Catfish and Hats

Laurie and Steve's parents are all in town this weekend for Emily's 3rd birthday party. They called us to see if we wanted to go eat at the Catfish Hole with them................let me think......

YES!!!!!!
That is one plate of pure heaven right there! I LOVE fried catfish and they have the best hushpuppies in the world. I could literally sit and eat about 200 if I let myself. Even the CEO of Wal-Mart was there eating tonight. :-) He knows what is good!
(I'm sure I will be swollen up tomorrow after all that salt intake but it's so worth it!)
Another table got sung "Happy Birthday" to them and Emily thought it was for her - so we asked them to come sing to her. She didn't know what to think but they gave her a plate full of tootsie roll pops!
I found this whole set of crochet hats on e-bay for like $10 and I got them today. I put some of Harper's bows on a few of them to see how cute they will look. I went to Hobby Lobby this week and bought a few big flowers on 1/2 price and I'm going to hot glue them to alligator clips to put on the hats as well! I also got 6 crochet headbands on e-bay for $4. So Harper is guaranteed to have something on her head at all times! And I can't wait! I plan to make the flower barrettes tomorrow and maybe a tutu or two! (Say that 3 times fast) ha! It will be fun to put all this on her and take picture after picture!!!!! She's only little once - I'm not wasting any time!

I came across your blog and I wanted you to know that I have enjoyed reading all of your entries and am so excited for you and your husband with Harper on the way! Blessings on you and your family during this incredibly exciting season!

That dinner looks delicious!

Cute hats! I wish I could get A to leave a hat on her head--I think they're soooo precious! She has a little purple knit hat that I LOVE but she won't leave it on for more than two seconds! Maybe if you start Harper really early she'll never know the difference! I saved all the red tulle off our Christmas tree (I don't want to use it on there next year), so I'm going to attempt to make a practice tutu. If it's not too time consuming, I might try to make one for her birthday party--otherwise I'll probably order that cute one from my blog post. I'm afraid our computer crashed tonight (I'm on L's laptop), so my goal of doing Shutterfly photo books for both kids' birthdays might not work out after all--more time to make tutus, I suppose!? :( What on earth will I do without a computer at home!?!?!

Okay...first of all, I LOVE fried catfish!! Steve's whole family is from Mississippi and that is one thing we always get when we're there (along with fried pickles!)

And, those little crocheted hats are absolutely adorable! I love the little bows on them. You always find the best things on e-bay!

I can't wait to see all the cute stuff you are planning on making!

My parents always take us there when we visit. The closest thing I get to a catfish dinner in RI is at the Cracker Barrel and it's not that great!

I love the Catfish Hole. It's like 3 minutes from our house and Josh and I love to take his family there when they are up here. I love, love their chicken tenders, and fries, and hush puppies and sweet tea, and pickles. You get the picture!! Haha!

Sweet hats and bows! Haper is going to be dressed so cute!

Mmmmmm, fried food. When I was pregnant, I would eat three orders of friend okra at Cracker Barrel. Yes, three. And also, yes, completely swollen the next day! Drink lots of water :)

Okay - as soon as I saw the pictures, I recognized that catfish. Catfish Hole is our favorite!

I'm with ya - Harper is only little once so bow, hat, flower, and tutu that girl up...my girls haven't touched a bow in years and it makes me sad!

I'm so happy for you that she is almost here.

Darling hats. Can't wait to see your creations. You are so smart not to waste any time! I'm holding on to hair bows as long as I can. I was shocked to hear around 7 they refuse to wear them???? How sad!

I don't know how you do it Kelly! We are expecting our first baby in March and I am in a complete panic over how much we have left to do - and here you are getting gifts for all your nurses and finding cute hats for Harper on ebay. You're an inspiration to me - at 28 weeks I'm already slowing down and wondering how I'll get it all done. Thanks for all the ideas and encouragement!

Oh I love catfish, too! In fact, we went to a local seafood restaurant last night and had some good ole' hushpuppies and catfish, too! I'm with you --I usually fill up on hushpuppies before my food ever comes! I just don't understand why I can't seem to lose any weight!!! (-:

Those hats are adorable and I can't wait to see little Miss Harper in them! Too cute for words!

Those little hats are just precious. She's going to look so cute in them!

And sweet mercy that plate of food has made me so hungry! I will tell you, that sort of food was what I pigged out on the night I went into labor with our oldest daughter! I had been eating "light" small meals all week and I was so over that. It was my due date and I was down because there was NO progress. My husband was working late trying to get the office taken care of and I talked my parents into taking me to Cracker Barrel...and I ate and ate and ate....just a few hours later we were on our way to the hospital! Southern food does the trick for me!!

Praying for you...you are going to do great!

I love those hats! Too cute.

Addie use to keep hats on her head, not so much anymore. Drives me nuts when she pulls them off. She won't even leave ponytails in anymore. The only thing she doesn't bother is clips. So I put those in a lot anymore.

I can't wait to "meet" your baby girl! You are so close to her being here.
