Picture-less Post

I'm doing something I NEVER do - a post with no pictures! GASP!

Today was a day where Harper just didn't sleep at all and I was trying to get a lot done around the house so there was just no time for posting. I promise I'll be back tomorrow with lots of pictures.

In the meantime - a lot of you have been asking me questions in your comments and I'm not good about getting around to each of you to answer them but I thought I would open up one post to any question you might have. About where I get Harper's bows and clothes to blogging questions to spiritual questions - whatever you have. And then I'll take the top 10-20 questions and answer them for you.

So fire away.

No Pictures! I really do enjoy them but I totally understand needing to get things done. I will be in a whirl tomorrow trying to make the living room presentable for the Parents as Teachers visits at 9 am. Thank goodness out parent educator was a childhood friend......now if I can only get my little one to sleep....he keeps telling me he is not going night night.
I love Harpers bows. We checked out the selection at Belly BUttons the other day when we took Aaron for Valentine photos.....too bad my nieces are too big for the bows!

So how did you become "blog famous"! LOL!! There are so many blogs, how did so many find yours? And yes, where do you get her bows and headbands?

Kelly,
Glad to see you all are settling in at home-Miss Harper is keeping you busy busy though! ;) She is a beautiful girl and all of her outfits are just too cute! OK, my totally shallow question, what did you think about Jason sending Jillian home on Monday? Shocker! And...do you think that this is really going to be the most dramatic final episode in Bachelor history in 2 weeks or are they blowing smoke? ;) Told you it was shallow! And I am so sorry if you have already addressed The Bachelor in an earlier post. I haven't gotten to have much "blog" time lately bc things have been busy at work. Anyway, I'm rambling now. This is my burning question. ;) Oh yes, and what does Harper think of her daily fashion shows? :)

What was the turning point for your blog to go from blog lurkers to lots of blog commenters? Too, what were the results from Harper's recent MRI regarding the lining of her brain?

This is the most important question :). I know it is early on in the season, but who do you think could win American Idol this year?? I hope you've been able to keep up because you certainly have more important things going on besides watching TV shows! Harper is beautiful and i'm so happy the Lord is continuing to bless you and your family!!

Kelly,
It always seems like the days when you are trying to get so much completed the little ones are the busiest. My husband told me to take pride in simply getting my mothering done and not to worry so much about my nice little list that I love to check off. I feel so blessed to "follow your blog." Your faith is awesome. My whole family has been praying for you guys!

When will Harper be able to go out into the real world and show off how cute she is? Will you be going back to work or become a SAHM? Question posts are fun!

Just wanted to say hi, I ran across your blog somehow today, and looked back at some of your earlier posts. I just wanted to say that Harper's nursery is by far the cutest I have ever seen..I have never seen zebra baby stuff its adorable. What does Harper have that she can't be around people? I'm glad to see you say she is getting better, and I will put her on my lifegroup's prayer list.

Kelly,

I just simply adore you..because You appreciate Harper so much. I have a HARD time here lately with people that don't appreciate their little blessings.

I was wondering What was the process of you falling in love with the name Harper Brown?

It is sooo adorable by the way!

Kelly - Love reading your blog. I do have one questions but you may not be ready to answer it and/or it may not be something you want to share. BUT...I just wondered if you were planning on writing down the events of Harper's birth and what happened during delivery for you. I just wondered - not that you have to share any of that. I realize that it was something very painful and extremely personal. But, since you asked...I had just wondered.

Also, I would love for my house to look so put together like yours. Any good ideas on where to start? I just don't have a good eye for things, but want to learn to decorate well.

Thanks!! :)

Random question here - Am I the only one having trouble leaving a comment for the M&M give away? I can't get the comment box to show more than 1/4-1/2 of it and then I can't see any of the verification letters, so I can't enter! Obviously I am a person who loves chocolate!!! :)

I love keeping up with your blog and will continue to keep Harper in my prayers.

I have a friend with a one year old daughter named Harper also. Cute name. It was her maiden name.

I love the brown blanket that someone sent you when you were at the hospital. She sent one to you and one to your mom with your names on them. Does the person who made these have a website?

Love the pictures of Harper!!

You mean we dont get to see sweet Harper's face? Hopefully tomorrow!

