Grandparent Love

We have been lucky to have Scott's parents visiting us the last few days. Harper has had so much fun with them. They came Friday and we visited and ate dinner and they helped put the girls to bed. Saturday morning we got up and went to the Farmer's market, to the splash park, and for a walk on our nature trail.
It was SO hot already in the morning that we were all exhausted by the time we came home. We ate lunch and the girls took long naps at the same time! It was wonderful! I got a lot done. It's nice having Gigi here to help with the girls so I can get caught up. Especially after a crazy week last week.
Last night we went out to eat. It was a little bit of a disaster. We have been having MAJOR struggles of wills with our strong willed child. Scott and I both have just been at our wit's end. This weekend was tough because she was tired and had grandparent attention and that makes her act out but oh my goodness - Scott and I have threatened to drive to CO and drop her off at James Dobson's house. ha! And you can probably imagine how well the hearing aid wearing has been going. Sometimes the only thing I know to do is just pray every morning, afternoon, and night that God will give me patience and help me have more wisdom in parenting. We just love her so much and want others to love her too when they are around her. (Not roll their eyes when they see her coming. You all know what I'm talking about? ha! If you have ever helped with kids in any fashion.)
We did manage to get a good picture of the girls with their grandparents this morning. I thought they looked so sweet in their dresses.
Of course this is how our family picture turned out. Harper was mad and crying and Hollis was looking at her like "What's your deal?". It wasn't the greatest of mornings. But thankfully when we picked up Harper after church - our sweet girl was back and we had a nice afternoon with her. She is the most precious little girl and I could just eat her up but watch out world when she gets determined about something. I'm just trying to not get frustrated because I KNOW God is going to use that will for something good as she grows. At least I pray every single day that He does.

We have had a nice afternoon and we are ordering pizza tonight and letting the girls enjoy being with their grandparents and vice versa. Hope you all had a good weekend too!

Also - My dad posted a video of when Harper first got her hearing aids in - you might like to see. We were all crying. I think mostly because it was such a sweet moment to have an audiologist who would sing "Jesus Loves Me" with my baby girl. How blessed are we?
