First of all - I was SO happy today because Harper had a great day in the nursery!! You have no idea how hard I have prayed today and it was so nice to go check on her twice and neither time was she crying or screaming. I'm so thankful for her sweet nursery workers who love on her! My parents were here today and got to go to church with us and see her in the nursery! And we went to lunch and she was so happy and did so good. OH it was just a great day!

My dad got home from India last night and we were so glad to have him home safe and sound. Tomorrow is his birthday and today is Grandparents day so we were glad to spend time with them! Harper is so blessed to have four wonderful grandparents in her life!
We were playing with her in her room and she started pulling up on me!!! She is just changing and growing so quickly these days!

I told ya'll yesterday about my "faith" dress and then I found out something SO amazing about it and I just have to share because I want to show you how God is at work even when you don't know it and feel like your prayers are not being answered.
But first I feel like I should share that YES - I love having a girl but I used to DREAM of having three boys. I would have been over the moon if we had had a boy. I don't want anyone to think I would have been unhappy with a boy. I dreamed of a boy playing football and I still secretly wish for a boy if we have another child. There is nothing sweeter than a little boy. It's just that I just always had this feeling I would have a daughter. I can't explain it but I just knew.
Anyway..........I think this is unbelievable. When I shared the story of the dress yesterday - the lady who I bought it from off of etsy left me a comment and then she e-mailed me to share something with me and it just gave me chills and made me cry. She has been reading my blog since Harper was born but had no idea she had one time made a dress for her until she saw it yesterday. And she remembered it because when she made it - she felt like God asked her to pray over the dress and to pray for the little girl who would be wearing it. She had no idea that at the the time there WAS no little girl yet or that the little girl would really need prayers at one point. See how God goes ahead and works in such amazing ways???

HE LOVES US - OH HOW HE LOVES US!

And finally - look who is starting to crawl!!!! When did she get so big???

So this is my 1000th post!!! WOW - that is a whole lot of rambling from me. So in honor of my 1000th post - I was wondering if you read my blog - I would love to hear from ALL of you - even the lurkers who have never commented - and I would love to hear one thing you are thankful for today! It would be great to start off this week with a LONG list of uplifting praises and I would love to hear from EVERYONE who is reading!!! Ya'll hear from me every day - now I'd like to hear from you!!!!

I have been reading your blog from Alabama since you had Harper. My husband and kids kept asking me "Why are you crying?" I told them about sweet Harper and we prayed for her often. My 8 yr old even still asks how she is doing. I am thankful for a Christian husband, wonderful church family, healthy children and an AWESOME GOD that loves us! Love the dress story!! It is amazing when you see how God works long before we even see the results. He is truly amazing!

Kelly, I dont have a blog, but I am thankful that i can read yours. Your faith inspires me. I have one daughter of my own-she is 18 years old and has been the light and joy of my life and still is. Harper is so beautiful. I have so many things to be thankful for, but the best is that God STILL hears and answers prayers, just look at your beautiful family.

I am thankful for so many things, I'm not really sure where to start. I guess since I haven't found my Prince Charming it would have to be my parents. They are amazing and truly show how to love unconditionally. I have been reading your blog before you told everyone you were pregnant with Harper and have learned and grown so much spiritually. Thank you for that!

Hi Kelly! I guess I would be one of those lurkers you spoke of! Ha! I have been reading your blog since Harper was born. Several of us from First Baptist Broken Arrow were praying for Harper when she was in the hospital and a couple of my friends went to see you. I am also friends with Allison (the girl that made Harper's cute chair)! Small world! Your blog inspires me so much! Thanks for being such an encouragment to everyone!

Today I'm thankful for the awesome song service and sermon we had today (two girls from Point of Grace (or used to be with P.O.G.) led the worship--Terri, who is part of our regular vocal team, and Heather who was visiting today!) It was such a blessing. The the sermon, "Casual or Captivated"-referring to our relationship with Christ--was one I REALLY needed to hear. I'm thankful for a loving Father who speaks to our hearts and desires to give us a joyful life in Him! I'm also thankful that He has entrusted three beautiful children to me that I can teach about Him--what a joy that is!

I only recently discovered your blog, and I have to say that it is such a positive and uplifiting one to read. So, I want you to know that I am thankful for you and your words. My husband and I have been married for almost a year and are trying to have a baby. I know we haven't been trying as long as many others out there, but I can't help but get discouraged. I can only think that that is Satan having his way with my mind. Anyway, your story is uplifting to me, and it gives me hope in our future. Thank you for sharing and may God continue to bless you and your family!

