A whole lot of stuff...............................

On Tuesday mornings we go to Bible Study at our church. I'm thankful that our church has a good Women's ministry and offers several times and studies for women. When I worked - I was able to go to either a Monday night study or Sunday afternoon and I enjoyed both of those. You get a good cross section of the church at each of the times. I like the mornings because it's a lot of young moms and a lot of the older women in the church (who I ADORE and don't get the chance to be around enough) and then several in the middle. I wish we young moms would get more interaction with the older women (the "Primetimers" as our church calls them). They have so much wisdom to share and are just so cute!
This little sweetie in pink and brown had another great day in the nursery! She is really starting to adjust which makes this momma's heart so happy!
She took a long nap today and while I cooked dinner - she hung out in her exersaucer and ate her snack in there and watched "Praise Baby". Look who was very interested in her snack time! ha!
Harper has started really pulling up a lot. I had to stand in the hallway today and keep an eye on her for 30 minutes until she finally went to sleep at naptime because I was so worried of her pulling up. So tonight we lowered her bed.

She is getting so big so fast! She keeps us constantly entertained!

IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE WINNERS - PLEASE E-MAIL ME YOUR ADDRESS TO kellyskornerblog@gmail.com by THURSDAY OR I WILL SELECT A NEW WINNER!!!

I have had several people send me a link to a young couple and they have been on my mind so much that I thought I would mention them. The Sullivans have been married for 5 years. I'm not 100% sure of details but she had breast cancer during her pregnancy. She ended up having to have an emergency c-section this week and soon after they got home started seizing. She is now on life support and they may have announced her brain dead. They have a brand new baby Chloe. I just keep thinking about this young guy that may not only have to grieve the love of his life but will be left with a brand new baby. I can't imagine. Please pray. (Since I wrote this - she has gone on to be with Jesus). This young husband REALLY needs your prayers.

Also - a few thoughts on the Friday "Show Us Your Life" series. A lot of you have asked about doing Fall and Christmas decorations and holiday traditions. I'm going to add Fall decorations to the series and Thanksgiving traditions/recipes. My friend Boomama usually does a Christmas Tour of Homes so if she does it again this year - I'm going to leave that to her! It's always SO fun if you haven't done it before!
A blogger sent me another great idea that I'm going to do in several weeks also. So many of you have home businesses or make things that you sell. I know a lot of you have asked to have your things featured and I LOVE to do that but it's gotten so overwhelming for me that I've had to stop. BUT we will have one week where anyone who makes or sells things can feature it on their blog and everyone can look - great early HOLIDAY SHOPPING and a good way to support other moms! And a great way to represent yourself!

I am glad Harper can start wearing her long sleeves. It is still in the high 80's in Alabama. I am hoping it will get cook quickly before Morgan outgrows some of her cute fall clothes! Harper is getting cuter by the day :)

Love the pink and brown!!!

I am broken hearted over that young family and baby Chloe. I'll be praying for them.

I meant to say cool off quickly, not cook quickly :)

Just read about little Chloe and her momma. I'm praying for the family now. I'm sure the prayer requests grow to an overwhelming number for you but I'm thankful to know about things like this to pray for! Thinking about my kids and the small issues can pile up but there are no problems in my household that could ever compare to such pain.

Yay Harper for doing well in the nursery! She's adorable--Love that her hair is long enough now to wear little clips too! You must have so many options now...

Jen said...

That outfit is just PRECIOUS on Harper! I have it for my daughter too :-) Thanks for the info on the Sullivans. I will keep their family in my thoughts and prayers. Things like that make you realize how lucky you are :)

Also, I am SO excited for fall and christmas home decor! Those are my two favorite times of the year. Can't wait to share!

P.S. I am having a great toy giveaway on my blog if you want to come by.

I was so saddened when I saw your tweet this afternoon about the Sullivan Family. I went and read about what she has gone through and my heart just ached for that family. I have been praying for them all afternoon. My heart is heavy for her husband and their sweet precious newborn baby girl. May God give them strength and peace.

Again...ADORABLE pictures!! I love that pink and brown outfit!! Not to mention, my 2 favorite colors!! I just can't believe how much Harper is changing. She's just getting that "grown up" face...just like Jorgen is! :)

Congrats to the winners!

I will definitely be praying for the Sullivan family. I honestly couldn't even imagine. So hard to understand God's plan sometimes even though that's not our job.

Also, I'm super excited about a holiday open house!! I make lots of baby things and would love to be able to display them... and I must add, I am quite the shopper!

Great idea on the "show us what you make" post. I love buying gifts that are made by moms who have their own businesses.

You are so right about Primetimers at church. They always have great advice and wonderful stories to tell!

Kelly just a heads up when my daughter started pulling herself up I removed the bumper pads they can use them as a stepping stool not trying to preach just something I did, here in Canada they say to take them out at 5 months or when the baby pulls its self up not sure how it works in the U.S. maybe something to ask other moms about or look into to my baby days were long ago

Will pray for Chole and family

Look at all those bows on the wall!!!!! My husband just commented on all of my daughter's bows tonight, they have nothing compared to Harper. I love all of her bows. I need to start shopping for bows where you shop.

We had our first day of really cool weather here in Texas today too. I may or may not have changed London 4 times just to see her in some of the cuteness that has been begging to come out of her closet. haha! I didn't get a chance to comment on yesterday's post, but I swear we could share a brain when it comes to fashion! London has all three of the shoes you showing (the white ones too!) and she has an outfit a lot like the one Harper had on too, from Carters. But PLEASE tell us where today's outfit is from!

