11:30 Saturday
Praise Jesus for He is good!!! Scott just called to tell me that he just went to see Harper and the nurse said she is not even on the list for bypass (ECMO) because the doctor thinks she is responding so well to what they are doing she may not even need it. We were told in not so many words yesterday that she may not survive at all and because of so many prayers all over the world - she is improving hour by hour. We have had so much kindness shown to us over the last 24 hours - I can not even begin to tell you. Scott has had several people that we don't know but who read our blog come to see him and even brought him things. He just called me crying because he couldn't believe the kindness we have been shown. It's so overwhelming. Our whole family has cried so much because of the overwhelming kindness of friends and strangers. It certainly has encouraged us to do more for others ourselves.

5:30 a.m. Saturday
I realize I should be sleeping but it's just not coming and you know how hospitals are - I get woken up every minute anyway. The doctor from the neo-natal unit in Tulsa (yes - it's St. Francis) called me at 4 to let me know Harper was there and she was stable. They are running tests on her heart and her brain and doing a few more things before they can start the bypass. Shortly after - Scott and his parents got there and they got to see her again. I have to say that I have never loved my husband more than I do right now. He has been my rock. We have shed more tears in the last 8 hours than we probably have our entire lives but we also know that we want God to get all the glory and praise and honor in whatever happens in our baby's life.
I have such a peace about her being in Tulsa and it was just confirmed to me as I read the comments and a nurse from pediatrics said the nurses there had already been praying for us. And I just recieved an e-mail from someone who went through an almost identical situation and her daughter is now a healthy 3 year old. Thank you Jesus for sending me all of these encouragers and prayer warriors. It is NOT by accident that so many of you have found my blog and are now praying.

12:30 a.m. Saturday morning

Change of plans - AR children's hospital was all booked up so they are about to fly my baby to Tulsa. They are going to be doing a heart/lung bypass on her and the last time we spoke with the doctor - he gave us more hope. Her heart is just fine. She has pneumonia in her lungs and it's just very, very serious. We were able to go up and see her and touch her. They have her put under and paralyzed so she can't move so they can treat her. But she's just beautiful. She's BIG - but beautiful! ;-) I told her we have so many people praying for her and she is going to live and come home to wear all her pretty monogrammed dresses.
I have been sitting here crying about all the people we have praying for us. I can't even begin to tell you what that means to our family. It was what is keeping me from completely falling apart right now. I have comfort in my Jesus. He will never leave me or forsake me. I don't know what His plans are........whether we will be able to keep Harper on this earth with us or not - but I know that I know that I know that He is good and He loves me and He is holding my hand right now.

I just hopped over here from My Special K's and wanted to let you know I'm praying for Harper (love the name, BTW). We also had problems getting pregnant and I've also had a baby spend 7 days in the NICU, so I feel your pain. It is so hard and I pray that Harper continues to respond to the treatment. Hugs to you...

So glad to get on here to see the great news!!! We read last night about little Harper needing prayer and that is exactly what we did. I even told our two year old about Harper and her needing prayers for Jesus to heal her little body and he said a prayer for her. I love how the kingdom works and just the thought of how many people were praying for that precious baby last night just gives me goosebumps! And then to get on now and see that she is going better but also that she is in Tulsa!! That is where we live!!! I know you probably have hundreds of people tell you this but if you all need ANYTHING while you are here please please send me a comment on my blog or something and we can somehow connect. We have a wonderful church family and I know that between all of us anything you need can be taken care of. We will continue to pray for little Harper and I would love to hear personally from you so we can keep in touch with you and her!
And yes...God is soooo good!

Hi Kelly,
You don't know me but I've been reading your blog for months and I just adore you and your family. When I looked at the blog this morning, I just started crying. My husband and I are praying for you. We have a little girl who is 9 months old and I just look at her and think how difficult it would be to go through something like this.

Many Blessings,

Kelly,
I have been reading your blog for a short time and you and your story have really touched my heart. I love checking each seeing what you are up to, what positive and uplifting things you have to say for the day, and the latest on what cute outfit Harper will be wearing when she arrived.