Well, I am one of those "lurkers" who read your post but never comment. I guess I just feel strange about it because I have no idea who you are - but came across your blog through another blog I read shortly after your daughter was born. I "check up" on you several times a week and have to laugh at how similar your feelings and experinces of being a first time mother are to mine when I first was one. I am a mommy to three children - a boy who is almost 3, a girl who just turned 1, and one due in January. And that is what I am thankful for. The precious children the Lord has blessed me with as well as a wonderful, godly husband. Who could ask for more? Well, I enjoy reading your blog and can't believe I am actually leaving you a comment. I don't even know if you will read it since you get SO many comments, but keep on blogging! I have a blog myself, but with being a pastor's wife, and an expectant SAHM to two very active kids, I don't have time to blog every day!

I am so thankful for God's faithfulness. We are in the middle of Missions Convention and tonight was awesome. My husband and I have been called to the mission field (just not sure where). Well, lately I have been very discouraged b/c I don't know when we will be going or what. Well tonight the missionary's message spoke directly to me and confirmed that in God's timing we will go! I almost didn't go tonight b/c I had been in a horrible mood. Thankfully I went and now feel so encourged!

I have enjoyed your blog since Harper was born and love your honesty and realness. I have a sister who is not married yet (at 31) and is discouraged. Your advice and counsel and encouragement has allowed me to get a glimpse of what she's been feeling. Thank you for sharing all of it.

Congratulations on 1000! What an accomplishment!

i found your blog right after harper was born... i have a 9 month old daughter named hadley, and as i read your story about harper's birth i would hold my baby a little tighter, and give her even more kisses. it really amazes me how blogs can make our world feel a little smaller and more personal.

i am so thankful for my 3 children, and my most amazing husband.

Love reading your blog! Your Harper is such a doll and her smile always brings a smile to my face. How I can't wait for more smiles and cooing as the days go on.

When I was pregnant with Rachel, my first, I wanted a little girl SOOOO bad but I just knew it was a boy. I even called my belly Baby Sam for a long time (for Samuel if it was a boy). Then, my doctor told me it was a girl and I cried and cried and cried!!! I was SO excited! Then, with my 2nd one, I said from the beginning that I really wanted a boy but having 2 girls would be neat because I always wanted a sister to share things with and never had one. I will tell you that it surprised me that I was disappointed when they told me it was another girl. I felt bad for being disappointed. I would not trade my two girls for ANYTHING in the world. No one can make Lauren smile like Rachel. I am thankful for my beautiful, healthy children!!

Here from Alabama and I read your blog daily. I am thankful for my family- my husband, daughter and son. I can tell you first hand that God is always faithful. My first husband passed away at the age of 36 unexpectedly, so I was left along to raise a 5yr old daughter. I met my husband now several years later and after three miscarriages have a happy and healthy little boy and and almost 13 yr old daughter - really I have a new life.

I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I FOUND YOUR BLOG,BUT HARPER WAS IN THE HOSPITAL AT THE TIME. MY HEART HURT FOR YOU BECAUSE THE TWINS WERE PRE-MATURE AND SPENT ALMOST THREE MONTHS IN THE NICU,BUT MY LITTLE ONE HAD LIVER PROBLEMS AND WE WERE TOLD ALL KINDS OF THINGS THAT THEY THOUGHT IT WAS AND HE WENT THROUGH SO MANY TESTS AND BIOPSIES. THANK GOD HE IS A HEALTHY LITTLE BOY NOW WITH NO MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND I GIVE ALL THE GLORY TO OUR GOD!! IT WAS AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER AND WHEN I SEE ANOTHER MOTHER GOING THROUGH THE SAME THINGS IT BREAKS MY HEART EVEN IF I DONT KNOW THEM OR EVER WILL. SO OF COURSE I PRAYED FOR THAT SWEET GIRL AND LOVE TO SEE HER HEALTHY AND LOOKING PRETTY IN ALL THOSE GIRLY CLOTHES NOW:)! SO, TODAY AND EVERYDAY I AM THANKFUL FOR ANSWERED PRAYERS!

I've been a reader since Harper was born and have left a few comments here and there :)

I am thankful for so many things and God is pointing out new things to be thankful for each day. For one, I am extremely grateful that both of my little boys (17 months and 3) are very healty. They've never had more than just a cold or a cough. I know I am extremely lucky and need to count my blessings more often.