My question: I have seen you reference infertility several times, but with all the back-reading I still haven't been able to find your story. So what is your infertility story?
I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was younger and my husband and I are putting it all in God's hands. We know that it could take many months or years to conceive, and it is such a blessing to see the way God has blessed ya'll.

Dear Kelly,
I just started reading your blog a few weeks ago, just in time to pray for sweet beautiful Harper. Praise the LORD! I'm so glad to read that she is doing so well and I will continue to pray for her and your family. I loved reading your blog because I went to John Brown and I actually worked at the Razorback games my senior year (2005-2006)! They should warn newcomers about that whole "calling the hogs" thing!
Anyway I decided I needed to comment on all the blogs I read so here I am!

I have 3 questions:

1)If this is too personal, just ignore! I am wondering what you were diagnosed with as a cause for IF? I just recently came across your blog (and I will admit that I have read through several of your previous posts). You are SUCH an encouragement!

2) When and how did you tell family and friends about your IF? I am strugling with how/when to tell them. Only a few close friends know about our issues, and it's kind of akward to bring up with some family members. But at the same time I really think they should know so they can pray with us.

3) Are there any blog groups about IF that you found helpful/encouraging?

Thanks!

Darn, no cute little Harper picture tonight. I took my 3 daughters to Sonic today after school since it reached 70 degrees. I tried a vanilla diet coke slush on your good recommendation - surprisingly delicious :)

I came to your site after seeing a "pray for Harper" button. So my question is "why was Harper so sick?" She had fluid in her lungs, correct? She was a full-term baby? I checked back one time but couldn't find where you may have mentioned it. (if that's too nosey, you can ignore)

Trudy said...

Sorry, it's me again. Just read that she was definitely a full term baby :) and that she had pneumonia. Wondering how she got it in utero? What a miracle she is!

Oh, I miss seeing Harper today... but I've got something to look forward to tomorrow!

Delurking to say I cannot believe someone anonymously told you that they hope this doesn't become a baby blog! I LOVE your blog because of Harper. I have no clue what your blog was before since I found your blog after Harper was born. Anyway, my 2 cents- your blog is just fine!

My question- do you have nursery pictures that I missed somewhere? I saw the FABULOUS changing table/dresser your dad made (!!!) and I could kind of see the wall color. MORE!!!

Lacy said...

Oh, Kelly! I do have a few random questions for you!
#1 - Where did you get your Christmas card designed/made...scrapblog?

#2 - Although you are in no way ready to explore this at the moment, I was wondering if you will try for another baby?

#3 - What kind of camera do you have?

#4 - What dishes did you make up to freeze...or what are your favorites to freeze?

#5 - Ohh, did you get a "push present?" You deserve a big one for pushing out a 10-pounder! I had a "cut with love" present for my 10-pounder...a mommy necklace.

Now go give that baby a kiss! Thanks for blessing my life!

Kelly,
I have been following your blog ever since you have been pregnant with Harper. I found it through one of my friend’s blogs. I just want to say though what an amazing heart you have. You make a wonderful mom. Harper is so precious in all her cute bows and outfits. It is totally ok that you dress her up and take pictures. I do that as well so my parents and in-laws can see just how cute she looks in her little outfits that she is growing out of so fast. I live in Texas but am from Springdale, AR. I truly miss living there but my husband’s job brought us to Texas. Moving to Texas has truly been a blessing in disguise, but it’s just so encouraging to find a blog who lives in Northwest Arkansas. You mention places in your blog I know and it truly makes my day when I read it.
Ok, I just wrote a whole story to really not ask you a question, but to introduce myself and tell you how encouraging you are. Maybe one of these days I’ll run into you while I’m visiting my family, still praying for your precious family.

How many children do you think you will have?

Robyn said...

Oh good-questions!! First, are you going back to work? I haven't heard you mention it even during pregnancy but could have missed it because I just found your blog during Harper's birth and haven't read your entire blog. Ok I am saying this out of pure honesty...you are one person I would love to meet in real life. I live in Texarkana and I really get a lot of things you do and say. You seem like a really neat person. Anyway...one more question, are your parents really as awesome as they seem? Not a fair question but really they both seem like fairytale parents and grandparents. Count your blessings!

Veronica said...

Your faith is inspiring. Harper is so very blessed to have a Mommy like you!

How did your infertility, pregnancy journey and Harper being so sick after birth affect your relationship with the Lord?

Amanda Spain said...

Hey Kel!

