Book Club and Prayer Requests

First - I feel like I owe the American people to alert you that Sonic drinks are half off all day today thanks to tax day.
You are welcome.
{No one is paying me to say that. I just have a small obsession with Sonic and I don't want anyone to miss out on happy hour ALL DAY there!}

Okay......... I'm excited!!!!

So we will start next week with "The Antelope in the Living Room".   You have 10 days to get a copy and catch up! Or you can jump in the next week.  It's an easy and fun read so it will be good to jump in when you can.

We will read the first FOUR chapters for next week and I will pick a few of Melanie's questions for us to discuss in the comments.  And at some point - Melanie has promised me a video message just for all of us!! Get excited!

This will go on for the next 5-6 weeks and then after that we will do:

"Surprised by Motherhood" by Lisa-Jo Baker.  (if you want to look ahead).
{And I'm going to get Lisa-Jo to help us with a few questions and maybe a video message also!}

I'm excited! Eek!
(I need to confess I've never actually been in a book club before but I think this will be fun.  If only we could bring snacks.)

AND

I have a few prayer requests I've been given and I'd love if you wanted to post any in the comments.  I try to do these occasionally because I know you are a community who will pray for others.
Thank you for that!

1.  Kathy C. gave me this request for two friends:   One just turned 31 weeks pregnant and
 found out she has preeclampsia, or at least the beginning signs of it. She had to go
to the hospital today which is when this was discovered. Her blood pressure is elevated, feet are swollen, and she has protein in her urine.

My other friend has been battling infertility for several years. Last year she had abnormal cells that they thought were pre-cancerous and so they did a D&C and gave her the all clear. Today she found out the abnormal cells are back and more aggressive. She has to have another D&C and has been referred to an oncologist and she was told she will likely have a hysterectomy. As you can imagine she is completely distraught and heartbroken.

2.  Krystal H. sent me this: My friend Alyssa just fought and beat breast cancer (while pregnant) last year.  She recently found a lump on her arm and it was biopsied and determined to be cancerous.  They did a full body scan last week and she has stage 4 cancer that has spread to her arm, liver, lungs, bones, and brain.  She is 32 and has a husband and two young children.  We know God can do miracles beyond what we could imagine so we are asking anyone we can to pray for her and her family.
