Disney Help

So our family is headed to Disney in October.  I used to not be very excited about the idea of going to Disney but right now I'm SO excited.   I have only been once before.

The Southern Baptist Convention was in Orlando when I was in college and my brother and I went along and while my parents were at the convention - we drove our mini van over to the happiest place on earth.

So we are headed with Laurie and her family and we already have our trip booked with a planner.  We are staying at Port Orleans and we have all of our meals reserved.

And I've already been hoarding outfits for the girls.

And this is where I need to share a disclaimer. We aren't taking Will Holden.  He will be having the best time with all 4 of his grandparents that week (they are splitting the week).  Now I know many of you are in the camp of people who love to take babies and toddlers to Disney but Scott and I aren't those people.  We don't want to spend a ton of money to go with a toddler who hates rides and is scared of characters (even thought he loves Mickey) and needs naps and a stroller and is so wild I would be chasing him the whole time.  We are already planning a very boy centered trip when he is about six - so don't worry! But we will have four girls who can go all day and into the night and love rides and are easy to travel with.  We love him and adore him but the best choice for our family is to wait until he's older.  But we wanted to take the girls before the princess magic wore off which is why we are going now with them.

So my questions are:

1.  Do you only wear tennis shoes or did you wear something like Tevas/Chacos?

2. Have you been in October and what was the weather like?

3.  What did you carry a little bit of stuff  in? A fanny pack? I need suggestions.

4.  Any other tips for a new timer? Now Steve has been many times and he has made spreadsheets and organized everything for us.  But I just want to know any things I might not think of and that Steve might not tell me. ha!
