First of all - I was SO happy today because Harper had a great day in the nursery!! You have no idea how hard I have prayed today and it was so nice to go check on her twice and neither time was she crying or screaming. I'm so thankful for her sweet nursery workers who love on her! My parents were here today and got to go to church with us and see her in the nursery! And we went to lunch and she was so happy and did so good. OH it was just a great day!

My dad got home from India last night and we were so glad to have him home safe and sound. Tomorrow is his birthday and today is Grandparents day so we were glad to spend time with them! Harper is so blessed to have four wonderful grandparents in her life!
We were playing with her in her room and she started pulling up on me!!! She is just changing and growing so quickly these days!

I told ya'll yesterday about my "faith" dress and then I found out something SO amazing about it and I just have to share because I want to show you how God is at work even when you don't know it and feel like your prayers are not being answered.
But first I feel like I should share that YES - I love having a girl but I used to DREAM of having three boys. I would have been over the moon if we had had a boy. I don't want anyone to think I would have been unhappy with a boy. I dreamed of a boy playing football and I still secretly wish for a boy if we have another child. There is nothing sweeter than a little boy. It's just that I just always had this feeling I would have a daughter. I can't explain it but I just knew.
Anyway..........I think this is unbelievable. When I shared the story of the dress yesterday - the lady who I bought it from off of etsy left me a comment and then she e-mailed me to share something with me and it just gave me chills and made me cry. She has been reading my blog since Harper was born but had no idea she had one time made a dress for her until she saw it yesterday. And she remembered it because when she made it - she felt like God asked her to pray over the dress and to pray for the little girl who would be wearing it. She had no idea that at the the time there WAS no little girl yet or that the little girl would really need prayers at one point. See how God goes ahead and works in such amazing ways???

HE LOVES US - OH HOW HE LOVES US!

And finally - look who is starting to crawl!!!! When did she get so big???

So this is my 1000th post!!! WOW - that is a whole lot of rambling from me. So in honor of my 1000th post - I was wondering if you read my blog - I would love to hear from ALL of you - even the lurkers who have never commented - and I would love to hear one thing you are thankful for today! It would be great to start off this week with a LONG list of uplifting praises and I would love to hear from EVERYONE who is reading!!! Ya'll hear from me every day - now I'd like to hear from you!!!!

I am a long time reader and a first time commenter. Many of my friends and I love to read your blog and be encouraged and uplifted by your faith and transparency. It is amazing how God is using the blogging world to show His amazing love!

Today, I am thankful for my two sweet little boys. Sundays are so special to me, because our family spends the whole day together and with our church family as well. We are so blessed to have many friends at church that we love so much.

Give Harper an extra hug for me! I love to hug on little girls since I do not have one of my very own.

Hi! I still read. I have made a comment every now and then, but I check often. I love the dress and have decided that you should name your next daughter Henley Bennett. I think that goes super cute with Harper Brown and she could wear all her big sister's cute monograms!

I am so thankful for my husband today! He just got back home, he was out of town for the last four days and it was just me and my son. I have to say that I don't know how single parents do it, cause it just wore me out! But now I am even more thankful for my husband!

Yay for a good day in the nursery! My little girl didn't have such a great one today :(
That being said, my baby girl is what I am soo thankful for. Before she went to bed tonight I was praying, "Father, thank you so much for this little girl in my arms." Just as those words were escaping my lips, she looked up at me and gave me a big open-mouthed kiss. My eyes were not dry, but my heart was full!

Hey Kelly~ I am thankful today for my family.....love them all so much! I am also thankful for the world of blogs. Since this whole economic downturn we have been struggling financially. But with the blogs I've learned so much about couponing that I am saving a ton of money on food thru couponing. Because of that I've been able to donate food and toiletries to the homeless, pet shelters, etc. I've also been able to keep our pantry full! I also love to share my 'deals' with my friends local and watch them stockpile their pantries as well!

I've been reading since Harper was in the hospital. I like your down to earth style - you seem like the girl next door. Plus, my sister lives in Fayettville, so it is like a little bit of a connection to her corner of the world.

I had a really tough baby this last year, and to be honest, it did my heart some good to read about your first six months with Harper. Sometimes I felt so alone and nobody understood how my baby could be so fussy. Nice to know I wasn't the only one! :)

I thought you (and Big Mama) would be proud that when it comes to baby girl fashion/accessories...Harper sets the trends!!...my husbands right...we could so be friends, because let's be honest...obnoxious bows DO make everything better!!! :)

Oh Kelly I have many blessings, but I am thankful for your blogging ministry (yes, it truly is). You have reminded me how much a precious baby girl is truly a BLESSING from God! You see, after being diagnosed with blocked tubes 11 years earlier, I found myself pregnant at age 42. My youngest daughter had just started high school and I am a grandmother myself. It took awhile to get over the shock, and I must confess I wasn't exactly over the moon with the news. I know you can't imagine, but it was a very hard time. All the tears I cried when I found out the news seemed unimaginable once I held my precious baby girl. I know God put her here for a specific purpose and couldn't be happier now. I am also thankful you turned me on to Sonic vanilla diet cokes........oh my! I don't live very close though. Got me some Torani sugar-free syrup and coke zero and made my own vanilla diet coke today. Yum! Blessings!