I followed your Tweet earlier to the Sullivan's blog. My heart is broken for Chloe and her Daddy.

Maybe I will leave a comment now that there aren't a kazillion for you to go through! I have been reading your blog through your pregnancy, watched your weekly pics and was obsessed with your story when Harper was born! I couldn't wait to get home and check on her everyday. She is so adorable. I love seeing her pics and how she changes so quickly. It makes me even more anxious for a granddaughter as I only have an 11 year old grandson.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog and seeing Harper grow up. It's almost like she's family!

I have been heartbroken over the Sullivan's story today. I prayed all day that she would be healed, but I know that must not have been God's will for her life. I will continue to pray for her family.

That's a great idea about featuring small businesses. I love Mommy owned businesses!

Love the pink and brown outfit. I caught a glimpse of Harper's bow collection in the picture of her in her nursery. My goodness! I thought my baby girl had a huge collection...but she has got nothin' on Harper!

Angie said...

Is Harper's outfit just the most adorable thing or what?!! I love it! You are AWESOME Kelly and I so enjoy reading your blog!

Thanks for the Sullivan link - I will ask for prayers as well, the blog world is such a great extra place for prayer!

Karen said...

Harper is too cute and is growing like a weed. I also spied her huge bow collection. I am a little sad right now because my 16 month old is now pulling her hair bows and clips out. This after pulling out her hair bands. This too shall pass! ha also, I really love my Summer video monitor so you can see baby in her crib. It's a luxury I can't live without. Target sells them, not sure about Walmart. Have a great week! Blessings!

Now that Harper's doing better in the nursery, I've been paged for the last 2 Sundays for Annabeth. So funny! Annabeth has that same outfit in green and brown, but she hasn't worn it yet. Maybe tomorrow since it's finally getting cool!

I sure do understand what you mean about being happy that Harper did well in the nursery! We have MOPS on Tueday mornings at our church and my son did great in the nursery this morning and it made my day! Good babies!

Thank you for sharing the Sullivan's story with everyone. I was one who sent you a link and tweet today. They were dear friends of a friend of mine, and have been on my heart every day since I learned of her new complications. You are doing such wonderful things by helping share prayer requests with the world. Prayer works! And I take comfort that she's with Jesus and watching over her sweet family.

PS. Harper is too stinkin' cute, I've got to get something like what you have to display my daughter's bows!!

Harper just keeps getting cuter by the day! The pic you put up today - I don't know if it's her outfit or if she actually is taller - but she looks longer and leaner now! Anyway - I just had to say that - I know you probably notice that yourself. I'm addicted to your blog though - I think it's the feeling I've felt to follow Christ, and seeing how you are so all into him and I wish I was more, I don't know. But, I'm addicted nonetheless!

Samantha said...

I love the outfit!

Congrats to everyone who won a CD! :)

Becky said...

I too have always appreciated learning from older, much wiser women! They are such a huge blessing.

Stephanie said...

We used to attend a Home Builders group on Tuesday nights and it was so nice to get together with couples at all different stages of their marriage. I appreciate the older women of our church just as much as the younger women - there's so much to be gained from their wisdom and experience.

Ha - I'm laughing at the pictures of Harper in the crib, because my daughter loves to "play" in her crib before or after naptime. She will stand up and bang on the side of the bed to get my attention. Silly goose!

LOVE the idea about sharing home businesses - I can't wait!

So sad about the Sullivan family. I will say a prayer for that sweet new daddy. We do not have any praise baby dvd's yet. I need to check those out! Hi Kelly! So sad about the Sullivans. Thanks for sharing all these stories with us. Love, love your blog.

I'm an admitted total child safety nut and I hate to say this even though Barb already mentioned it above, but it's time to take that gorgeous crib bumper out. Once she can pull up, it has to go so she doesn't get hurt.

I got my Future Tiger onesie in the mail two days after you posted your blog. Thanks so much for the info!

I LOVE Harper's pink and brown outfit. If only there was a place to monogram on it:)

Grancie said...

Hey Kelly - - Someone may have already shared this but if Harper enjoys the Praise Baby videos you've got to try Cedarmont Kids videos. My grand-daughter is a big fan of Praise Baby and loves watching real kids, not animation. So we tried the Cedarmont Kids too and they are wonderful! It's all the great songs we grew up singing at church and camp and the kids are delightful! She especially enjoys clapping, dancing, marching and trying to sing along. There's enough "action" to keep her attention and it's the kind of songs we want on her little heart. I bet Harper will feel the same way.

I read your blog often but have never commented until today. I sit here in tears because the Sullivan famliy you mentioned is so close to being my story. I have a 2 year old named Chloe and a 1 year old named Brody. When Brody was 4 months old I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had extensive surgeries, have finished chemo and have started radiation this week. My heart breaks for this family especially hard because it hits so close to home. I will be lifting the daddy and sweet baby girl Chloe up in prayers.

Cute AND smart. Love her!

But my Crowder song is Praise Him. If this 32 year old single girl ever gets married, the chorus of O Praise Him will be played the moment we kiss and as our recessional. I'm just hopin' I get to do it!

Kelly,

I haven't ever posted a comment on your blog- but love reading it- I actually haven't ever posted a comment on a blog unless I knew the person, but I wanted to tell you about a cd that Steve Fee is releasing in October, but you can buy it presale here: http://feeband.com/
I honestly haven't found a bad song on the cd and I have had it for a little over a week- I really think you will like it. I would even say that I would pay you back the money if you didn't like it :) (that's just how sure I am). Check it out!
