Life and Singles Day

I had originally planned to do a "Day in the Life" post today.  I like to do one at least once a year so I can look back and see what my days were like with my girls.  But by about 10 - our day had gone down hill and had turned into a day full of killing flies (literally - there are 1000 in my house right now) and discipline and I lost the will to do this post.  So I'll try again next week. I want to get a realistic portrayal but I just wasn't feeling it.  I mean I even got up and made homemade pancakes for the girls which I NEVER do and they both decided they didn't like them and would rather have Nutrigrain bars. Really? :-)

I was even prepared to show you how pitiful I look on days at home and how we are known to run errands in our pajamas a lot of times (errands that include drive thrus).  (We are safely parked in our drive way when I took this picture). ;-)
The girls were playing outside today and Harper comes to the door smiling like a cheshire cat and holding a Praying Mantis. The girl is afraid of nothing and loves bugs. She was talking to it and petting it and wanted to know if we could take it in the car somewhere. Um. No.

Anyway........moving on to more exciting topics.

Mark your calendars - Next week is Singles Friday!!!!!!!!!

I really need some kind of blog button for this - anyone smart and want to make one? I am clearly not. In case you are new or don't remember - I am going to go over the basic rules.  I am hoping this is the biggest one yet.  I want to remind you that after next month there are FIVE couples who are MARRIED after meeting here. (and a few more that will be going down the aisle soon!) So it works! Or it might not - but it's worth a try.

1.  If you have a single friend, a single co-worker, a single family member or YOURSELF - write a blog post about them (or you) and include lots of pictures and a good TRUE description.  When you link up - you will put their first name, age and state they live in.

2.  I will get this question a lot - "I don't have a blog - how can I participate?"  It is EXTREMELY easy to set up a blog (nothing fancy).  So even if you don't blog - you could totally set up a blog with one post just for the purpose of participating.  Then you can delete the whole thing.
OR
You can visit the posts and if you see one you are interested in - leave a comment with your info and tell a little about yourself.  Hopefully you will hear something back.

3. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: God knows and has a plan for how you will meet your mate. Maybe it's here but more than likely it's not.  If you post and no one leaves any comments - the last thing I want is for you to feel rejected. YOU ARE NOT!!! It will just be clear that your future spouse does not read my blog. ha! And if you comment on someone and don't hear back - DO NOT FEEL REJECTED.  That is just not the person for you.  I can't stand for anyone to feel rejected and I know how singleness can attack your self esteem (or maybe it was just me).  That is not what is happening here.

4. If you are shy and need me to intervene - email me. I'll love to help!

5.  This is also important - I have absolutely NO control over how many guys vs girls there are or what ages people are.  I get emails complaining about ages or whatever and y'all - I have NO control!!!! I'm just praying for the best and that something amazing comes out of it.

6. If you meet, date, get engaged and get married - you are required to invite me. Bridesmaid is optional.  (I'm totally kidding about this but I really hope you will let me know if anything happens.  It encourages me and others to keep going with this!)

Okay - Praying that GOD does something BIG!!!!! See you next Friday!
