Luck of the Irish

Happy Saint Patrick's Day from the Stamps!
It was Harper and Dawson's LUCKY day because they both had to go to the doctor for shots!
and LUCKY for me - I got to take both of them.
Harper was NOT happy to be at the doctor but her pediatrician calmed her right down and she just smiled and cooed for him. She got a really good report. She's 12 lbs now and in the 75% percentile for both weight and height so she's just a normal girl! She is right on step if not ahead on all development milestones so that is a huge praise!
(P.S. Ya'll are funny - I DO think our pediatrician is single!! I'm just saying..........................) :-)

Dawson got his annual shots today and he did really good. He was just happy to go for a ride!
Yesterday and today have been GORGEOUS spring days! Yesterday Harper and Dawson and I got out and took TWO walks and in between we went for a ride around town. We were all very happy and loved it. Is Harper a cool chick in her shades or what???
She slept most of today so we didn't go for a walk but hopefully we can get back out tomorrow.
I just love this little dress - I couldn't wait for her to wear it!

Here are some prayer requests for ya'll to lift up tonight........
1. Little Lillian needing a heart transplant

2. Sweet baby just passed away - had Trisomy 13 - pray for his family and offer them encouragement if you have time.
http://evanandrew.wordpress.com/
3. Isabella has mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome, which is fatal in infants.
www.jenmagee.blogspot.com
4. Austin Dale, newborn in AL, is having seizures caused by bleeding of the brain - please pray.
5. Darren and Charity delivered triplets at 24 1/2 weeks - one did not make it - the other two are in the NICU.
6. Rebekah is due to arrive this summer and will need heart surgery
http://rebekahgraceellis.blogspot.com/2009/03/rebekah-grace.html

And last - there is a silent auction going on at this site to help bring their very special baby home that they are adopting - go visit it and win!

Thanks for the prayer request for Darren and Charity! Unfortunately their little girl, Miley Jane, passed away Monday night. She had a Grade 4 Intravesticular Hemmorage in her brain last week. On a happier note, little Harper is so cute in her little Irish dress!!

Green never looked so good!

I'm loving the Harper Monogrammed dress... It's too cute... Also loving the tres tres chic sunglasses. She makes fashion look so easy, but I'm sure we all have YOU to thank for that.

NICU babies seem to always know when they're going to the doctor's, it must be the smell... But hey if I had a cute doctor grinning at me like that I'd smile too! *chuckles*

Prayers on full force for those families!

Hi Kelly- The pictures of Harper are absolutely adorable. I hope you don't mind me mentioning this but I wanted to send you a link to some research on Bichon health and new vaccine protocols. http://www.bichonhealth.org/Health.asp
My friend is the health chair for the Bichon Club of America and they strongly advise, along with the American Animal Hospital Assn against getting annual vaccinations. There are updated vaccine protocols on the above website. There is recent research showing vaccines lasting 7+ years. Overvaccination can cause lots of health issues including allergies, diabetes, autoimmune issues, etc. We do titer testing on our 2 bichons and haven't had to vaccinate them for the past few years because they still have immunity shown in the titer test. Just wanted to pass along this info. Many vets still continue with the annual vaccines even though it is widely known that the core vaccines are good for at least 3 years because it generates a lot of revenue for them.

Kelly, If you have contact with the couple that delivered the triplets, could you direct them to the Triplet Connection? There is a bereaved forum where they can get support. Also, there are a couple of families who have delivered at 24 w so know the steps that the NICU tango can take. They do have a very long road.

Thanks for adding the Creative Blogs on. Maybe they were not missing like I thought. Love them!

I am very excited. My daughter, who had a miscarriage is expecting. Praying.

Hey Kelly - great to hear Harper is doing so well!!! A couple quick notes - I am a child passenger safety technician - I know that picture of H in her car seat was when you were going for a walk, but I just wanted to mention in passing that the harness is too loose for riding in the car - to determine if your harness is tight enough, you perform the pinch test at the collarbone - basically if you can pinch the webbing together horizontally, you need to tighten things up a bit more until you cannot make that pinch.

I wonder if you would also mention the fundraiser that we are running right now for the foundation - details are here - http://bombedier.blogspot.com/2009/03/spring-car-seat-raffle-for-kyle-david.html. The Kyle David Miller Foundation donates high weight capacity harnessing car seats to low income families across North America - we have been able to assist approx 500 families since our inception in December 2006. Thank you so much!!!

Kelly, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this comment. But I'm new to the whole blogging thing, so please forgive me if it isn't. Anyways, I wanted to ask you and all of your faithfull followers to please pray for my fiance's niece, Kaitlin. Kaitlin is the most precious little fourth grade girl who, up until about a year ago, was active and extremely atheletic. Now, a year later and after being diagnosed with a very rare form of lou gehrig's disease, Kaitlin is confined to a wheel chair and has a hard time even speaking. It's broken all of our hearts. And yet, Kaitlin, the one who is actually suffering from the disease, remains happy and in love with life. Please, please pray for Kailin and her family. God can and does work miracles! Thank you!!!!
