Monogram Swap

Day 6 of Cabin Fever

We had another day of being inside but I decided to get us both dressed today just to feel better. The day started off below ZERO. But this afternoon we got up to 10 degrees so I warmed up the car, bundled up Harper and we went for a drive around town. I may or may not have stopped at Sonic Happy Hour. Starbucks would have made more sense in this cold weather but I was craving my vanilla diet coke so bad and the day just got so much better after we had an outing. We even took Dawson. I think he had cabin fever too and he enjoyed his ride!

I know a lot of you were talking about how you wish you could find clothes that were hand me downs with your kids named monogrammed on them. I thought I would pass along this site - I found it a while back and it's a great concept! There is not a lot on there but imagine if ALL of us started putting our kids monogrammed stuff on there (if you could bear to part with any of it) - we could all buy and sell all kinds of things!!

I'm waiting for some Harper stuff to get posted. ha!

Harper is on the BRINK of walking. She has taken 1 or 2 steps at a time several times in the last couple of days. She finally got the hang of walking and pushing her little car. I'm guessing in the next couple of weeks I'll have a walker on my hands. YIKES! I don't think I'm ready!

My little boy is 1 month younger than Harper and he just now figured out how to push his push toy!! It scares me when I think about him being old enough to walk!! They grow up too fast!!

So glad Miss Harper got to wear her poodle outfit. Guess I should have monogrammed those dogs! HA. It is 18 degrees here, no snow but school was closed anyway. Too cold.
Get some rest while you can, because once Harper starts walking your "behind" will not hit the couch all day.
Keeping you in my heart in Ga.

Thank you for sharing this site. Oh, and I LOVE that the simple things in life, like Sonic, bring you joy. My diet coke at *Cook Out* does me the same way. Do you guys have that restaurant there?

Hi there! I'm the owner of The Monogram Swap and we're excited to be featured on Kelly's Korner! I think the site was bombarded yesterday from all your loyal readers, but things should be better today:)

I have an 18 month old little girl and I love the video of Harper walking. This is such a fun age!!!

Kelly every stage in your childs life is exciting...I still get excited to hear what my 30's and 40's daughters are up too! (:>)

Yup..,.,they are always your babies. (:>) I remember how it was when each of them took their first steps!

And then when all of our grandbabies came along the fun starts all over again!

Harper is so cute and I enjoy following your adventures with her...even when it's just a drive to Sonic to get a diet cherry coke!

Love, Linda @ Truthful Tidbits

Linda said...

OOPS! I meant "diet vanilla coke"!
I used to drink cherry vanilla cokes...maybe that's why I goofed up!

Monogram swap?! Pure genious. Of course nobody has a Colin or Carter but I will keep looking :) Thanks for the wonderful resource. I will have to see what I can part with and list them on that website!

Thanks!!

And walking - my favorite... The best years are yet to come. 1 and 2 were my hands down favorite years. They just learn so fast and start chatting.... the things that come out of their mouths! Enjoy every minute - they go by so fast!

I feel ya on the cabin fever. We are on day 3, or is it 4, I have lost count, LOL! Thanks for the website, cute idea, although I doubt I will find much Pepper or Vesper stuff on there or that anyone would want mine. Hope your weekend is wonderful!

Mandy said...

Oh, no Kelly! I guarantee you that Harper will be walking like it's no big deal by the end of next week! Watch out! :)

This is so funny, for some reason when I first read your title I was thinking it said Sonogram swap! And I was like, why would people want to swap their sonogram pictures (ultrasounds)? Monogram swap makes much more sense!! ha!

Kristen said...

Look at her go! Now the busy will start for you when she starts really walking! Thanks for the website link - I'm off the check it out! I've wondered what to do with Lauren's monogrammed dresses!

Amo said...

I was absolutely dying for my son to start walking...until he did. Now, I wish he would be still for just two seconds! I can't get him to sit still for anything! And he doesn't walk, he runs everywhere he goes! Now, I can't wait for him to start talking. I've been told that I should enjoy these times when he isn't talking b/c once he starts, he will never be quiet. But, I can't help it! I can't wait to hear his little voice!

hi Kelly! I remember reading your blog last year when Harper was first born and in the hospital... oh my goodness, I can't believe how sweet and big she is! She is just a beautiful little girl. I can't believe she's about to be a walker! I have a little 13 month old and she's working on her first steps, too... it's exciting. Happy birthday, Harper :)

Brandi said...

The monogram swap would be great! I'm gonna check it out!

ANd I know how you feel about cabin feever! We have been stuck inside all but one day this week! And I was so thankful just to drive around too! :)

Sarah said...

Thanks for the monogram link Kelly!!!

My daughter started walking at 9 months and everyone said "Uh-oh, you're busy now!" and I thought "It's really easier, because she's been mobile with crawling for a few months and into everything anyway. Now we can go to the park, and she can actually walk around and climb, etc.":)
So hopefully you'll feel the same way -- walking to me was just one more step towards making things easier, actually:)
