My Ideal Day

Today is the kind of day I think is just my idea of a perfect day! It's cold here and a great day to stay inside and get things done - all the while wearing PJ's.

I started off my day by taking Dawson to get his nails cut and hitting Wal-Mart. But first I stopped by Starbucks to finally try the Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. RUN ........don't walk.....RUN to starbucks to get this. It is yum in a cup! I'm very critical of hot chocolate and Starbucks has always been low on my list but this was soooooooooooooo good. The guy made it a "truffle" by adding some decaf expresso to make it darker. I don't know if that helped or not - but seriously I can not wait to get another one!
I spent the afternoon putting up our one little tree. I won't show it to you yet - I'm saving it for Boomama's tour. But I will show you one of the ornaments I made this year. We have one for each of our initials - this is Harper's! I've had her stocking for several years now but since I'm not getting those out of the attic - we will have to wait until next year to get it monogrammed!
I spent the rest of the day watching football and Lifetime movies and finishing my thank you notes. Dawson has discovered that my big belly makes a great pillow! Harper was kicking most of the time when he was laying there - she was probably thinking "let me out of here! I want to play with you!"

We had Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner and I made some chocolate chip cookies. It's warm and cozy and quiet in our house and I told Scott this was probably one of our very last leisurely quiet Saturdays to spend alone together. We are savoring every moment. But we will savor every moment once our little girl gets here too in a whole new way!

P.S. On the Ornaments:
I've made several of these lately for hostess gifts and such. Just get the clear ornaments - they come in all sizes at places like Hobby Lobby. Then fill them with shredded paper ( you can find this in the wrapping section of most stores). I found 3 cute ribbons and tied them at the top and then put a sticker on the outside for the monogram. Super easy and I think they are fun. You could do them in any color!

I LOVE the ornament! I think I'm going to use this as a craft project for my girls and their friends at their little Christmas party they're having. Is the "h" a sticker? Thanks for the idea....hope you don't mind if we copy it! :)

You will have another relaxing day after harper comes. However, it may not be exactly like today. Everything changes and you will soon forget how things were without her.

I'm jealous of your lazy Saturday. I used to have those all the time before I had Neely. Now, I feel like Saturday is the only day where I get to do all my errands and leave Neely at home. By Saturday night, I am exhausted.

Allie likes to use my belly as a pillow too! The baby hasn't kicked while she is laying on me yet, I'm waiting for Allie's response to that, should be funny!

Glad you had a relaxing Saturday.

I LOVE the ornaments!! I am going to have to make some of those!

I was a little late for your bloggy baby shower, but did post a couple of "words of wisdom" late that night. I am not sure if you saw it or not, so I just wanted to let you know that it is there on my blogsite. I think you had to leave for your grandfather's funeral the very next morning. I am glad that your dad was able to do the funeral. My dad did my grandmothers and it meant so much to our family!

Dawson looks so cute on your belly!!!

I felt so relaxed from hearing about your relaxing day. We always need those -- and it is true you will not get many more of these when little miss. harper comes!

I have also heard that Starbucks has peppermint whip cream -- I know sinful .. Maybe that would be tastey on a Hot Chocolate!

You look so cute in your pics:)

Way to go with your ornaments! SO cute!

That does sound like the perfect day. The ornaments are too cute. The baby kicking is one of the most beautifull feelings in the world. I've had three in my belly and one that says he (Logan) wants to go back in there. Not sure why but he also says he doesn't ever want to grow up because he doesn't want to leave me. I will have to get that on tape so I can play it back when he's a teen.
Many blessings to you, Harper, and your husband.
