Sunday

Sweet Harper continues to improve day by day!!! She is now at 39% oxygen!!! And they are taking her Nitric oxide down as well as most of her other drugs. Hopefully by this time next week we will be looking into her eyes and holding her!!!!

Scott went home today to take some stuff and get our mail and get his work computer so he can work from here next week. We are SO thankful because his work has been SO good to him and not only have allowed him to be off as long as he needs to but gave us a generous gift. We are both blessed to work for great companies. He will be back soon. Mom and I went to Wal-Mart this morning to do some shopping. I was in such a hurry to get over here last week that I only brought about 3 outfits with me and we are in store for an ice storm so I thought I could get a few sweaters at Wal-Mart. (They have a new line called Max that is SO CUTE!!!!!)
This sweet couple, Jennifer and Justin, came to see me today and she made me the cutest diaper cake EVER! I love it so much! (They are pictured below at the top)
We didn't expect any visitors today but we still had several - we are so thankful for each of you who came to see us today!

I love this song so much. This is something I listened to over and over and over as I waited for God to give me a baby. Some of you wonder how I can have a positive attitude or joy in the midst of a trial? Listen to this song - God is each of the things listed in this song to me. He is my strong tower, my strength, my fortress, my deliver, my shelter, my very present help in time of need.

Please pray for me - I'm getting a cold and don't feel real well. I'm going to take some medicine and go to bed early. I'm very healthy and never get sick but I'm probably a little rundown from the pace we've been keeping for the last 10 days. I CAN'T be sick - or I can't visit Harper and that would be really hard! Pray I wake up feeling much better so I can whisper in her ear all day tomorrow about how pretty she is!

Oh, Kelly. Get some meds in you STAT! You have to be able to be with Harper. Surely there's a doctor in there who knows how to treat "Mommies." Drink lots of water and wash your hands a lot. Sending good thoughts your way.

I am praying for you and baby Harper.

If you do get a cold I highly recommed taking Mucinex Extended Release to help feel faster much sooner! It won't combat the virus , but it will help the congestion go away much faster and keep it moving out of the chest!

Kelly - It sounds like things continue to go well for Harper. What an answer to prayer. Yep. You better throw off that cold. The dry air in the NICU always made me cough. I always had to make sure I had something to suck.

There was a baby named Iris in an isolette between two of the boys. Her family was almost always there. I found out much later (there was an article in the newspaper about her because she was such a preemie) that she was a twin, but her sibling did not survive. It made me feel so bad. We were rejoicing over our three and how sorrowful they must have been. I regret so much not reaching out in some way but everyone in the NICU pretty much came and went and kept to themselves - wrapped up in their own dramas, so to speak.

Rest well Kelly.

Dear Kelli

My first baby was in the hospital for awhile--with the same problem. I started not feeling well. It ended up that I had a breast infection. I had been pumping for him, but it's not the same as nursing. I don't know if you are pumping milk or not, but it is a thought. Since I was a first time mom I had no idea it could be that. I had flu like symptoms and felt horrible. The worst thing was not seeing my baby for a couple days.

blessings to you

Your in my prayers, especially tonight, for healing and feeling "better" tomorrow. Everyone has said it already, but drink lots of warm fluids (helps with sore throat/sinus congestion), and take VitC, Lysine and B12. Hope you sleep well and start the week off feeling great!

I hope you don't get sick... I had a cold and had to miss two days while my husband was in the hospital. Kelly, looking forward to seeing pictures of Harper nestled in your arms with her beautiful eyes open gazing up at you!! The day will come and soon!!! You have been keeping an amazingly fact and stressful pace. I will be praying that you kick this cold quickily. A piece of advice if you are still feeling under the weather tomorrow because I know it would be EXTREMELY hard to not visit your daughter for a day, but also just how bad it would be for Harper to catch anything from you- send someone back out to Walmart and get a digital recorder. March of Dimes gave us one when our daughter was in the NICU. It was so nice to be able to let the nurses play it so Cadence could hear our voices singing, reading stories and talking to her when we weren't able to be at the NICU with her. That way she could still her her mommy's loving voice whispering about how pretty she is and you can be getting the rest you need. But hopefully you'll be feeling fine tomorrow! Praying!

Hi Kelly,
I've used your verse of Ephesians 3:20 recently in my life and spread it my friends who are going through difficulties

Our sweet Jesus has many plans for this sweet girl. I can't imagine how hard this is.

