Sitting around

I love this little dress that matches her bedding
And could you just die over thses shoes I got from a blogger friend Laura???
I got Harper a bumbo seat today and we had to try it out. Dawson did not know what to think about it. This picture makes me laugh. This was the first time Dawson really took an interest in his sister.
I think someone likes sitting up!!!
Look who took her first trip to TARGET today!!!!! She fell asleep on the way there so mommy got to look around for almost an hour! It was heavenly!!!! It wasn't busy and it was quiet - it was like my own personal mother's day out. ha! Ya'll know I love wal-mart but OH MY - I heart Target!

My mom sent me this video today. First I thought - "this is Hootie????" and then Hootie made me cry like a baby. All of you with babies and toddlers need to watch this..............

Too adorable! Are you using the lighting screen yet?? Just curious. I would also like to know how you get SO many great pictures of Harper looking at the camera, or smiling, or with the cutest look on her face. Secret, please!

Love the Bumbo seat! My daughter Paige used hers a ton. Glad you made it to Target, I understand the need for Target and a sleeping baby. My "baby" is almost 2 1/2 and our Target trips are not as easy as they were when she was a baby-now she wants to run around the store!

Love reading your blog!

As the Mom of a 17 year old daughter and 13 year old son...this song rings true! It won't be like this for long enough!!! I still remember thinking that I couldn't wait until they grew up and now I wish every moment past had been hours instead of minutes. It went too quickly!
Kelly, I've been following your blog since sometime last year. Prayed for sweet Harper when we were on vacation in Florida and followed every moment of her hospitalization. It's so neat to see her growing and changing. She is a blessing to our family and you are a blessing in my life. Thank you for sharing yourself on your blog!

And Harper is such a doll btw. I really wish we had a Target here (we're in Canada, so no target, but we do have Walmart....but ours aren't nearly as fabulous as the U.S. Walmarts!)

I love the Darius Rucker song... I made my husband download it and put it on my iPod. He wrote it about his own children and when he sang it on Oprah he had tears in his eyes. My little girl is 8 months now and it is hard to believe she was ever a newborn!
And Harper is absolutely precious in that outfit!

Target is a necessity. Harper is so nice to sleep through it! My two year old can say Target and knows where we're going as soon as we get close. But he identifies it as "Daddy Juice" because his Dad always shares lemonade with him there. My eight month old is juts entertained by her brother!

I LOVE that song. I downloaded the album when his first song came out last summer and it's great!

Love the first picture. Love the shoes. Love me some Target. :) Oh, and the song, that came out when my little man was first born and we weren't getting ANY sleep. We could so relate to it. Darius (Hootie) was at the Houston Rodeo and some of my friends said that he was really good and put on a great show. He even did Hootie songs. :)

Carolyn said...

Thanks for the video. I have never commented before, but followed you since Harper was born and I found you through a friend's blog. I sit mourning the loss of a friend any moment from stage 4 breast cancer, age 43. She is in her final hours, and she has 2 boys, ages 7 and 11, at our school. You never know what will cut short our time with those we love, but she can die knowing she gave her family all she could. She read to those boys from God's Word from the day she brought them home from the hospital. Who can understand God's ways? Yet they trust, and she has drawn people to Him.
This is also good for moms with older kids (mine are 8 and 10). I work and the balance of home and work is so hard. These days won't last. I hear God tell me this, too, to love my children and not allow my time with them to be full of distractions.
Anyway, I am rambling, but just wanted to thank you for your blog post, for having a blog that is a fun place to check in each day. Harper is just adorable, and you are a wonderful mom. You'll never regret choosing her over work! Enjoy these precious days.

The words are so true. Kids grow up so fast. My dad wasn't a big part of my life growing up, and my mom told him, "Before you know it they'll be grown and, you won't get that time back that you lost."

Cherish the time that you do have with Harper now.

Look at me all working ahead! :)

And that little Harper gets cuter by th eminute it seems! Such a little doll baby she is! Love those little shoes! My baby (nearly 3!) just got new shoes last week from...TARGET! We heart Target too!

