From Sea To Shining Sea

Fourth of July is probably my favorite holiday.  It's just such a relaxed holiday and it's spent with family and friends.  And it's summer.  What is not to love?

Plus all the red, white and blue.  It's just my favorite.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my kids.  It was two years ago.  Look at little Will Holden.  This is when I thought he might be red headed.  I certainly had no idea he would end up a cotton top.

We have a tradition to spend the holiday with Laurie and Steve.  I love seeing our kids grow up together! Emily is basically a teenager now.  It just all goes so fast!

I LOVED these Eleanor Rose dresses I got for the girls this year and Will's little flag outfit.  Patriotic outfits are just my favorite.  So I wanted to take the kids and get some pictures of them on our town square.  The girls love to take pictures but Will Holden is like trying to take pictures of a greased pig. And it was so humid so Scott and I were sweating like we had run a marathon.  But it was worth it!

Also - children photographers don't make enough money! ha!

He should totally be a child model except for how hart it is to get a picture of him. ha!

Love these kids.

We had a lazy day on the fourth.  It was pouring down rain the whole day so we just stayed home and watched movies. I cleaned house and did laundry and cooked.  Laurie and family came over for dinner and we grilled out burgers and ate and laughed.

It quit raining for probably an hour and we went outside to shoot off fireworks.  Will Holden LOVED it!

Of course after we did a few fireworks it started raining again so we cut it short.  We usually sit outside and watch the fireworks all around us but we just skipped.  Luckily our neighbors have been shooting off fireworks for days so the kids got to watch them several times.

Me and my babies

The only way to get Will Holden in this picture was to have Hollis basically hog tie him.  I can't imagine how he's going to turn out being the only boy in this group.

He's a Yankee Doodle Dandy.
