Short and Sweet

Really this is what we do every day - Harper is sleeping a lot these days. She eats, we change diapers, I sing songs and read books and I dress her up and take pictures. I can't take her anywhere or show her off and she has a closet full of clothes. I need someone to see her cuteness people!!! Thanks for indulging me. (If nothing else - the grandparents enjoy it).
Harper looks so much like me in my baby pictures but she has Scott's eyes. I'm so thankful. I have small, dark beady eyes and I prayed that Harper would have big eyes. Yes - that is the most shallow prayer I've ever prayed. But God cares about the details. (I would have loved her just as dearly if she got my beady eyes).

We just got our dinner delivered and I'm laughing because everyone was instructed just to drop it off on our doorstep and ring the doorbell and leave like the UPS man. It's funny to open my door at night and see food sitting there.
We have only watched part of American Idol so far. All I really have to say so far is :
WHAT IS UP WITH THE SHOES??????

Please tell me this is not a new trend!!! I'm getting old and out of style and I'm trying to at least not wear MOM jeans. But when I get back in the real world - will I be wearing Air Jordans unlaced????? HELP! If they bring back big hair - I'm OUT!

Are you watching and who do you like so far????

Girl, my face always hurts after reading your posts because my smile gets SO big. :-) The rhinestone H, the gorgeous eyes, and knowing the awesomeness of Harper's sweet and funny momma all contributed to The Smile elicited from this one. :-)

Kelly, I just had to tell you how thrilled and thankful I am that Harper is doing so well. We moved about a month ago, and I've been using my husband's computer lately, so the last that I knew was that things were still very serious with her and while you believed she would be ok, you didn't know for certain. So to come here and see a big, beautiful, healthy baby at HOME was just amazing. Praise God for his marvelous kindness to you!

As for A.I. ... I was really disappointed with more than half of the contestants on Tuesday. What's-her-name's shoes were bad, but I thought her "Sandy from Grease" tights/pants were even worse. Painful! And I'm really not happy with how they are doing eliminations this season. Cutting EVERYONE but the Top 3? That leaves no room for people to grow in their performing! The whole thing left me irritated.

Harper is beautiful! As for AI, I have only seen one episode and I wasn't impressed by any one. The picture I have in my head of food being dropped off, too funny!

I LOVE Alexis Grace and Danny Gokey so far.

Oh, and Tatiana the drama queen KILLS ME. She was good for raising an eyebrow (and sort of laughing and sort of being weirded out at the same time) while it lasted though, right?

I love seeing Harper's many "hats". As far as the idol stuff, I'm too old for all of the things she is wearing (lol).

I have loved Harper's eyes from the beginning! :) And she is the cutest thing EVER!!!! I have always wanted a baby girl to dress up like that, but God had other plans and that's OK...thanks for sharing all the pics...I love looking at each one...even though we'll probably never meet until we get to Heaven. God bless you and your family! :)

She has beautiful big eyes! My first son has huge eyes and I love them!

The Shoes??? What about those pants? What was she thinking????

I love Danny (or the man with a million glasses as he is known in our household). His story of recently losing his wife makes me cry everytime they should a picture of her.

I just can't believe HOW HORRIBLE THE WHOLE OUTFIT IS!!!!!! I mean REALLY??? That look is never good no matter what year it is! My step daughter is 11 and their new craze is leg warmers!!! (GASP!) Just isn't even right!!!

On a brighter note, Harper is sooooo BEAUTIFUL!!! I love that you dress her up just for pictures! They will be great memories when she is older!

Girl...you do not have beady eyes! That made me laugh!

Harper gets more beautiful by the day!

beady eyes? girl.. no.you.dont!!! ISnt funny how we see ourselves, yet others dont see what we see? Every time i see a pic of Harper.. i think she looks just like her daddy! She's so precious.. and dress her up all you want cause when they get older, lord have mercy they have their OWN ideas of what's hot ;) I saw Harper had some black and white striped leggings on.. are those Baby legs? i used to be a buyer/mngr for a boutique and LOVED those things! i have about 15 pairs for my girls and honest to goodness they are used DAILY on them! At night, i put them on my toddler under jammies to keep her war, under skirts, on their arms, etc.. they also have some like it in FUN prints on EBAY u nder the seller Lisi Legs.. i LOVE them.. i probably would wear them myself if i didnt look like a freak- Have a good day!

Hi,

I found your blog through some friends. I just wanted to comment that I prayed the same prayer about the eyes for my two kids...and the Lord answered. You're right, he does care about the little things.

Love all the pictures that you are taking. The highlight of my day is logging on and seeing what new picture you have added.

American Idol... Not sure about the whole outfit. I love Danny and the story that he carries. It just makes me tear to know that he is still following his dream.

Prayer Request: My uncle had a heart transplant yesterday and seems to be doing well and in ICU recovering. I have been praying for him and the family that lost their loved one and made the decision to give my uncle another chance at life. (His name is Jim Rose and he is at DUKE.) Please keep these two families in your prayers.
Thanks!
Kelly

Keep those adorable outfit changes coming. My little one is a boy, and I still put him through outfit changes and made sure I got pics in each of them at least once! My hubby didn't know what to do with me! But, I just got SO many cute boy clothes...I can only dream of the day when I have a baby girl!

We are so blessed by Harper's story (plus Harper is my maiden name:-))

I would like to see 9,732 photos of Harper this month. :) and twice that many next month so you just keep right on snapping shots of that precious, beautiful little girl.

On Idol... my fav 3 of the first group all went through... yay! Danny is my fav!

Danny from Milwaukee is my favorite! The shoes...not so much!