I just wanted to warn you about the Bumbo! It is very dangerous and children can fall out of them very easily. My nephew fell out of his when he was a few months old and fractured his skull! Do not EVER leave her unattended for even a second if you continue to use it.

My boys LOVED their bumbo. My saying is...It's the bumbo...it's where you bum goes!

I never followed the directions though and I always put it on the kitchen counter (I would put it back as far as I could though and I was always present and close by) The boys loved to watch me make dinner and do the dishes. It's was the best. Kids love to be at your level and see your everyday life. We also put in right smack dab in the middle of the dining room table when we had dinner, that way the boys could be part of it and get used to the routine before they started eating solid food. I love that sitting up non-moving phase....well I love all the phases...they are all so fun.

I love target!!! And that video is such a tear-jerker. Sometimes when they start getting really exhausting it's easy to forget how quickly it will be over. My little guy is twenty months and seems like he's getting a jump-start on the terrible twos, but I am always reminding myself -- soon I'll wake up and he'll be all grown up and I don't want to miss a thing, no matter how tired I get.

I saw him sing this on TV last week and loved this song! His voice is fantastic and the words of this song never more true!

My oldest is 13 and I'm amazed that the time has flown by so fast. My middle starts middle school next year, I so don't want him to grow up already. And my daughter, wow, she will be 6 in just a few short weeks. I can't even believe the time has gone by s fast. When I hear this song I think when earlier in the year I would walk my daughter to class (kindergarten) every morning. Now she wants me to drive her to the 'car rider' area so she can walk with her friends! The first day was cute, the second made me cry! Wow!

I love Darius Rucker!
Praying that the Lord will always be with you no matter what the future holds.
Isaiah 43:1-3a But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour...

I read your blog every day but I've only commented once before. I HAD to comment today and tell you that I absolutely LOVE the first picture in this post! It looks like the print on her outfit is making her a little crazy-eyed - she looks mesmerized by it!!! I have to say that I love the picture of her and Dawson too! A great moment to capture for sure!!

I love that song. I love Dairus Rucker. I have a 8 month old son and it always makes me cry. He has changed some much in these short 8 months. Please savor every moment with your precious little one.

It won't be like this for long...so true! My daughter is 2 and I already miss the "baby" she was. I love the current "phase", but still look back and miss what's already gone.

I remember the days of my baby boy sleeping in his infant carrier. In the words of Hootie "it won't be like this for long" so enjoy!

LOVE the song...such a good reminder to enjoy each stage of your child's life.

LOVE HER LITTLE OUTFIT. So cute! And that Darius Rucker song is one of my favorites. He is from my hometown, Charleston and this video was taped RIGHT HERE! Right down the street from my office! : )

Kelly, That is one sharp dressed little girl! Love the dress and wondering where I can find it in my 8 year old daughters size, along with some matching bedding as well.

I have heard that song several times, but never LISTENED to it like I did today. It really made me realize that both of my kids are growing up. I cannot rock or hold my 11 year old son anymore, and my 8 year old daughter is full of drama! But, I still would not trade the nights that they crawl in my bed for anything in the world. Just to be able to "hold" them while they are asleep is a blessing. My son is almost as tall as I am so I can only "hold" him when he is laying next to me on the couch or when he sneaks in my bed at night.

Thank you for posting this video today! I love your blog and look forward to seeing Harper's cute little self every morning!

This is the first time that I have left a comment on your blog...but I read it all of the time!! Your little girl is just so sweet!! She is about the same age as my little boy!! I was going to say that I LOVE that song!!! Isn't it true that kids grow up so fast!! It makes me think of my life and how fast it goes as well. I lost my dad about the same time that I had my little baby boy...so the circle of life just keeps going...no matter how hard it is.

ah, another adorable outfit from miss Harper! I love the seat too. Not to mention I just posted this same video about my Charli Beth! I love Darius Rucker, whether it's by himself or w/ hootie & blowfish! It's an amazing song, and video. Something that all of us can relate too. I love the curly hair, and the new tee's are ADORABLE!!!!!!

Lauren loved her Bumbo seat. We have one in the same color! I let my step sister borrow it for my nephew and had to laugh when I saw him in a pink seat.