I honestly have had a rough day, and was in the middle of a pity party. But I don't need that - it doesn't help anything, does it? I'm so inspired by the story of Harper's "Faith Dress," and it's helped me refocus a bit.

I'm thankful that my parents, although they've just moved from our home state of Texas all the way to Canada, are still so available to me and still feel close, thanks to emails and Skype and all sorts of great things like that. I'm a 26-year-old adult and should be able to handle it, but there's been times that it's been hard, especially during times like today when a quick visit would have picked me up. I still am surrounded by friends and family and we are blessed with health and prosperity.

Thanks for the shift in perspective! And this little corner for me to unload on!

Even though he was able to go back to work in 2 months the time to full recovery has been almost 2 years. I am so very thankful for his recovery and for the wonderful husband that he is.

I always thought I would have only boys because my husband comes from a family of 4 boys, but when I got pregnant, I just knew it was a girl from the beginning! :) And everyday when I get to dress her, I love that I have a girl! :)

I love reading your blog! I was reading Saturday's blog and you posted Hebrews 11:1, which is a verse I have been standing on as we are waiting to be blessed with our second child. God alone only knows when this event will take place. Meanwhile, I am ever so thankful for our almost three year old little girl, who melts my heart everyday, whether, she works a new puzzle by herself or says something that is just off the wall crazy. God is defintely using you and I pray that you continue to be an open vessel. God Bless!!

I've been reading your blog about a year before you had Harper. You are so real and I feel like you're one of my girlfriends sittin' on the couch talking with me! I've cried so many tears of sorrow and praise with you! You're just a doll! And a blessing to many. What am I thankful for today? Of course my God and family. I add to that, being thankful for my son not having a seizure in a week. These are daily struggles for my Special needs son.
Thank you for sharing your precious life with all of us!

I have been one of the lurkers who has just never left a comment! My husband always asks me if I saw you randomly somewhere would I talk to you...and my response is always absolutely! So why I've never left a comment...I don't know!

Today I'm grateful for my husband and family! We are celebrating our one year anniversary today! And believe me I was a person who never in a million years thought I would find someone to marry! God's timing is powerful! Today is also a bittersweet day for my husband and I as his granddad passed away today. He was one of the most Godly men I've met and knowing that we are celebrating our marriage and his granddad's life brings all kinds of emotions, joy, and tears!

I do LOVE reading your blog and just appreciate your "realness!"

Kelly,

I just wanted to thank you for prompting me to pray for someone in need on your prayer blog. I have chosen others from your blog in the past. I have been praying for a woman who just died from colon cancer, Kim, and for Kate McRae. After your prompting (on the last entry) God lead me to pray for Whitney. She is a 22 yr old that was in a coma after a car crash. Anyway, I was pleased to know that she is from IN too!

Your blog (and your dad's)helps me to be a better Christian. I appreciate the time that put into your entries and look forward to reading them everyday.

One other thing, you have encouraged me to blog! I am so happy to be taking pictures and adding them right away to a "scrapbook" of sorts.

I was lead to your blog, through my friend Tina, to pray for Harper and was hooked! I love watching her grow:)

Bless you for showing such Christian love and compassion daily,

Holly

Harper is just darling and I LOVE that story. I am thankful for the wonderful sermon at our church this morning. The priest spoke about how having faith alone is not enough that faith without works is not enough. We cannot just pray for others or offer kind words...we need to DO for others. We need to show that we are Christians by our love. it was a good reminder to give more to those around me.

I'm Candise from Idaho; a LONG time reader...from pre-Harper days! My blog is private because of some adoption legal troubles, but I just know we would be great friends!

Last week, after a three year legal battle we were able to finalize our adoption. I have never felt so happy; or so grateful to God for the blessing of being a mother. I can't wait for another little angel to join our family!

Uh oh! Feeling convicted here because I haven't had a very thankful spirit lately. So, thanks for the reminder.

I am thankful for my 8-month old daughter who is beating the odds of infantile spasms by remaining seizure-free for 11 weeks and counting! She really is a miracle! And I'm thankful for so much support from family and friends through it all.

Hi Kelly,
My name's Yvonne, don't think I've commented before. Today I am thankful for health. Health of my kiddos, health of my husband and I. I am thankful for a God who listens to us and loves us unwaveringly. I am thankful for warm weather and family gatherings outside. Yay for Harper crawling!

Hey Kelly I also have been reading your blog since Harper was born. I am very thankful that even though my husband and I have struggled with infertility. That God has blessed us with the heart to foster/adopt children.