The other thing I'm really thankful for is my parents opening their home to my husband, kids and self while we save up money to buy our own home. Its not always easy with so many people under the same roof but they are hanging in there and making us feel welcome nonetheless!

Our journey has been full of unexpected twists & turns, but without those bumps in the road, we wouldn't be clingning to the Lord & seeing Him be glorified. So I'm thankful for the tough times almost more than the easy times.

By the way, the story about Harper's dress is amazing! Isn't it funny how the Lord works? If only we could always find out all of the things He's doing behind the scenes for us!

Thank you for your blog also! It is always so nice to check in on you even though we have never met. I have struggled in taking the "next step" in my faith and tonight I signed up for a small group Bible study for the first time. I had mentioned to a friend that I wish there was a group for the moms at our church (there are a LOT of new moms there this year) and at the fall kick-off party tonight the pastor's wife (also a new mother this year) came running over to tell me to make sure that I signed up for the mom's group if it fit my schedule. It did and I am excited about this next step :)

I really feel that reading your blog has helped inspire me to take this next step and I thank you for that!

For several years (dateless years) I prayed and prayed for the perfect husband, but was fearful that I would never have him in my life. Well as you know, God does wonderful things in His time and he gave me the most amazing husband. We have been married for 6 1/2 years and at this time have no children...but our life is SO FULL. Being married to John brings me pure bliss, happiness and joy. Our life is incredible - my cup runeth over! Not only did God give me what I prayed for in a husband, he gave me even more than I imagined. To God be the glory for the great things He has done...and for all the praises we have!

I love that story about the dress Kelly! God is awesome! I comment from time to time on your blog and I really love reading about your life! I am so incredibly thankful for the 3 miracles that are my children. There was a time I didn't know if I would ever be a mom...so not a day goes by that I am truly amazed that I get to mother 3 kids (even on the hardest of hard days)!

I have been reading your blog for several months now, but this is my first comment. I have a little boy a month younger than Harper and love hearing what is in store in the upcoming months for him! I am so very thankful for such an inspirational source of encouragement from you and all your readers.

I've been reading your blog for almost 1 yr now!

That is such a cool story about the dress from Etsy.

I'm thankful for so much. Besides the obvious (Jesus, health, family). I'm thankful for my wonderful husband and that we are so happy together.

Love your blog and have been reading for quite some time although I think I've only commented once...???
Today, I'm thankful for my 2 precious girls, Emma Liz and Hannah Sue, which God allowed me to conceive so easily. It is good to be reminded that something we have and not think twice about (fertility) another person prays for and longs for with all their heart. I am so blessed; thank you for the reminder!

I absolutely love reading your blog. Harper is such a doll baby. I have been reading since she was born, and it is such a blessing to see the work God has done within her and your family. Today I am so thankful for my husband and my 6 week old baby boy. God is great!

I have been reading since Harper was first born and in the hospital. You always have such wonderful things to share so I keep coming back for more :) Today I am thankful for my health. We recently lost a friend to cancer at 28 and I just can't get her off my mind. We know she is with the Father and is pain free - but I know her family misses her smiling face! I tend to forget to be thankful for the day to day things, like being healthy. God bless!

I am so thankful for my sweet baby girl, my wonderful husband, family, those serving our country in the military and most of all for my relationship with Jesus! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Harper's bows! I have my daughter in a bow almost everyday and usually get a lot of negative comments about it!

I really feel like I have so much to be thankful for: my health, my family, friends, a place to live, food to eat, an education. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

I am mostly a lurker on your blog, however I once sent you a prayer request & God provided!!
I am so thankful for my family, especially my husband & my beautiful newborn son.
As well as for the answered prayer in my heart of meing invited to join a local MOPS group, I needed a faith connection.

I have a husband who loves our baby girl and me and makes me laugh every day. I have a 4mo old baby girl who was born healthy despite having the cord wrapped around her neck 3 times so tightly it took 2 people to free her from it. My husband and I have good jobs, and are surrounded by our families, who are all healthy. I have the love of a Savior when I've done nothing to deserve it. I am SO blessed.

I love reading your blog, feel I can relate well to you! Harper is adorable and I love to see how you prayed for a baby so long and the way the Lord blessed you and Scott. How neat that you have a sweet outfit that reminds you of your prayers and hopes when there seemed to be no answer. The Lord is amazing how he works in our lives. Currently I think I am living out one of my dreams I have prayed so long for. Also I got in my "Ashley" dress from Tru colors and it is adorable. Cannot wait to wear it in Aggieland this weekend. Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Ashley in Texas