My son was in a body cast with a broken femur when I was 8 months pregnant. He was estimated to be there for 6 weeks. He was. I thought we'd never see the end. It was rough.

You're going to look back at this and marvel at the strength you had and the magnitude of friendships that surround you.

Thank you so much for letting me to "peek" in your life. I'm honored.

Walmart sells Oscillococinum. We take that. It has no side effects with anything and should be fine for you to take. It pulled Hubs out of a funk last night.

We don't want you to miss time with Harper, but slow down and take a little time. Baby girl is being well cared for and if you need to kick back for just a moment and relax a bit, there isn't anything that says you should feel guilty about that. Baby girl (and everyone else) just wants you to be well. You haven't been able to stop since you've had her!

Take care of you!

You mentioned that you are not feeling well. Get some Emergen-C at Walmart or a drug store. It is vitamin C that you put in water. You can drink it several times a day. Especially when you feel run down.

Hope this helps. I'll be checking back in for more good news.

Take care,

Kelly,

Like so many across God's wonderful world I don't know you; but you and your sweet family have become such a very important part of my day. I found your blog a few weeks before you were due. My 2nd son was one on the 18th and I as you anticipated the days until Harper's birth I found myself reminising about that wonderful time in our lives. My two boys have never had more than the sniffles and I can not even begin to imagine what you are experiencing. Like everyone else, I find your strength and faith so very amazing. Reading your blog has become part of my devotion. It's so uplifting and comforting and hopeful! I think and pray constantly for you all.
I met my sister in law for lunch today and as we were visiting I said to her "There is a girl who was at OBU whose baby and before I could even finish she said 'are you talking about Harper?-I am obssesed with keeping up with her and they are the cutest family ever!'" We laughed that we had both found your blog through COMPLETELY different sets of friends! Just wanted to let you know that there are two more people praying constantly for your family. And I hope you feel better tomorrow!

Hi Kelly,
I found your blog from reading a friend of a friend's, but I want to be added to your list of people who are PRAYING desperately for a baby. You can read more of my story at www.thehallherold.blogspot.com (not that you need to right now. You your hands FULL). Long story short is that we have been told that we can only have a baby through invitro. Our insurance doesn't cover it, etc. We found out though in December that we were pregnant and were so excited about our miracle from God. We went in for our 8 week ultrasound on January 12th to find that we were pregnant with twins, but had lost them both. I know God can do anything and I have faith that is much larger than a mustard seed. My name is Jessica Hall. Please add me to the list. Harper is on my mirror (I write people to pray for on my bathroom mirror so I won't forget). I will pray for her every day. Sorry for the LONG comment. I'm praying for strenght for you guys!

Kelly, get you some Zicam from Wal-Mart and start taking it. (Of course, check the label about taking it when you are nursing (preparing to nurse). It works wonders. If you start taking it at the first sign of a cold, it makes the cold go away so much faster. We will pray also for you though that you don't get sick. We love you and pray that God will continue to do His extraordinary work there in Tulsa.

HI Kelly! I still look forward to reading your posts. Even through these trials, you are still uplifting. I was just telling my mother and 92 year grandmother about you. We are all southern baptist women too! Anyway, they were so uplifted on how God is working in your life through little Harper. Please get some rest. Harper needs your sweet whispers! hugs! When we are getting run down in this house or feeling like we may be getting sick we take something called "Emer-gen-C" It's a drink mix and you can find it in the Walmart vitamin section. It doesn't taste too bad or too good either ;o) but it gives you alot of vitamins. It's amazing- works wonders. The last thing any of us would want is for you to get sick and not be able to whisper to Harper. Get lots of rest!!!

Thank you for sharing that song! I needed to hear a song just like that tonight!!! I've never heard that song before- love it!!!

Harper is as cute as ever. I'm loving the diaper on backwards since she is on her tummy. Those chubby cheeks are to die for. She is so beautiful!

We continue to pray for all of you!

Feel better!!! XOXOXO

My four year old daughter, Sophia, can totally recognize Harper now when she sees me checking your blog. She loves hearing about "Baby Harper" and I love sharing how God is healing her! She was asking me today when Harper will get to get out of the hospital. Praying you get well quick! Take care of yourself so you can take care of Harper! It's so hard to do that as a Mommy, and I can't even imagine how much harder it is for you to take time for yourself when your baby is in the NICU. God bless you Kelly!

Hi Kelly,

We have never met, but I just wanted to let you know that I have been praying for Harper, you, and Scott since last weekend.

