Weekend

Yesterday I got a treat - Laurie and I met up with funny blogger friend Kate. She is a hoot and a half. Her mom and good friend were also with her. We went to Copelands for appetizers\desserts. We had a great time.
Unfortunately this girl did NOT have a good time. She screamed her head off the whole time I was gone. She does NOT like having momma gone. I had to dress her up in this little outfit today because I think it will be our last cool/cold day and this outfit is cute but warm. It is going to be in the 70's this week and I can't WAIT! There are some walks and outdoor activities for us planned this week!
From gansta in her hood to pretty girl. She was sound asleep this afternoon so I snuck out to the store and I had just been greeted by the Wal-Mart greeter when Scott was calling with her screaming in the background. Ha! She has "mommy's gone radar."
This sums up our day.......me holding Harper with Dawson asleep on the couch behind us. I spy a sonic drink on the coffee table and a Lifetime movie on TV (there were some good ones today). I did get a start on the Great master bedroom Closet Cleanout 2009 though!

P.S. Remember the picture of Harper in her tutu last week? Well - the girl who made it is giving one away on her blog - go here and sign up!!!!

P.P.S. The Tipping family on the prayer links to the left lost all six of their sextuplets over the weekend - remember them in your prayers.

I just love love love reading your blog. We have never met but I feel like I know you. Anyway, I have a blog of my own, but I feel like no one reads it. When you first started how did you get people to read yours. There is so much I love to write about but I want people to read. I would love your feed back.

My son does the same thing when I leave him at home with my husband. He will be crabby until I get home and then he is happy.

It gets easier leaving them with Daddy. :) My oldest did that, and it was awful. It got better with each passing month. She's 8 now, and she and Daddy go out on dates. :)

I love that last pic of you and Harper. I've been trying to take lots of shots lately that just sum up our daily lives and what we do on a normal basis. So fun!

Such a cute outfit! A couple of my friends' little girls have it and I absolutely love it!!

You mom wrote the sweetest comment on my blog today! What a dear lady she is...just like her wonderful daughter!

Sorry that Harper feels the need to throw fits for poor Scott as soon as you leave. That little turkey! :) She'll hopefully grow out of that, sooner rather than later!

Thanks for the new pics. I told your mom that now I have even more blogs to see Harper pics on!!! YAY!

My daughter laughs each morning I pull up to Sonic and I don't stop at the speaker... right up to the window.. my Route 44 Diet Dr. Pepper is ready for me. $1.07 they charge me.. I get a daily discount! :)

Owen has mommy radar too... it used to think it was adorable... now I can't even use the restroom without him sitting on my lap. I guess he's potty training early?!

Oh my goodness, Kelly! That picture of you and Harper on the couch just brings back so many memories of when my girls were babies. At the time, I admit that I wished for time to sneak out and get out of the house, but the sweet memories I have of that time also make me want another baby so badly! LOL What a sweet picture of you and your little miracle girl! God is SO good!

I so remember those days- my husband would do the exact same thing. One time I had to leave my wal-mart cart full full (because I hadn't been in so long) rush home get her calmed down and back to sleep then go back - luckily my cart was still there where I left it - I traded out the Milk and checked out!! :)

Oh I think that sums up a good day--any day with a Sonic drink counts as a good one for me! I have a funny story coming about your recession post and some of the earrings from Forever 21. I'll let you know when it's up on my blog. I'll link to yours in it too--for all of the people who read your blog I'm sure someone else will get a kick out of it and I think you will for sure :)

Poor Scott! Madison did the same thing to Marc as soon as I left the house. Because I was nursing there was just not much he could do. He felt so bad because he wanted her to want him too and I felt bad because he was sad. Oh the hormones honey!!! Let me just tell you, this will pass. Please pass this on to Scott... Madison is 8 now and she and her Daddy are to peas in a pod. What you might want to try on the weekends is to just let him have her 100%...even when she is fussy. Our mistake was when Madison would cry he would just give her to me to nurse...hence the routine. Maybe let Scott comfort her in another room without you. I know you will all be in tears but soon she will learn that her Daddy can comfort is a different way. Im sure yall have tried this I just had to put my two cent in...hehe. Take care...

