Quarantined

I tried to stay away from Harper but I still knew it would probably happen. We wound up at the ER yesterday morning to be told Harper had the flu also (regular flu or swine flu - who knows at this point what we have?) She was up all night Saturday night and then had a fever Saturday morning. I could just tell in her eyes that she didn't feel good. I'm so glad we went because we were the ONLY ones in the ER so we got right in and out. Poor baby.

The good news is that she woke up this morning back to her old self - smiling with no fever. So I think the worst is behind us. We both are going to stay home and inside until at least Thursday to make sure we don't spread our germs and to make sure we are good and healthy. We are hanging out in our pj's.
But we are moving along just as usual!
In other news - my guest bedroom bed cover needed to be replaced desperately so I have had my eyes open. I wanted something to match the gold curtains and the black furniture but that would warm up the room. And I found this on clearance at T J Maxx last week.
I really like it! I think it looks much better, don't you?

I am going to have a great giveaway on here later today or tomorrow so check back. If you like to have a clean house (I started to say if you like to clean - but who does?) - or if you have kids and pets that make a lot of messes - I have something that might help! I'll have it up soon so be on the lookout! So exciting!

Stay Healthy! :-)

The guest room looks great! Our spare bedroom in our apartment has turned into a room with my desk, the printer, bookcases and now the pack and play! It's the room we put everything without a place into. I can't wait to have a home someday so I can decorate too :)

What a difference a new comforter can make. The room looks great. I'm not sure if you have received your flu shot yet, but you will need to know which flu you guys had so you don't have to get that flu shot. Which is great if you had strain A (aka swine flu). I'm glad you both are feeling better. I've been reading your blog for awhile, but this is my first comment. Thanks

Glad you're both feeling better! My daughter and I both had the flu (probably H1N1 according to her doctor at the time) a couple months ago. They told me the very best thing I could do was just continue to nurse her as often as she wanted to, because I was sick first, so my milk had the antibodies in it. Isn't that amazing and cool???
Of course, it's impossible not to breathe on your child:), so she got sick but nowhere near as sick as I got, and I'm certain the antibodies in the breastmilk are why.
What a cool thing God designed:)
My husband and I were both SO sick the week after she was born...she didn't get a thing. Good old breastmilk again.
I'm so glad that Harper and you are feeling better! I know you weaned her just recently...not trying to say anything about that. Just sharing how excited I was that breastmilk helped my baby:)
The guestroom looks great!

Hi, Kelly - I'm glad that you and little Harper are getting over the flu - my whole crew of 3 kids plus the two of us had the swine flu last month. I was pleasantly surprised that my little girl (7 mo) only had a high fever for one day, and just low grade with runny nose for the rest of the time. It wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be. Your bedding looks beautiful - I love TJ Maxx (I was just there last night with Sonic Diet Vanilla Coke no ice in hand - my favorite drink too!). Hope you guys are totally 100% by the time your trip rolls around!