That is such a beautiful song--it reminds me of Psalm 18:2, the verse that God gave me during a difficult time in my life.

I know that God is holding Harper in the palm of His hands and I've been praising Him every time I read that she is improving each day. Glory to God!

God is doing such amazing things through you. Continue to cling to Him. I'm praying that God's loving presence will strengthen you and Scott and that He will continue to heal your precious baby. Thank you for sharing your love for Christ.

Your sister in Christ,
Jennifer

I can only imagine how it will feel to hold your baby girl after patiently waiting SO long. I pray that the moment comes soon. How WONDERFUL that will feel. How blessed I feel to read your story your heart is so open. YOU are an amazing person and Harper is so blessed to have you as a mommy. You may never read this, but please pray for this child too. I feel almost selfish asking this of you, but you have seen God's work in your own child. You have prayed for all the other babies. Please go here and check it out.

www.breezyacresblogspot.com

Her name is Cora and she was diagnosed Friday with stage four Neuroblastoma. Her family is as precious as yours and her mother and father's heart is so open with God too. As you have seen over the last couple of days prayers work and miracles happen.
Your princess is beautiful. I know you can't wait to teach her and guide her to know and love Christ like you do. And tell her about the kingdom that awaits her in Heaven. But for now, we see her place is here on Earth with her mother and loved ones surrounding her, as well as all the years she has to wear all those Prissy bows and dresses with her name embroidered on them. And tears to cry over broken hearts. (or maybe she will be breaking hearts) I can't wait to read your blog and hear updates on that!! That time is coming. All too soon. Your smile is so beautiful even in a time of trial. But YOu have chosen to not let evil into YOUR heart. Again, YOU are truly amazing!

Please pray for 10 month old Cora and her long journey ahead. Please pray that the Lord gives the doctors the knowlege to treat Cora's illness. Please pray the the Lord heals Cora, please pray for peace for her mother and father. please tell people to lift her and her family up.
Thanks so much.

Oh no! So sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well, but, so glad that Harper is doing well. You're probably feeling run down because you've been so busy being such a good Mommy to Harper. Take care of YOU. We're praying for you to get better and Miss Harper to hurry up and get better too!

Thank you for all you do, Kelly. I was sitting at church today thinking of you and thinking about how although you are going through a great trial right now, I was thinking about how amazing the work is that you are able to do--you have been able to share the power of God with so many people, and inspire and motivate so many. What a blessing you are to everyone whose life you have touched.

Oh, I hope you don't get sick! The common cold is so annoying, and especially if it keeps you from being near sweet Harper!!! Praying you feel fine in the morning!

That's so great that Scott's work has allowed him the flexibility to work from there next week. I was wondering if he would have to go back home--I really didn't want you to have to stay in Tulsa without him! I hope this week shows as much (or even more!) improvement for H...it sounds like she's doing GREAT, and I'm so thankful! You'll be home-sweet-home with her before you know it...hang in there! We love you guys and we're still thinking about you constantly.

I haven't looked at the weather for the week...I didn't know about the winter storm!? Guess I'd better check! I sure hope it doesn't snow and cancel MDO this week because I'm in a panic over how much I need to do to get ready for A's birthday party next Saturday...I'm really counting on every second of that MDO time! :)

Kelly,
We have been praying up here in the 'burgh since we found out about sweet, beautiful Harper last week. We will continue to lift her in prayer as well as the rest of your family.
Just know that you do have to rest and take care of yourself, which I know will never totally be able to happen until you are all HOME again together, but make sure to take something so you nip this cold in the bud. I have been praying that you are strong (physically as well as emotionally) while on this journey, for I remember how sore I got sitting in that NIC-U day after day, just waiting for our little guy to get to come home.
Thank you for all the wonderful daily updates. The bows in her hair, and her on her tummy just bring me to tears, how precious she is!
Keep fighting Harper, we are all praying!!

As I was reading your blog today this verse came to mind.

He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint.

Take care of yourself!...easier said than done when all you want to do is sit by that sweet girls side.
I don't question or wonder for one second about your postive attitude. Your right...He is our very present help in time of need. We never feel his presence more than when we ARE in the midst of trial and suffering. Perhaps that is why we go through them. We realize our utter dependence on Him.

You will look back on this experience in a few months and realize just how much strength you had. Strength that was given to you by God.
Thank you for keeping us updated on Harper's progress.
