Prayer Matters

Thank you for your sweet words on my Harper's crazy video! She is such a joy to me.  I can't believe she was ever that critically sick baby that I prayed would live.  There are days I worry so much about her and how she will do in school and life with her hearing. But she is SO full of fun and energy and happiness. She loves people so much. I think she's going to be JUST fine!
Parenting two little people is such a tough job but it is SOOOOO much fun.  I try so hard every day to be a good parent to them and to guide them and discipline them so they will be amazing people.  I worry that I will make mistakes that will send them to counseling or worse.  I've learned that all I can really do is parent the best I know how and mainly just to pray a WHOLE lot.
So that's what I do.

I read some really great quotes by Oswald Chambers on prayer this week.  I had to share a few:

We look upon prayer as a means of getting things for ourselves; The Bible idea of prayer is that we may get to know God Himself.

We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties.

The whole meaning of prayer is that we may know God.

You say, "But He has not answered." He has, He is so near to you that His silence is the answer. His silence is big with terrific meaning that you cannot understand yet, but presently you will.

Prayer has always been so important to me - but God is really working on my heart on prayer lately.

I cooked this tonight.

Praying for all of you who are struggling. With Anything.  God hears you. He wants to hear FROM you.