She is a doll. Keep the pictures coming as I love them!

I felt like I was having an 80's flash back. Those shoes were something else. I'm hoping Danny goes far.

I'm glad to see Miss Harper is always in fashion. :)

I never get tired of seeing pictures of her. She is a doll!

I am rooting for Kris Allen. He is from Conway. He is my brother's girlfriend's best friend's husband. So, you know, we are REAL tight. :) Really, I have never met him but I know he is a very talented great Christian guy. I hope he goes far! I was surprised to hear how much control they have over what song they sing at this stage. The song he will sing next week is like his 6th pick or something. The producers have to approve their song. I definitely think they push the people they like.

Also, his wife was UofA Homecoming Queen a couple of year's ago, so they are big hog fans!!!!! Another plus in my book!

Danny and Alexis - my favs so far!

Okay, when I saw that outfit I thought I was watching a scene from Flashdance!

I can't wait until next week - there are sooo many good people this year!

Whoever said not to let this turn into a baby blog...do they not know what a blog is supposed to be????? Isn't a blog supposed to be the story of YOUR life? Harper IS your life! I love seeing her every day, and I hope that doesn't change. Congrats on a healthy baby girl! Jesus gives nothing less than perfect gifts.

okay, I've been following Harper's progress and let me start by saying how happy and excited I am that she is at home, growing and doing great! You all are truly blessed. Now, today, I started my own blog www.mommyslittleblessing.blogspot.com and I would love to know more about how to get my blog out there the huge world of bloggers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! I look forward to sharing my life with other women and spreading the love of Christ!! Also, I live here in the town where Stephen Ormon grew up tell him that Angela Waltman (now Sullian) said hello and congrats on the new nephew coming in August! It was weird the day you posted a pic of he and Laurie visiting ya'll in the hospital . . . I was like, "hey, I know that guy!" Anyhoo, I'm so happy for you all and I pray that little Harper continues to thrive!! BTW, I have a 15 month old! Have a great day!!

So...Harper is ADORABLE and I love that you dress her up just to stay home. I do that with mine also! :)

On American Idol...Michael Sarver was in my youth group so I am definitely going for him just because I know him, he has a great voice, and he's always aspired to be a singer.

Krystal said...

I gotta say I don't see little beady eyes when I look at pix of you. You're probably much harder on yourself than your loved ones are, same as me.

I don't care what shoes are fashionable. If they aren't comfortable and cute to me, I say forget about it.

Not sure I'd do big hair again; mine's getting thinner and thinner by the week, it seems. I do wish I had a little fluffier texture, though!

So glad Harper is doing so well!

Andrea said...

Oh my! She is so darling & those clothes and head pieces are too cute for words!

And... HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU GET OVER 2000 FOLLOWERS! AMAZING! ;-)

Those shoes are sooo not in. I guess those liquid leggings and big belt are in, but the combination she put together was just obnoxious!

Michele said...

Oh Kelly...keep those pictures coming. I should send you a picture of my Cassie...they could be twins..the hair and the big eyes!!!

I thought the same thing about those shoes...but my fav is Danny Gokey...he's the BEST! Maybe I'm partial cuz he's from Milwaukee!

Hugz,
Michele

Got to love Danny and Scott (will be coming later)

Harper is precious and I love that you're dressing her up and taking so many pics of her! That's what girls are for!! :)

Love that someone else commented on her outfit. Doesn't the show have stylists to help the fashion helpless? I'm cheering for Danny Gokey right now and I like Michael too.

I love all of Harper's monogrammed stuff! It is so fun!

P.S. I know what you mean about the shoes - I will not be following that trend if it really comes back in!

Hey Kelly,
I'm a friend of Jamie Garner's and I've been checking your blog and praying lots for you and Harper. She is absolutely beautiful. Her eyes are stunning. And I love that you dress her up and take pictures. I did that so much with my first daughter. Her mother-n-law made her lots of dresses and I loved dressing her up and taking pictures of her. Now, she's 4 years old and we have another girl who is 21 months old, but I hate to say, I didn't dress her up and take her picture as much as the first. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I know you are really enjoying Harper. I know the lack of sleep is hard and getting her on a schedule and everything, but hang in there.

Kelly, What is/are your favorite devotional books? I'm looking but really have no idea where to start. Also, do yo know of any that are over email? I would love to open my inbox each morning and start the day off with thoughts of God, especially while I'm at work (I work in a major pediatric hospital). There are a few girls out there asking the same questions, so if you have time to do a blog post on this, I'm sure we would all really appreciate it. Enjoy those cheeks, btw, they don't last forever!! Harper is a doll!

I love seeing all the fun outfits you have for miss Harper. :) She is quite the cutie.
I am hoping that those shoes are NOT a new trend......

Annette said...

Yeah I'm with you on the shoes!!! Glad she is gone. Love the guy that lost his wife and the blonde single mom with the red highlights.

Little Harper looks like she is just a little princess!! She seems to be adjusting great.

lol - I was trying to pretend to like her outfit because I think she is a spunky girl and I like her, but yea, the whole get up has got to go!

As as for talent, as far as I am concerned, we should just grown Danny now! =)

And, yes, a gal at a retail store mentioned that 80s stuff is coming back into style - not too sure about that as didn't care for it the first time around!

Danny Gokey is going all the way! :)

Your little one is precious... seriously Gerber baby beautiful!

I agree...the shoes were really bad! She could have at least wore some sexy heels or something like Sandy did in Grease! I am with you, no Mommy jeans, but I am out if the hight tops come back! YICKS!!!

Harper looks great and I am sure that you just cannot get enough of her. She is so cute and I am so glad that she is doing well. God bless you!
