Shower Food

I thought I would share with you one recipe and one food idea from my shower tomorrow night.

One of my favorite little party foods is something my mom calls "Bunco Buns" or you could call them "Party Sandwiches" or just about anything you want to call them but they are so yummy!

You need:
1 pkg 24 party rolls (or I used 2 pkgs of 12 dinner rolls)
1/2 stick butter, melted
4 tablespoons poppy seeds
4 tablespoons mustard
4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Sliced ham
Swiss cheese

In a bowl - mix together the butter, poppy seeds, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
Spread sauce on both sides of rolls and put a piece of ham and cheese on each
Cover and bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until cheese melts. Best if served warm!!!!
Since it's summer - I thought it would be fun to make fruit kabobs. There is a place in town that has the BEST poppyseed dressing and I'm going to serve that with these. I thought it would be a fun way to serve summer fruit!

I LOVE those ham and swiss sandwiches--my friend Lianne made them for Pokeno one time, and I got the recipe from her. The only difference is that her recipe says to drizzle the mustard mixture over top of the sandwiches in a 9x13" pan and bake. They're probably not as messy the way you're doing them. So good though! And those fruit kabobs look delicious and summery! I always wish I could come to ever shower you throw at your house--you always do such neat/yummy things!

I found you through Preppy Mamma. If your looking for a cute way to display the fruit kaboobs at your shower: fill a pretty bowl with sugar and stick one end of the fruit kaboobs into the sugar so they are standing straight up. It makes such a pretty presentation. A friend brought fruit kaboobs this way to a party at my house and they were a huge hit.

I'm glad to hear that! I bought sliced anyway because that's all they had.

They were good, but I did make one big booboo in my haste to try them. I missed the COVER part. So we got some rather crusty little treats. I did add 1/4 tsp of sugar, since I really don't like mustard. I think it helped to cut the sharpness a little.

Hi. I had asked this question once before. I was talking to my twin today and she mentioned that wrought iron stand you have and I told her I had asked you where you got it and I didn't get a reply. I'm sure we don't really have a chance in finding one since we live in Illinois but I thought I would ask cause we just love it. You can email me at twin6045@yahoo.com. So happy for you and your hubby. I got married at 27 (that was considered old then lol) and we wanted to start having a family on our wedding night and 8 1/2 years later Logan came into our lives. I was almost 36 so I can really relate to what your going through. Well, worth the wait and the tear Kelly. After a while that part of your life is a distant memory. I thank GOD he gave me Logan and I would go through it all over again, and again :o)
