Monday

I've had a lot of requests, updates, etc sent my way recently and because Harper and I are home today recovering from our trip - I thought I would list a few things for you to read between a few pictures of the princess (I've been messing around with Lightroom).....

  • First a PRAISE - Remember little Cora? She is the little girl who was diagnosed with cancer and passed away within a few weeks at 10 months? Words can not tell you how sad I have felt for their family especially as I treasure my little girl and try to imagine losing her after knowing her like I do. Well - they are expecing another baby! I am thankful for this joy they have been given but I'm sure it also bring sadness with it as they remember milestones of Cora's pregnancy and birth. Praise God with me and pray for them also!
  • Baby Be Blessed is the wonderful makers of precious scripture dolls. They have also donated dolls to be used by Compassion International. Now they are trying to help a very special family by having a raffle for a custom doll. They will be giving the money to the family of Arwen - a special little girl who has a seizure disorder along with many other struggles. Her mother has terminal cancer and is on hospice. You can read all about their family HERE and if you feel led - it would be a wonderful way to help them.
  • I told you recently about Natalie - a girl who lost a baby to a cord accident and her friends are now raising money to help her see a specialist who will monitor her current pregnancy. They are doing a big giveaway to help - you should check it out HERE.
  • Pray for baby Dylan who was born 2 months ago and has infant leukemia.
  • Britt who had baby Brady last week who had a collapsed lung and huge infection. I don't have a website or more info but God knows who you are praying for.
  • Pray for 6 year old Lana who had a brain aneurysm 11 days ago. She is in the children's hospital in Philadelphia.
  • Please pray for Mark and Kate. They delivered twins at 24 1/2 weeks in March, Kate's mother died a few weeks ago, Kate lost her job and they have to sell their house. Can you imagine the stress they are under? They could use our support right now.
  • Pray for Giovanni Gonzalez - a 23 year old police officer who passed away in Florida recently.
  • Check out this great organization that some moms have started to provide CUTE hospital gowns for children who are having to stay in the hospital. Maybe you will feel led to help!

I am so thankful to be able to share requests and fundraisers and to be able to use my blog to help others but I'm going to step back and take a break from listing anything else out for the next month or so. I have a couple of giveaways coming up and then I'm going to just be writing about my family for a little while. If you have an urgent request - please send it and I'll either twitter about it (kellyskorner) or put it on my links to the left! Thank you for your faithfulness to lift others up in prayers - I know it can get overwhelming!

Kelly,
I just love you to pieces. Thank you for sharing these families with us for prayer.

Mel

P.S. On a side note, I noticed you spell it "MOMMA" the other night when I see so many others spelling it "MAMA". Since I am a fellow Native Arkansan I wonder if its a Southern thing because I have always spelled it Momma. Just thought I would put it out there. lol

Please pray for my boyfriend (of 9 years) and I. We want to desperately to start a family, and get married... yet we can't due to us both losing our jobs and not being able to get new ones. Our home is in foreclosure, and today we basically scrounged up enough cash to not have out electric go off on the last day of the final notice (in 102* weather in South Florida)! Tomorrow my boyfriend has a job interview and WE could use all the prayers in the world for him to get this job. Right now we only have 1 car, so what a BLESSING it would be.
God does work in the most mysteriously ways one week ago when my bf was in the hospital for a 4 night stay... a car accident happened and a car hit a pole connected to our home... I was home alone as it was getting really dark and I started to pray for the first time in a long time, I started reading my bible and at the end of Genesis chapter one when there was evening and morning, our power came on at that second!
I was so thankful! Thank you for your web site as I read it daily and because of you my faith has been restored the past 6 months!
Thank you!

Thank you Kelly. I will be in prayer for these folks tonight.

I was wondering if you could update on the lady who had been on a business trip and went into premature labor and was admitted to the hospital? She's been on my heart, but I can't remember her website. Thank you.

Sorry I've been MIA...my youngest decided she didn't need her appendix anymore...been trying to catch up ever since...
Praying right now.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Kelly, Thank you for using your platform to lift these families up in prayer. Mark & Kate live in my hometown and these little twins' grandad works in the office next to mine so this request has been very close to our walks. I know they will be so blessed to know people are praying.

Kelly, Thank you for posting all of this on your blog, the prayer request and praises! It just breaks my heart to hear all the sadness especially when it's little babies :-( It completely brings me to tears to think what these parents have to go through and how often we as parents take for-granted how truly blessed we are to have a healthy child/children! It reminds me to Thank the Lord for Health b/c it really is such a gift and a blessing from above!! Thank you for reminding me to give our Lord and Savior the thanks and gratitude he deserves and how grateful we really are!!!
Sending prayers and blessings!
Stacey

Oh my word. I had to leave a comment because my Madeline (4) has that Ty pink monkey and carts it everywhere. It's earned the name "dirty monkey." So if Harper gets attached to hers, BUY SEVERAL! So you can rotate the washing.

You are so sweet to always post about others. I totally understand you taking a break from it for a while to focus on your family. One thing I noticed as I was clicking on the links, the link to Arwen is not working. At least not for me. Just thought you might want to know so you could see about correcting it. Thanks!!!

I am not sure if this is the right place to do it or not, but I have an urgent prayer request. A friend of my best friend needs a miracle today. She has been battling cancer for the last 2 years that started out as melanoma on her face. She has had countless treatments, experimental drugs, etc. Everything was looking very good until her most recent PET scan. She found out yesterday that she has large spots on her brain and on numerous other parts of her body. She is a young mother with two little boys, ages 3 and 5. She so desperatly wants to live to see her oldest start kindergarten this fall and she desires her youngest to just be able to remember his mama. As a mother, I can't imagine her heartache. To think that I died so early in my child's life that he has little recollection of me is just unbearable. She was supposed to enter a new experimental treatment at the Mayo Clinic soon and now they won't take her because of the spots on her brain.

I just feel so burdened for this young mother. I don't want to tell her name on here in order to protect her privacy (all of her own family doesn't even know the extent of how bad she is as of right now). Can I just ask that all of us say special prayers for "Sarah" in Kentucky?

Thanks so much!

So glad you mentioned sweet Cora. I check on them every single day and Love how Joel and Jess turned such a sad situation into one of praise by building Cora's playground. I totally teared up when Jess posted they were expecting again!

Love the latest pics of the princess! Especially love how she wrinkles up her nose when she laughs! Reminds me of my niece (who is 18 months and who is far away and who I miss a LOT!)
