P.O.O.P.I.E.'s

Nesting Place is been doing a little decorating series on good or questionable fake flowers and plants in the house. She coined the term P.O.O.P.I.E (People Opposing Objectionable Pretend plants In the Environment. )

She is asking bloggers to display their good or bad fake floral arrangements or flowers in their house. I am apparently a big fan of the fake floral arrangement because I have a lot in my house.

This is on our kitchen table and I love it. I knew it was perfect when I saw it at a local store.
I picked this little arrangement up and it goes great on my sofa table.
I made this one out of 50% off goodies at Hobby Lobby. (Apparently I'm a fan of green, red and feathers because that is what all of mine are made of)
This arrangement is on my dining room table. I got it at the same place as the one on my kitchen place right after we bought this house.
I went to a ladies retreat at my church a few years ago and a lady did a segment on decorating and she picked me to come up and help her make an arrangement and then she let me keep it. It's in my guest bathroom.
I love this little thing with all the feathers. It sits up on my entertainment center above the TV.

What about you - do you like fake arrangements? Go over and see all the other people who either love them or hate them. We might get good ideas or "what not to do".

Cute arrangements. I love the feathers!

Where did you get the 2 jars on your sofa table? I saw one like that from Southern Living at Home with a price tag of $80 or so. I really like them but couldn't see spending that kind of money on anything. LOL

I wish we had a Hobby Lobby in town! :(

Honestly, these are great looking arrangements. I have the exact one you have (that's sitting on your entertainment center). My arrangement is attached to a tile so that I can move it anywhere and right now it sits on an urn displayed on the bombe chest in the entry.

Very pretty stuff!

All your arrangements look really really great! I don't feel like I'm good about putting things like that together though--they look great when other people do them, but I don't have many in my house--just a few plain green fake grasses coming out of vases here and there.

Yes, definitely needing ideas because I would buy out Michael's store but I have no idea where to go with what! Part of my problem is that we still live in a little condo and have no idea what our future house will look like so I don't have a theme or colors or anything, and I fear throwing away money on arrangements that may not work when we do buy a house. So I feel like we are kind of in limbo, but I'm sick of our place looking like a prison cell with no homeyness or personality.

Your arrangements are so beautiful!

I love that you use feathers in everything ;)! I had one fake arrangement at our old house but I have not put any out at the apt. I am just patiently waiting until we get into our new house!

I love all your arrangements! I really don't have any fake arrangements around my house. Maybe I'm afraid I will kill them like I do my outdoor plants!! haha! I could find a way to do it!

They are all beautiful arrangements! Mine?...not so much. Maybe I should post a few of my shabby ones as examples of what NOT to do. A week or so ago I was reading her blog and came across the initial P.O.O.P.I.E. post and was laughing out loud! I'll have to get over there and catch up on the latest!

I say Just say No to all fake flowers. Sorry

I bring in fresh flowers whenever I have some growing outside. I love to do that... but I'm not a fan of fake. Probably b/c it'd just be one more thing to gather dust and I hate creating more work for myself.
BUT I think I'm about to change. My dining room table is just way too naked. It needs something.

Did anyone find out where the jars are from??

love your arrangements! fake or real, doesn't matter to me - with certain expections, of course - like weddings, etc.

however, with cats i prefer silk plants - otherwise they would eat everything and be sick all the time!
