Party like it's 1999

Last night Harper and I went to a birthday party for her little friend Brody.  Scott took this picture before we left.  I loved this little outfit she was wearing with two of Harper's favorite things - Monkeys and cupcakes and they are wearing birthday hats so it was perfect! :-)

Brody had his party at the Little Gym which I'm convinced is the way to go for 2 and 3 year olds. ha! They do all the work and the toddlers can run crazy and your house doesn't get destroyed.  You can bet we will be having Harper's 2nd birthday at something similar! Harper had SO much fun!
This is the birthday boy and Harper.  I just adore him. We have another Brody at our church who told his momma he "loves Harper" and he is precious. So right now I'm working on getting her to say "Brody" because I think one of the two Brody's would make the perfect husband. (I'm all about arranged marriages for her).
These pictures are awful because my camera is kind of pitiful but this is Brody and his parents. Jennifer just had a baby two weeks ago and looks amazing. I'm not sure how she does it or has so much energy. They had Brody's favorite foods - chick-fil-a nuggets, goldfish and a cookie cake.  Those are Harper's favorites too but she was too busy playing with a balloon to eat.  She sees balloons each week at Wal-Mart and always talks about them on and on so to finally touch one was thrilling for her! ha!
They tried to get a picture of all the kids but you can imagine how well that works with 1-3 year olds. ha! I was thankful we were there a whole 30 minutes before Harper pushed her first kid and she only shoved two kids instead of all of them. I was so mortified but felt much better once I got home and got my weekly email from babycenter.com that tells me what should be happening at this point in her life and the subject was "Pushing, hitting and biting - normal behavior for 20 month olds".  Thank you Jesus - she's just normal and this too will pass! ha! I will say she has been the Happiest, Smiliest (is that a word?), sweetest little girl the last few days.  I have my fingers crossed maybe the terrible two fits are ending or at least slowing down! (And don't tell me it gets worse at 3 - just let me live in my little dream world for a little longer!)

On another note -I heard about something a few days ago that just broke my heart and I got an email from a friend of this person last night and I want to ask you to pray.  A young wife named Leslie was pregnant with twins and her water broke. She delivered the babies at 21 weeks and they did not live. At the same time - a blood clot caused her to go into cardiac arrest and she was without oxygen for 17 minutes.  She has been in a coma ever since.  Her husband lost his first wife to breast cancer 3 years ago and has 3 children that have already lost one mother.  This is one of those times when I just want to say "WHY?????" I trust God has purposes in everything even if we will never know it on this earth and He LOVES us but it can be hard to understand. Would you pray for Leslie and especially for her husband.
