The Lord's Day

Today has been a very hectic day. Scott and I had both the 3 year old and the 4 year old classes and we had 17 kids in Sunday School. You can imagine how frazzled I was by the time I got to choir. (Although watching Scott interact with those little kids does put sunshine in my heart - he is so good with them).
So it was off to put on my choir robe and run through our songs a couple of times and then sit in the choir loft. We had a great service and I had to leave the choir early so I could get out of my robe and race to the foyer and put on my "welcome committee" badge and help people find Sunday School Classes. Then it was off to our second Sunday School Class.
And when that was over - we raced to the youth building for a meeting about DNOW. Scott and I will have 5-10 teenage girls in our house this coming weekend and one college girl. Please pray for us. :-) Guy and Julie are our support home so it should be a lot of fun.
After the meeting we went to lunch with Guy and Julie which was great because we were all famished. I've had a few hours to relax and now it's time to get ready for church again. I love Sundays and I love all the things I am involved in because I feel like I just can't serve God enough but today I just had to stop and pray these verses...........because I am someone who needs to say these daily. And this is what God desires from me even more than my running around trying to please Him.
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him Psalm 37:7
Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Sundays always feel really rushed for us...L drives the shuttle and I serve in the cafe during 1st service most weeks, then we attend 2nd service, rush to pick up R & A, rush home and grab some sort of lunch for everyone and put them down for naps. Those are great verses--I should read them every morning, but especially on Sundays! Sadly, Sunday mornings are usually when nerves are the most frazzled around our place!
