Hats and Cookies

Last week - this precious lady Shannon e-mailed me and said she that she makes bows and would like to send me one. ONE. I was thrilled. I got her package today - look at all the cuteness she sent me!!! I'm taking two of those hats to the hospital with me so expect to see in those in the very first pics of Harper. She has a website where she makes the most amazing bows!! You have to check them out! I have already picked out a couple I am going to order for the future. www.carybows.com

I've been looking at Easter dresses lately because it will be here before I know it - wouldn't this bow be so cute with one of the dresses below????

And this turkey bow would be the greatest with the Thanksgiving dress I have for Harper for next year!

(Found all these dresses on e-bay - just put in "custom easter dress or custom thanksgiving dress" or "smocked easter dress")
I spent my afternoon making decorated sugar cookies to give to any visitors we might have at the hospital. If It don't have Harper tonight......I plan to do one more little thing to go with the cookies.
And then I'll put them in little bags with cute ribbon.
You can find the recipe here on my recipe blog for these cookies with royal icing. It's my first attempt ever with royal icing - it's fun!

Those are awsome bows! You are so sweet with the cookies. Just a warning, after Harper comes you may not get to do all of this ever again. I try to get things done but it doesn't always happen. A. is getting big enough now that he is starting to "help" which is fun.

That is such a cute idea! I have been checking your blog daily to see if Harper is here yet!

Hope your sweet baby comes soon.

Miss those sweet bishop dresses!! My baby girls are already 19, 17 and 12. It seems like yesterday I was learning how to smock. Enjoy them (and the hairbows) while you can. They grow up wanting three hundred dollar prom dresses and spray tans in no time!

You are so cute to be making favors for Harper's guests! I have never ever heard of that before. If I ever have another hospital birth I'll have to copy you!

Can't wait to get on here and see that you are at the hospital. I have been checking frequently! Have a great Sunday. This will probably be your last Sunday without a baby!

Kelly - you are amazing! So very thoughtful, creative and tons of energy! You are gonna be the best mom! Praying you have a smooth delivery!

Oh my goodness, those bows and hats are just adorable! I'll have to check her site for sure. Now if we could just get Shelby's hair to grow in thicker. LOL

First the nurse gift bags and now cookies for visitors..........girl you amaze me. Seriously you need to think about your days to come too.........save some sweetness for those late night feedings. :)

BTW, I forgot to tell you something I did in the hospital with Shelby. I had a Longaberger basket kiddie purse with me. I bought it special for Shelby. On the inside of the cover I had the doctor put Shelby's foot print. Then everyone signed it......the nurses, doctor, epidural guy (who I loved! LOL) and then Craig & I. She still has it on her dresser. I used to keep her baby stuff........first hair curl, hospital bands, etc. Now it keeps her pony-o's. :)

You are so sweet to be giving your nurses and visitors gifts! It's just such a different experience giving birth in the States. They send you home ASAP after giving birth here, one friend of mine was home 3 hours later and that makes me a bit nervous.

And look where you are now... just days or (hopefully!) moments away from meeting your sweet girl! See... there I go getting all choked up again. =) Thanks for sharing all of this - and letting everyone know about the people still waiting to be blessed on the prayer blog. It's truly beautiful. Harper will be so proud of you when she reads all of this one day!
