First Christmas

We got to Scott's parent's house last night after a crazy drive. Most of Arkansas was flooded and roads were closed all over. Luckily we knew ahead of time so we took a different route. Scott's parents recently changed Scott's childhood bedroom into a room for Harper. Gone is the blue and cowboys posters (ha!) and here are pink walls and princess bedding!
Scott's mom sat in this little chair in Sunday School growing up and so did Scott and she had kept it and had a friend paint it for Harper for her room.

Harper was in awe of her new room! She is so lucky to have a special bed at both of her grandparents houses! I think they want us to visit more often. ha!
After Harper went to bed, "Santa Claus" went to work wrapping gifts and putting them under the tree. I was so excited going to bed last night thinking about Harper unwrapping her gifts. I know she is one and wouldn't really know what is going on but I think I have a lot of visions of future Christmases and how fun they are going to be!
Here is Harper crawling in this morning to see what Santa had left her!
Santa got her this book and I'm hoping one of the words in there is "momma" so maybe she will FINALLY say it! ha!
She didn't quite know what to think but I think she had fun unwrapping her gifts. And we certainly had fun watching her.
At one point - she just sat on her gifts! ha!
She got two more BIG horses! She was pretty excited with this one. I think I need someone to build us a barn since we have wound up with FOUR huge horses. We are leaving one at each grandparents house so she can have a horse everywhere she goes. She really does like "giddying up!"
I guess this little girl must have been pretty good this year!
Santa got her a little mailbox. I figured since I loved mail so much - she would probably love it too! And I was right - she has played with it all day long! We also got her the little teapot and she was real excited but we are saving that in the box for later on.
Harper got in a lot of time with her GiGi
We had a great Christmas lunch of Southern BBQ! It was so good. Tomorrow we are having our actual Christmas dinner with more family.
Harper had a great day but she was pretty worn out this afternoon. She was melting down quick and went to bed really quick!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas too!!!!

We wore those same Christmas Pj's last night as our first Christmas Pj's, too! Bailey was so wiped out by all the excitement that she went to bed really really early tonight as well, holding onto her Bitty Baby, which I thought was sweet! She sleeps with us, which I know, I KNOW...but my husband was like great something else in the bed with us. But last Christmas, we came home from the hospital without her, so we'll take her and the Bitty Baby in the bed with us tonight for a new memory.

So glad ya'll had a great day! Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Thank you so much for sharing these beautiful photos. Harper is such a doll and is lucky to have such wonderful grandparents! I am blessed that my grandparents have a room for me at their house on my way home from college and I enjoy spending weekends with them. I am sure Harper will enjoy doing the same!

What wonderful memories! I smiled all the while reading this moslty because I have a 5 month old and he loved Christmas! It is his first and we know he is young but he still seemed to love it. My husband unwrapped the gifts and he got a cute tigger stuffed toy that carried a blanket and he smiled so big and has been hugging it all day. So sweet! I love to see babies at Christmas. It is so sweet!

I just wanted to tell you that I have an 18 month old, and she has had that book since she was born, and it is her ALL TIME favorite book! It is definitely been her favorite book for the past 6 months especially. It is the one she picks, every time. I have to like briber her to get her to choose something else. Her Daddy and I have it memorized. It is such a good book for learning words though; When she was only like 13 moths, she could point to almost all the pictures when we asked her where they were! Now she can say most of the words :). Just wanted to let you know that Santa made a really good choice!

Looks like she had a wonderful first Christmas! I bought that book for my daughter when she was Harper's age and she LOVED it...now my son is also enjoying it, so much that it finally came apart the other day!

I bought that First Words book for my husband to share the exicting news with him that we were expecting our first child. Olivia is now 2.5 and its still one of her favorite books. She also loves the Fisher Price Tea Pot, but now has to share it with her 10m old sister Avery. It looks like you had a wonderful first Christmas with your Sweet Harper, it only gets better from her. I too was so excited thinking about the girls opening their presents and dreaming about the years to come.

Just wanted to stop by and tell you that last night we discovered that our next door neighbors had gotten a Bichon Frise for Christmas! They found him at the local animal shelter, can you believe?!?! We drove up and he was outside having a potty break, so I got to snuggle with him. SO CUTE!!! Now I see why you are so enamored with Dawson! :)

So exciting! I have missed all of my niece's 3 Christmases (she was born 11/29/07), but thankfully have seen her open presents 2 times...so fun! She "helped" everyone open their gifts also! :)

My friends' little girl has and loved the mailbox and it's getting ready to be loved by her baby sister now! :)

So glad you had a great 1st Christmas and that you were safe. Have a great rest of the weekend!

Harper is so adorable! I know what you mean about Christmas's future. My Luca is 2.5 this year. He totally got into the unwrapping of the presents. He wouldn't let Nico (8 yo) help him at all.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

She is such a cutie, Kelly! Glad you had a Merry Christmas!! Christmas is so much better with little ones isn't it?!

Love her photo with her grandparents!! Priceless!
Guess..that's because I'm a grandma and love photos of my grandbabies. My daughter's son Mason who is one doesn't say MAMA either...we are hoping anyday...he happened to say SANTA recently though...little stinker!!

Your Harper sure is getting cuter everyday! You are blessed!! Connie