Im so jealous of your 70 degree weather! I think we may hit the low 60's at some point this week... I am so ready to be able to go to the park and just get out of the house for awhile. I love her little pink and brown outfit with matching bow!

Have a great week!

Love all of the different headbands Harper wears. If I ever have a girl, she will be a headband girl also. Don't you just love how dad's always call just as you enter the store? Get used to it, babies always know when Momma's gone. Oh, and I'm wondering what you always order at Sonic? We don't have those locally.

The Stain Family said...

First of all, have to reply to Mrs. Dunbar...bless. your. heart. How do you live without Sonic?
Kelly, thanks for the prayer list, it's what my heart needs.

Scott needs to form a bond with Harper. I know when we nurse we seem to do all the stuff all the time, it was really hard for me to let my husband deal with things his own way. When I would go out, the same things would happen, but I needed my hubby to try and figure out how to console her on his own, I would give him suggestions on things to try and I tried really hard to NOT let him give up! Even when I was home, I helped him through somethings, and before you knew it, he was the one that could get them to stop crying right away! Sometimes only mommy could make the crying stop, but at least he tried and as they got older they couldn't wait to be with Daddy! I have 3 children and when I was nursing, my hubby would bring them to me and then be the burper and diaper changer and that was some great bonding time for him! I love reading your blog and I still have the Harper button on my page!!!

She looks adorable!!! I remember those days when my sweet husband tried to give me time away yet as soon as I was gone they would cry. I am so sorry to hear about the Tipping family loss. I will pray for them.

Hi Kelly! My name is Nancy. I follow your blog.... we have so many things in common. You are a wonderful mommy! I have two precious girls after struggling with infertility too. God is AWESOME! Your baby girl is just ADORABLE! Enjoy every second, minute, hour....it's hard in the beginning, but it will pass...soon enough you will be out shopping and she'll be under the racks like my two munchkins! Thank you for sharing your life with a stranger like me. Blessings to you and your family :)

Hi Kelly, I'm sorry to hear about the Tipping family and I will hold them up in my prayers.
On a lighter note I do enjoy reading your blog, I'm in Australia so find it quite interesting and "American" (I wouldn't expect anything else). I must admit I have a bit of a giggle about your hair styles! They seem so similar and perfect amoungst your friends and family, especially in this last blog. This is coming from a messy haired visit the hair dresser 3 times a year girl! Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike your hair.....maybe I have hair envy! I find it interesting how you do things in your part of the world.
I'm loving the regular pics of Harper and can't believe how she's growing so fast!

Have you had a chance to try our your new Biggest Loser workout DVD's? I went straight to Amazon and bought some for myself after you blogged about it.

Sorry I never got around to including you in a post after emailing you. I really did mean to. But I blogged about my new workout DVD's the other day and linked to you. Hope that makes up for it a little bit!

I love your little gangsta!

I keep forgetting you can't take Harper out. I'm reading about her not liking being away from you and thinking "why don't you just take her with you." But then I had my duh moment of you're not supposed to.
I am ready for the warmer weather. I'm hoping for high 60s/low 70s. I really hate it when we just have to push right on thru to 80s!!

I love Sonic! I plan my day around Happy Hour from 2-4. My co-workers think I am just really talented to leave on time every day at 3:30; little do they know that I won't make it to Happy Hour at Sonic if I don't!

And, I have been watching more than my fair share of Lifetime movies while I have been on spring break from teaching. Did you see the polygamist one? I have several recorded to watch this week. :)

Such a precious girl! And you just wait...my daughter used to wail when I would hand her to my husband and walk away, but in a few short years, she was (and still is) a Daddy's girl through and through!

Madison Sanders said...

It's ok for you to be gone. She needs to get used to that.

I'm sure Scott is doing just fine. :)

Besides, it's good for her to cry, it helps her lungs.

Don't worry so much and you'll be fine. I'd say she's turning out pretty good, don't you?
