I don't have a snack ready - he will scream his head off like someone has chopped his toes off.

SCOTT

1.  Scott is currently having a great year because the Cowboys are winning.  They are his #1 team and he is a happy boy.  I keep telling him the Cubs won - maybe the Cowboys will make it to the super bowl too.

2.  If we are ever lost in the woods for some very odd reason - I will feel very safe because Scott DVR's and watches every form of survivor show that has ever been on television.  All those shows where guys are dropped off and have to drink elephant poop to survive - he watches them all.

3.  Scott is SUPER organized and neat.  And one of the things I do that drives him the most nuts is I don't put the right things in the right places in the refrigerator.  And I keep arguing I didn't know there was a manual? Do you think that certain things have to go in certain places (I'm not talking like the vegetable trays, etc - I mean like on the shelves?)

ME

1.   I've been watching the Office on netflix.  I had forgotten how funny it is.  It makes me laugh out loud.

2.  I found a little clutch purse/wallet at T J Maxx last week and it was cute AND it has a phone charger in it.  So it can charge your phone when you carry it.  I have been SO excited about it.  My phone won't stay charged for more than a few hours so I have a panic attack when I'm going to be somewhere for hours because I know my phone will die.  This is helping me out! I saw a meme recently that said that it's basically like they have a landline again because their phone always has to be on a charger.  That's so me!

3.  I'm trying to get in the Christmas spirit.   I love Christmas but I have to really gear up to think about decorating and all that needs to be done in the next 6 weeks.  I know it will be a blur.

Grocery Hero

This post is sponsored by Walmart but the opinions are COMPLETELY my own.  :-)

What could be better than taking these three to the grocery store with me?????

SIGH

I actually don't mind taking my kids grocery shopping.  They usually do great but I will admit that it's a little refreshing to go alone.  And often in the summer,  I will wait until they are all in bed and go late at night when the stores are empty and it's quiet and I might even take a Sonic drink to sip while I leisurely get my groceries.  But in the winter when it's cold and dark, I hate getting back out so I take the kids or go while they are in school.

So I'm VERY thankful that Walmart started their grocery pickup service!!!! Have you tried it? I started using it when it was a test run in my town and I was very pregnant with Will Holden and could barely walk the store without going into labor.  It was a life saver honestly.  And then when he was a newborn - I loved not having to get a baby out.  And even now, it's just so convenient and easy!

Like yesterday - I booked a time online at my local store for right after school.

And I spent maybe 10 minutes getting all the things I needed.  It's all sorted by category or I just search for what I want and options pop right up.

And there are tons of organic options if that is what you like.

They called me to tell me it was ready 30 minutes before my time slot.  You can call them when you get there or there is an app that you can check in when you are leaving wherever you are and it will GPS for them how long it will take you to get there so they can know when you will arrive.  (It's the Walmart grocery app).

The kids and I pulled into our slot and they came right out and put the groceries in the back of my car for me.  I never got out.  And they offered to let me check the produce and eggs before they loaded it for me.  The entire thing took maybe 5 minutes.  I imagine for working moms or single moms - this would be the best gift ever!!! And there is NO extra charge for this.

Have you used the pickup service and is it in stores by you?

And since next week is Thanksgiving and you might be doing a lot of extra shopping - this might be a great time to try it out.  Check it out to see if there is a store near you that offers pickup!

Which by the way - if you aren't using the Walmart Savings Catcher app or the Ibotta App - you are missing out on EASY free money.

I'm not cooking Thanksgiving but if I was - some of my favorite sides to go with the turkey are:

Hashbrown Casserole

1 package frozen hashbrown casseroles
1 8 oz container sour cream
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups cheddar cheese
Cornflakes
1 stick butter melted

Combine 1st 4 ingredients and put in a 9 x12 baking dish. Top with cornflakes and melted butter. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Green Bean Bundles

This is something I make that I don't have an exact recipe for and I'm one of those people who doesn't fully measure out everything so I'll do my best ........these are SO yummy!

Ingredients:
2 or 3 cans of whole green beans
Bacon slices
1 stick of butter
1 cup of brown sugar
tsp of garlic salt

Wrap a handful of green beans in half a slice of bacon. That makes one bundle - keep going for as many bundles as you would like to have. Melt a stick of butter and stir in one cup of brown sugar (more or less depending on how sweet you would like it). Add a teaspoon of garlic salt. Pour over bundles. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Then put under the broiler for 4-5 minutes at the end. DELICIOUS!

And instead of Sweet Potato Pie like most people make - I would make

Roasted Sweet Potatoes.
This is one of my favorite new sides.

Just cut up Sweet potatoes into small bite sized pieces and spread out on a baking sheet and top with olive oil and kosher salt.  Roast at 450 degrees for 30-40 minutes.  SO GOOD!!!
