Is today the day????

I woke up this morning and started to get ready for church and then realized I was having a few pre-labor/early labor symptoms and decided maybe we should just stay home. I was scared I would go into labor in the middle of the service and that would not be good. It's like the time a year or two ago that we had Travis Cottrell singing at our church one Sunday morning and right when he started singing "In Christ Alone" (I was ready for a moment of worship with God) - this man behind me started having a seizure and passed out and I stood up and screamed for this doctor in our church. I can't believe I did that - but I also thought the man was going to die. He was fine.
Anyway - I jumped up and got my cookies all bagged up so we could have those ready for the hospital. And then I took a shower so I could have good hair and make-up on should I go to the hospital. (there are WAY too many pictures taken on the big day to not have good hair and lipstick). ha! And then I settled down to watch church on TV - and I saw some really good services. :-) I was a little sad to miss church because this would have been our last childless Sunday EVER and I know I'll probably miss the next few weeks of church while we settle in with Harper and I can't stand to be away from my church that long. Hopefully Scott and I can trade off keeping her at home after a week or two so I can at least go some.
Well - the news is - I'm not in labor yet. But I think it could be anytime. And I'm either nesting or have a small case of ADD (which I think is true of me all the time because I can NOT just sit still) - I decided to make some chocolate pretzels with pink sprinkles to go along with the cookies. Ya'll better come see us in the hospital! ha! :-)
On to a different subject:

WHO IS EXCITED ABOUT AMERICAN IDOL STARTING THIS WEEK?????????????????
I love it so much!!!!! If you watch it - who is your all time favorite American idol? It doesn't even have to be the winner - it could be one of the runner- ups?
My all time favorite is David Cook from last season. I LOVED him. And I loved watching him get better and better each week. He blew me away. I can't wait to see what this season holds!

P.S. If you are a teacher (or even if you aren't) - you should go read the post my brother just wrote. There is a reason I think he is the funniest person I know.

Kelly-

I am praying for you every day and read your blog often and can't wait to see pics of your sweet Harper, and what a generous and nice thing to do for your nurses and people that come visit. I know they will be blessed by your giving spirit. Things are going well in my pregnancy these days, I enjoyed our quick chat that one day on facebook, and it is truly a blessing that i am 13 weeks along now! I will continue to keep you and your family in my prayers, and hope both sets of your parents have a safe trip when they get the big call they have been waiting so long for. Blessings! Amy Talbert

Hi Kelly...I have been reading your blog faithfully the past few months! You are inspring me to start my own! I had to comment on two things....1. I have checked your blog 12 times today!! 2. I also hurried and got a shower and did my makeup! And...right before they said let's start pushing...I refreshed my lipstick!! You are so right about the pictures! I wish your family all of the luck and joy this baby will bring to your lives! My babies are 7 and 5, and I miss those baby days! They go so fast, cherish every sleepless night!! :-)

Oh, and, I am a teacher, and loved your bro's post!!!

Kelly, I have checked your blog probably 20 times today. I went to get groceries and I checked before and after!

I love your cute ideas, your going to be such a sweet and considerate mommy.

My favorite was Brooke from last year because she was so soft spoken and humble about the whole experiance. I LOVE American Idol!

I love all of the treats you have made...too cute and sweet!! I've also been checking in quite often to see if there were any posts about Harper coming! It's so exciting! Being a teacher, I loved the post that your brother wrote! I can totally relate! I have to admit...I haven't been a faithful American Idol fan! I like it when I watch it, though! I do remember seeing David Cook and several others. Good luck...I know the big day is coming soon!

I LOVE those hospital goodies! I did the same thing with the hair, make-up, etc. when I went into labor with Connor. You are right about the million pics!
I SOOOO want to know what your sitemeter says about your blog activity this week- because like everyone else I have been checking it pretty much everytime I walk by the computer...which is ALOT!
Love you friend! Praying for you, Scott, and Harper!

P.S. I loved when Mandisa was on Idol and I also love Carrie and felt the same way you did about David Cook. We are SO READY for Tuesday night!

