Lately..........

{When I wrote "lately"  - now all I can think of is that Stevie Wonder song.  It won't get out of my head.}

I hit the ground running as soon as I got back from vacation.  Who needs to relax anyway?

Thursday night we had a baby shower for my friend Elizabeth who is having a little girl next month.  I can't wait to see that beautiful baby girl!!! This was a much needed girls night - I don't think I have laughed so hard with friends in months!

Friday morning I kept Harper home from preschool because my parents were bringing little sister home! These two missed each other so much.  They ran across the driveway yelling "SISSY!!!!".  (My mom tweeted a pic of what Hollis was wearing that morning so I matched her up.  Oh the magic of social media!)  We went to eat lunch at Flying Fish and then my parents left and the girls and I ran errands!
 Saturday our friend Kinley turned five and she had such a fun girly party.  There is a little store/salon for girls in Fayetteville and the girls got to have manicures and pedicures along with lunch and cupcakes! A girl's dream of a day!
 We love these sweet girls.  They are just a couple of months different in ages and I'm so thankful for their friendship.
Here are Harper and Kinley at Harper's first birthday and then at Kinley's 5th.  I could cry thinking about how fast it has gone and that these two will be heading to kindergarten soon.  I feel like I will be adding prom pictures to this collage before I know it.

I was probably close to 30 before I had my first pedicure/manicure.  What lucky little girls! They got to pick colors and they got polka dots on top.  It was so cute!

 I believe this was the most still Hollis has ever been.  She loved it!
 There were four sets of sisters at the party.  These are a precious group of girls and I couldn't adore their mothers any more than I do.

I always kind of dreamed of having three sons - but I have to admit - I sure love having girls.
 Saturday afternoon Scott spent a good part of the day hanging Christmas lights on the house.  We aren't ready to decorate just yet (although I feel like half of my instagram feed is people putting their trees up) but while it is still warm and we have time - Scott went for it.  Laurie and Steve and the girls came by to watch and I had just finished making enchiladas to bake but we will never turn down fun with friends so we ended up going out to eat instead.  I love random friend stop bys and invites.
Today we had church and then we went to another birthday party which I didn't take any pictures of but it was for a little girl who has been in preschool with Harper for the last 4 years and Harper just adores her and then it was back to church tonight.

It was nice to relax on the beach but it's also nice to be back in the craziness of life.

Although.........I suddenly can't sleep more than 6 hours.  I keep waking up before 6 and today it was 4:30.  Is this a sign of aging? I'm not a fan.  I'm a night owl and these early mornings are killing me.  I finally have kids sleeping through the night and now I'm waking up when the moon is still out.