Praise the Lord that your sweet baby girl is finally here! I had to hold back tears this morning at work when I saw that things were not going well, but have been filled with joy with each new update of little Harper's improving condition. It is truly amazing to see how many people have commented on your blog but because of your incredible attitude that is conveyed through your blog, it is definitely not difficult to see why so many total strangers care about you and your family. I will continue to pray for you, Scott, Harper and her grandparents that the good news will keep coming and that in no time will be seeing precious pictures of Harper sporting her fabulous wardrobe! Reading your posts and seeing your faith while dealing with this situation have honestly been inspirational. Continue to stay strong and know that people everywhere are thinking of you.

Kelly, I know you are receiving a TON of comments from people you don't know. I can't help but reach out-- I feel a huge bond with your family....I keep reading your blog.... Harper's Story is the exact same story my daughter Kayelyn has.... She was born with no surfactant in her lungs and blew two pneumothorax in her lungs. She was life flighted and and in the hospital for 6+ weeks.... The talked to us about ECMO and then took her off the list.... This is a very rare occurance in full term babies. Kayelyn was 8lbs 14 oz.... She WILL make it!! I am uplifted by your strength and faith in God. Thats how I made it through those 6 weeks of hell.... Please don't hesitate to contact me if you want to talk. I have been there and know how you feel.... www.brew-aggie.blogspot.com.

PRAISE GOD IN HEAVEN! I came to your blog via Angie Smith's blog, and I'm so glad that she and you have shared this amazing testimony of our Father's work! When I read the earlier posts of worry with your daughter's situation, my heart felt weak. I wanted to pray, but didn't even know how to sincerely bring my requests to God because as a mom myself, I could honestly ask for only one selfish thing on your behalf, which is that you'd be bringing a beautiful and healthy daughter home in no time! Your strength, to know and accept that He could have other plans for her and for you is phenomenal! Your heart is inspiring! I'm so glad that, though in less-than-stellar circumstance, I've come to read your blog. Congratulations upon meeting your daughter, as you so anxiously waited for this time, and for the incredible opportunity to see our awesome God actively moving in her life already!

Kelly, my mother-in-law Carol has a blog and asked me to check your blog out so I would know to pray for you and your family. My aunt is a NICU nurse at St. Francis, and also a believer. I don't know if she's involved with your precious baby girl, but if she knows about it, I know she's praying right along with everyone else! While I don't know you personally, it's amazing how the love of Christ can burden other believer's hearts to pray for fellow brothers and sisters in Him. All of you are in my prayers! I just read this verse this morning--I hope you can find strength and joy in it like I did. "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly ABOVE all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us" Eph. 4:20.

Oh Kelly, this is such wonderful news. I have to tell you that we are so grateful for this latest update. My parents are here visiting us this weekend and they know of you through my blog. We have all been praying and praying for you. Both my Mom and I hardly slept last night, I found myself laboring in prayer hour after hour and asking the Lord to please grant Harper mercy and healing. It is no accident that for all these months, hundreds of us have fallen in love with you and Scott and have excitedly followed your pregnancy. It is so evident now that God has been raising up an army of believers to go before Him on your behalf, for such a time as this. I commend you for bringing the Lord your sacrifice of praise, and it has been a sacrifice, when your world was turned upside down. He will honor your faithfulness to Him Kelly. He loves you dearly and He loves Harper more than even you could. He has ordained her every day and I am amazed at how He is already using her to reach thousands of people. We love you, we are praying for you, and we ache with you. Rest in His strength today and know this has not been in vain...You are a precious friend, I have wept many tears with you in the last 24 hours and have been grateful to walk this journey alongside you, all the way from Minnesota. "Who is like our God?" He is worthy of our praise and our love...Blessings to you as you travel to Tulsa. I can't wait for you to get there with your man and that precious baby girl. I thank you for speaking life over Harper. Thank you for your great love for her. Thank you that she will have a great testimony, and a long life to tell it. Thank you for the best care for her. Let every hand that touches her be an extension of Your Hands. May the healing power of the Holy Spirit permeate her isolette. Thank you that You are the air she breathes and that each breath brings her closer to complete healing. Thank you for nurses who will speak your words over her. Thank you for upholding the family with your mighty hand. In your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand, pleasure for evermore. Kelly, Scott and Harper!! I stumbled across your blog a while back, lost the address and recently re-found it. I have been reading about little Harper's progress and it brings back sooo many memories. My son was born 14 weeks early and we spent 4 months in the NICU... and is now turning 6 in a few weeks. I understand the fear, helplessness, confusion and stress that you may be feeling. Take comfort in knowing that Harper is in the BEST place she can be for medical attention and the doctors and nurses are doing everything they can to get her home to you. There is a special place in heaven for all NICU nurses and neonatologists. I too am praying for you here in Midwestern Illinois!! Get some rest and try to stay calm, Harper will need your strength!!! Good Luck and God Bless!

