Calling All you Single Girls

Sorry Harper - you are too young to qualify for this YET!

Yesterday's post on dating reminded me that I have had a book give away I've been saving to do and now is the time. As most of you know - I didn't get married until I was 30 and I went to college thinking I would graduate "with a ring by spring". It was a hard time in my life and I know how it feels to want to find the ONE and not know what God's plan is. I know the loneliness you feel and sometimes the hopelessness too. I know how it feels to watch your friends one by one go off like Noah's Ark (two by two). I know how it feels to go to countless wedding showers and buy 200 pieces of China wondering when you will get to pick out your pattern. ha! I know how it feels to wonder if you will always be alone. I know how it feels to go on one HORRIBLE blind date after another. ha! I remember the routine I had of jiggling my keys in my purse and yawning a bunch as he drove me home so he wouldn't try to walk me to the door. ha! ha! OH the stories I could share!
And that's why I pray for you daily.
I have two copies of this book by Candice Watters. I recently gave a book away from her on becoming parents. Unique among books for single Christian women, Candice's story, along with her discussion of biblical principles for marrying well, will encourage never married women, whatever their age and prospects. You can be content with where you are today and still desire marriage in a way that honors God.

And how many of you know about the FIVE long languages. This is such a true concept and I'm telling you - I have seen it in action so much in my marriage. Scott and I have completely different love languages and we try to show love in those ways and it is NOT what each other needs. So we have to work at it. This book is tailored to meet the unique and real desires of single adults. I have one copy of this to give away.
Harper - quit worrying - your daddy and I are planning an ARRANGED marriage for you. Now we just have to decide which cute boy it will be. :-)

If you are single and would like one of these books - just leave me a comment and I'll draw on Friday. I'll also be praying over the comments that God would bring each of you a Godly husband soon. I could write a book on singleness myself. I know you feel forgotten and left out - especially at church. You are NOT forgotten here. And you are FOR SURE not forgotten by God. He loves you and has a plan for you.

One last thing - I asked for prayer for this little baby the other day but they have had some major setbacks - please keep them in your prayers.
And a girl I grew up with had a baby yesterday morning, little Holland, and they may be sending her to AR children's hospital today because the baby has excess fluid on her abdomen and they can't figure out why.

Also - how cute is this little girl???? She has a Chiari 1 malformation of the brain. Please be praying for her and her family. http://www.prayingforabbygrace.blogspot.com/

Rasberries and Dates

I had to share this video - I was getting ready this morning and Harper started blowing rasberries. It cracked me up. Please ignore my EXTREMELY loud annoying laugh.

Who is watching the Bachelorette? Last night she took the guys on her 3 dream dates - zip lining down a huge building, western movie sets and a car museum. Really? Those were her ideal dates? Not sure about Jillian. ha! I was wondering......I know most of you are married but if you weren't and YOU were the bachelorette (or if you were planning a dream date with your husband) - what would it be? I know for sure mine would NOT combine climbing tall buildings or car museums. And if you ARE single - I'd really love to hear........!
Mine would obviously be an SEC football game, shopping in NYC, and maybe just good old Chili's and a round of putt putt.
Right now ....... just eating together at the same time at the same table would be amazing. ha!

P.S. Jillian wasn't my favorite last season but she is really cute. She has amazing style. She is kind of my fashion idol right now. If I was only that tiny...........I'll keep plugging on the Crystal Light. ha!

Monday Madness

Harper and I have had a busy day but nothing really much to blog about. We took a long walk this morning, made Daddy his P90X lunch and dinner, got our oil changed, dropped of dry cleaning, and browsed Hobby Lobby and ran into two blogger friends Ashley and Katie. And in between we did a lot of eating, burping (Harper - not me), and diaper changes.
I just had to share this picture because it's Harper's new thing. She wrinkles up her nose when she smiles. She also sometimes shrugs her little shoulders AND wrinkles her nose as if to say "Oh look at little me - I'm so cute and so shy". I also realized tonight that she has not one but TWO teeth coming in. I'm not sure how long it will take them to be all the way in but I can't wait until I can take a picture of our little bunny with her bottom two teeth.

Thank you SOOOOO much for all of the comments telling me I look thin. Sometimes I feel like a big blob of mess - with crazy hair and covered in drool, spit up and sometimes poop. (Yes Harper has projectile POOPED on me twice today.) I will say that breast feeding is the best workout program known to man. And pretty weather making me want to take Harper on a ton of walks is my other friend. I still have some weight to lose but I appreciate you being so sweet. I'm afraid how I look has taken a complete back seat these days. And I could care less. I worried about how I looked in my 20's so much I am so glad to be OVER that. I'm thankful for my 30's - because I've reached a point where I like to look nice but I'm not constantly beating myself up about it.

For the next 2 weeks - I am taking a little challenge by the people of Crystal Light and trying to drop my Coke habit (the sweet little caffieneted drink from Atlanta - not a drug) and drink more water (made much more pleasant by crystal light). I REALLY need to make that change so I'm going to be blogging over the next 2 days on how it's going HERE and I would love for any of you to challenge yourselves and drop the Coke/Diet Coke/Dr. Pepper habit for a week. Sonic may have to contact the government and declare bankruptcy but my body will thank me.

  • Also - a sweet blogger has asked for prayers for her cousin, Rance, who was recently involved in an accident that has left him a quadreplegic.
  • And pray for this family - this wife lost her husband in a Navy helicopter accident - they have three children under the age of 3 including a 3 week old baby.
  • Pray for Brian and Jennifer - last week they lost their first baby Caswell at 38 weeks in utero. They are both in their late 30's and I know this is a huge loss to them.