From previous post, we have seen Harper's room, the living room, and the kitchen....which i adore! My favorite are the cabinets:) What does the rest of your home look like? If you have time one day..lol...please post pictures!

Robyn said...

Ok one more -can't believe I forgot this one. I know you and your family are not ones to lay blame, that is NOT what I mean, I am always just curious to learn how and why things happen, especially if they can be prevented in the future. Ok was the fact that they let you go over and have a near 10 pound baby the reason she had fluid in her lungs? You know doctors really should have caught that she would have been that big right? It may be an old wives tale but I had heard that over 40 weeks causes trouble, etc, etc. Anyway, just curious why it might have happened, other than the fact that it was all in HIS plan. LOVE THIS BLOG!

You are so sweet to let us ask you questions. I love stuff like this!!

1. Will Harper have a sibling?

2. Do you have a system that you use for your prayer time? I know you are praying for soooo many people, especially for women to get pregnant, so I was wondering if you pray for certain ones each day, or if you have certain list you follow. Basically, how do you organize your prayer life??

Looking forward to hearing your answers to some of the questions??

I have a question! Someone gave you a necklace that is either tear drop or oval shape, and it says Harper's mommy on it. You wore it a lot while you were in the hospital. Hi Kelly,I miss my daily Harper picture! What a darling she is. I read all the other questions and no one has asked this and you may not want to answer but.. are y'all doing ok financially? I know how expensive 20 days in the NICU can be. Any medical treatmemt is out of sight. I had one chemo treatment that was over $10,000!! I read on another blog that you said to give donations to the Ronald McDonald House in Harper's name and I will gladly do that, but am still worried about you. Insurance will only cover so much. You have blessed my life so much, it would be a small thing to help with medical expenses.
What would you do if all the Blogger Aunts showed up at your house to see Harper? The line would circle the town! I don't think any child has had this much attention. Great things are in store for her.
Keeping you in my heart in GA.

OK, I've got a silly question that I don't think has been asked yet....

We're northern transplants (i.e. Michigan fans) to NWA. Our kids have become Razorback fanatics since our move down here. They call "piggyback" rides Razorback rides! They know how to call the Hogs better than I do! LOL!

Many posts back, I think it was you who posted the difference between southern and northern female football fans. As I'm sitting here at work in my Michigan hoodie sweatshirt (for casual Friday) and tennis shoes. I know I DEFINITELY fall into the Northern Girl category.

So my question.... how do I raise my 4 year old to be a respectable southern football fan!? (or basketball, etc). She's already more of a girly-girl than I'll ever be! And I'm quite sure I'm holding her back (she came home from the hospital 4 years ago with Baby Jordan's and a basketball -- not a cute little dress). :)

So happy that you're all home and doing well. Our prayers are continuing for sweet Harper... prayers for an iron-clad immune system so you can all get out and enjoy the spring weather when it finally gets here!

I love your blog and love seeing the miracle right there in your arms! My question:
Have you thought about writing a book that tells of your journey from infertility until today? Look at the number of people who have prayed for Harper. If each of us buy a copy you could be a
"Stay At Home Mom" with out any problem! Think about it.

How's nursing going? Nursing a NICU baby is a huge challenge - what would your advice be to other mothers out there to ensure success?

Kelly,
I have really enjoyed reading your blog and I love the headbands and bows for Harper. My daughter was born with no hair so we had to dress her in pink all the time so people wouldn't call her a boy. So question one is where do you get all her bows and question two is...the pediatric nurse in me is curious as to what happened. what type of infection made harper so sick? Your story and faith have really made me look at my own faith and re-examine. Thank you for your story, you have helped bring me closer to God and learn to trust Him more when things get tough!

Hi Kelly! I miss the pics of Harper, but TOTALLY get you on needing some time to rest! Also, I have a few questions I'd like to submit:

1) I LOVE your style. Where do you find cute clothes, what are your must-have items, and what kind of style would *you* say that you have?

2) Are you going to write a book or take on speaking engagements when Harper gets a little older? Through Harper's health issues came a wonderful ministry opportunity, and I don't think God's quite through with you yet!

3) How did your blog get so famous? I know when Harper was born, you called on everyone you knew to pray for her, but WOW what a response! God showed up big time, didn't he?

Where did you get your blog background? I'm just starting to blog, and I have a lot to learn.