All of Southern Ohio was praying for her, just like your blogging friends are for you now. MaKenna's grandma called us "MaKenna's Prayer Warriors". Harper (and her family) is being lifted up in prayer by her warriors. I'm praying without ceasing. Keep the faith, Dear Ones.

Kelly,
I am praying for you, Scott, Harper & your families. The NICU ride is bumpy - ups, downs & everything in between, BUT our God is BIGGER than all of it!
My son is in the NICU right now; and if I said that it wasn't stressful, I'd be lying....he was born 8 weeks early so I knew to expect a NICU stay. I, however, cannot imagine the feeling of having your term-baby in the NICU. You are all in my prayers.
Held by His Mighty Hand,
Lauren

I found myself holding him tighter and tighter as I read. I can not imagine what you are going through. I'm praying and praying for you so hard. Good luck with everything. Stephanie Smith

Hang in there....soon you will be home with your little one and this will all be a distant memory! You and Harper are in my prayers. The CUTE cookies you baked for visitors etc... I loved your style and just kept reading and then this morning as I was checking my blog I saw the post about pray for baby Harper and started crying because I knew at that moment I didn't "stumble" on your blog yesterday... GOD led me there and HE is so faithful - he knows my heart and he knows I am a prayer warrior and he knew I would be on my knees for your sweet angel... Kelly,
I have been following your blog over the past few months and am praying for your family and sweet Harper. I have a 16 month old boy, Andrew, who was born at 32 weeks and was in critical care in the NICU at Mercy in Rogers. They told us he would be there for at least 8 weeks. I didn't get to see him until the next day and he was breathing on his own! He only had to stay two weeks! PTL! I know how hard it is to have your baby taken and told that they may not make it. I also know that God is good and will take care of those special babies. We'll keep your family in our prayers.

Take care of yourself too and give Scott a big hug. He sounds like an awesome husband and will be an incredible Dad! Praying for God's peace and safe travels as you go to Tulsa to be with your precious Harper. She is a fighter.

I am not much of a singer, but one of my fav Praise the Lord! verses was probably sung by King David. "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart Trusts in Him and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song." Psalm28:7. I know that the hard time has passed for your lil' family, but always keep this verse close to your heart. Your faith and trust in the Lord during this dark time is such an inspiration and testament. You and your fam are in my heart and prayers.

Thank you for your tremendous testimony in your reliance on the Lord. While this is never an easy road to travel, He is there with you as He has been with us. I have cried so many times just knowing that you have literally THOUSANDS of people praying for all of you. I KNOW that God will hear our prayers and be faithful. Praise Him that things are turning upward. I absolutely cannot wait to see that first family picture of you and Scott and Harper together. I know this is not how you would have daydreamed it in your head, but God just keeps wanting you to love Harper more and more doesn't He? As if that were possible right? He also wants to show you new characteristics in Scott that will make you love Him even more, as if you thought THAT was possible! Isn't God's plan so complicated yet so divine?
God allows what He hates to accomplish what He loves sweet Kelly.
Bless you and all that you have been through in the last 24 hours.

i found your blog through boomama's & angie smith's blogs. i have been praying for your precious little girl since last night when i read the news of her condition at birth. i've also been praying that God would give you an extra measure of strength and peace as you are dealing with this away from your husband and new baby. as you said, He was the same God yesterday morning as He is today, and He will see you through this. you obviously have a TON of people praying for you, so i know you are feeling that power right now!

i am due anyday as well with a baby girl, and it is such a comfort to know that these children are truly God's and not ours. the control freak in me wants to fight that so much, but in the end, there is so much peace that overcomes our mommy fears when we acknowledge that He Never Lets Go!

i'll keep praying and keep checking for updates. love, emily