Wow! You have been busy! Those cookies and pretzels look so yummy. I've been checking your blog just waiting to hear that Harper is coming...you and Scott are in my prayers!!! I'm excited for you both! Much love, Becky

Oh-Your brother's post was hilarious! My mom is a teacher and she's gotten a ton of wooden jewelry, only she is actually one of the ones that actually did wear it...ha..ha...along with her stirrup pants and long knit sweaters. I sometimes wonder what she did with all that stuff?

Leah said...

I just read your brother's post. HYSTERICAL! I call the teacher gifts the start of a garage sale! :) One year, I got a ship in a bottle. So funny!

I also read your parent's posts the other night which made me teary eyed. NOthing like seeing grandparents get excited over the first grandbaby! Precious.

You are the most thoughtful person ever. With my next baby, I'm gonna have to remember to take treats to the hospital. How sweet! I wish we still lived in NWA and I'd come visit you just to get a cookie and a pretzel! ha! Can't wait to see pictures of that sweet little girl!

Betsy said...

Kelly, I am literally checking your blog every five minutes just waiting to see when you are going into labor! haha I was so excited when I saw the title of this blog. Anyway...it can't be long. And you are so sweet to have treats ready for your visitors!

I am heading over to your brother's blog. I know I will appreciate anything having to do with teachers! I read his blog the other day and already love it!

I will check back here soon. Keep us posted! (Like I need to tell you that--haha)

Jenna said...

David Cook all the way! He sealed it for me when he sang Mariah's "Always be my baby." I pretty much wanted him to win/marry him from that point on.

The goodies look delicious!! They couldn't possibly be as sweet and delicious as that Harper-girl, but that new baby/pretzel treat combo begs the question - Why do I live in GA and not AR at a time like this? :-)

Lauren said...

I love those cookies! They seriously may never discharge you (Ha!)... Those nurses and Dr.'s are going to be so spoiled! :)

I am hoping tonights the night... That is my guess!

Can't wait to see pictures of that sweet girl!

I'm so sad that I couldn't be working at the hospital that you are going to be delivering at. You would be so fun as a patient! :) Hope she comes soon! Ok, that story about you and Travis Cottrell (two t's, two l's as BooMama would say) is HIGH-larious. I'm sure Travis just thought you were bearing a very enthusiastic witness :)

You realize that you are going to be the nurses' favorite patient, right? You're so kind to think of gifts for them! This just may be the most well put-together birth plan EVER.

Can't wait to see the post title, "We're Off to the Hospital!"

I hope Harper doesn't hold out too long - your Dad was a mess all week LAST week!! (I imagine you're Mom was at home even worse than him. ha!)

You are making all of us typical go-to-hospital-and-have-baby-and-go-home mothers look bad with all those precious gifts for the hospital!!!!

AI - LOVE IT! Set my DVR today. I started watching it the year that Carrie Underwood won. I picked her at the beginning of the top 12. I picked Daughtry at the beginning of the top 12. And I picked David Cook as well. (Can I help it that America wasn't as smart as me where Daughtry was concerned???) Those three are my all-time favorites. Don't think I can narrow it down more than that.

It's a FULL MOON tonight, sister. Keep that suitcase by the door. (My baby doctor swore by full moon and thunderstorms.)

Still waiting...going on 3 days late. :) Happy due date for you, tomorrow!!

Anyways, CAN'T WAIT FOR IDOL!!!!! I'm so pumped. However, I'm having such a hard time with the fact that it's on at the same time as Biggest Loser. What is a girl to do?!?! I tell ya'! Guess my DVR will be working overtime.

Sending my love, blessings, and well wishes for a very smooth and joyous labor. I can't wait to "meet" little Harper, either!!

Love and hugs,

P.S. I'm going to read your brother's blog right now...since I am a teacher...I'm really looking forward to it. :)

I'm a teacher, and what your brother wrote is so true! Too funny!

Just checking in to see if you are in labor...the suspense is killing me...any news?? I assume you are at the hospital since you are off work now and haven't posted a blog today. :) I love your gifts for the visitors! So thoughtful of you. I made lasagna while in labor with my 2nd child, the midwives loved it! ha!
Praying for a safe, quick, and WONDERFUL delivery.

Kelly, thinking of you at this very special time! You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. Would love a cookie and pretzel, but Northern Ireland is a bit far to travel from!!

I trust that all will go very well (and very quickly!!) for you as you set out to meet Little Miss Harper!