Are you going to do a post about Harper's birth story? Or did you already do it and I just missed it? :)

Where did you purchase the onesie with the bow and Harper's name on it? I'm 8 months pregnant and would LOVE one for my little girl.

When is Dawson coming home? Or is home at your parents now?

A chance for questions?!?!? How I wish I knew you personally so you could impart all of your knowledge on me! :) Before I'd mentioned that you'd inspired me to start blogging... Well, I've tried but.... YIKES! How do I customize my blog, how do I add buttons, where do I go for blog help, etc.??? Where did you learn everything you know?

Thanks, Kelly!

Hi Kelly! Sure missed lil Harper's pic today. I've been following your blog for a little over a month now...Harper was born 6 days after my grand-daughter, so its fun to watch both of these little ones as they grow and change. Just wanted to wish you a great day!

Given everything you've experienced recently, what would you say to someone who says there is no God?

How would you witness to them?

When you were dealing with infertility how did you stay relaxed and faithful? I am feeling so overwhelmed with stress, there isn't a day I don't think about getting pregnant.

I have read alot of everyones questions so far and I have some of the same so I won't bother repeating them, but I do want to share a little encouragment. I know that you've already made it over your infertility battle, but I am just still so amazed by God. My friend and her husband ablsolutely loved children and tried and tried to get pregnant, but they weren't able so they went to the Dr to check and see if something was wrong. The Dr. told her that it would be impossible for them to concieve. There was no way that it would be able to happen. So they came to church one day and asked for prayer because there hearts were breaking. Our church surrounded them with prayers for months and what do you know, our God is so faithful! They became pregnant with a little girl.(no complications whatsoever) :) And the greatest part is that the just recently had there third child! Isn't God good!

I am dieing to know where you get all of Harper's cute momgrammed clothing. Especially the little number she wore in her Feb. 12 "Photo Shoot" post. I have two little girly girls, and I am in love with Harper's wardrobe!!!

No pictures! LOL! My daughter would let me play dress up with her.

I've been following Harper's story and was wondering what exactly happened to Harper at birth? I figured it was meconium aspiration, but didn't know for sure.

I too wonder when Dawson will be rejoining your family.

I have noticed the interest that you and many of your friends have with monogramed gifts. I was sharing your blog and all Harper's cute clothing/accessories with my very practical daughters and they asked, 'How do they pass on all those personalized things?' They share theirs with family, church family, and a local woman's shelter. What do you plan to do as Harper outgrows her wardrobe?

Where did you get Harper's name?

What meals did you freeze before going to the hospital?

What are the results of Harper's MRI?

What are your favorite Etsy shops?

What are some must haves for baby?

Do you have a sling?

Are you breastfeeding? Any tips?

Curious to know if you'll have more children? Harper would be a wonderful big sister, I bet...:) If so, will you wait a few years or try soon?

Please don't stop posting pictures of that sweet baby! We all love hearing about her and seeing her darling outfits!

Here is my question -
What is your opinion on the Mom with octuplets?
You gotta have an opinion! HA! ;0)

What do you wish your parents knew about raising a daughter in the parsonage? I have two girls, and am the wife of a pastor to youth and young adults at a church of about 800. My girls are known around the church, and know their way around at ages 3 1/2 and 1! How can I protect them from the fish bowl effect (perfection expected, right?!)?

How do you pass on clothes that are monogrammed? My 2nd daughter has almost all hand-me-down clothes!

What's your favorite places to shop online?

What is the origin of Harper's name?

Are you going back to work or staying home now?

What are your "can't skip a day without reading" blogs?

How are you handling staying at home all of the time? Are you going crazy? Can your friends come see you?

My husband and I have been struggling with unexplained infertility for 2 years now. We just recently had our first IUI and are praying that it worked! How do you decide how far to go in your infertility treatments? When do you step back and realize that God may have other plans for you? These are questions we have had; I was wondering how you and your husband felt about them.

I was finally able to leave a comment and enter the chocolate contest! My screen is still messed up and I can't see the whole comment box, but I managed to get it to work. Now hopefully I win some chocolate! :)

Kind of dumb question...how do you get your blog set up for three columns? I just did my paperwork for BlogHer and I want to have another column for ads.

LisaShaw said...

No pressure to post photos or posts. Do it as you can. Your priority is your sweet baby girl, your hubby and you and of course the LORD. We'll wait on you for when time permits.

Love you much and so glad Harper is doing so well.
