A Country Thanksgiving

We spent thanksgiving in south AR at Scott's family.  We usually trade off our holidays so this was our turn to spend thanksgiving with them and we had the best time.

We had a very relaxed Thanksgiving.  We just had a small family gathering and it was super low key. But we had a lot of wonderful food!
This is my sweet family.

Harper loves being at her grandparents.  When we were leaving today she was begging Gigi to "hide her in a closet so she could stay there and live".

It always makes me feel so loved. ha!

These girls have four grandparents that just ADORE them.  I don't take that for granted.  We are SO blessed.
 Oh this little girl.

 My two turkeys.

We ate Thanksgiving dinner instead of lunch this year and just spent a lot of time relaxing!

And because I love comparisons......my family 2 years ago.  Hollis is wearing the same outfit Harper was wearing.  They grow so fast!

Friday while everyone was out Black Friday Shopping - we headed to the deer camp to have a cookout.  Harper has been BEGGING for a campfire for months. I'm not even sure how she knows about campfires but she is always building pretend ones in our yard.
So her Pap-pa built her one and we went out there for the day.
It turned out to be a really nice day and we had such a fun time.
There is an old wooden merry go round at the farm and it's my girls favorite thing.  They would ride it for HOURS.  And I kind of love it myself!
We cooked out hot dogs.  Which I'm not a fan but if I can char it until it's black and top it with ketchup - I will eat it.  Harper just decided about a week ago that she likes hot dogs.  Apparently her BFF brings hot dogs to school for lunch a lot and she asked me if she could have some too.
And then we made everyone's favorite - S'MORES!!!!

I might have had two.  It's not every day you get to roast marshmallows!
Scott and his dad spent a lot of time deer hunting while we were there.  The girls really wanted to go with them.  But we girls headed home for baths and Christmas movies instead.

Saturday while the guys hunted - we girls had a little outing.  We went to El Dorado for the day.  We ate lunch at the Flying Burger.  I had the fish tacos there this summer and I've been thinking about them ever since.  They are SO good.  Then we went to see "Frozen."  It is my new favorite Disney movie.  I'm pretty sure every person I have ever known also saw it this weekend.  Harper LOVED it.  (Can you see her smiles in the picture?) Hollis liked about 3 minutes of it.  It's hard to enjoy a movie when you can't sit still more than 3 minutes.  Sigh.  Two year olds.  We still had a wonderful day!

We got home just in time for me to watch the second half of the Auburn/Alabama game. I still haven't recovered.  That was the BEST FOOTBALL GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I know you Bama fans probably don't think so but still - it was two amazing teams.  That game was just all that is great about college football! (We won't discuss the LSU/AR game. Even though it was amazingly closer than I dreamed it could be.)

We headed home this morning and it's good to be home! I'm so excited about December and all the fun things we have planned! This is my favorite month!

I hope your thanksgiving was wonderful!
