Spring Break

It's a rainy, gloomy Monday here. Boo! Yesterday was warm and sunny but a little windy so we went on a family walk! Is Harper styling in her little hat or what?
We have discovered what all parents have found out before us. The greatest invention in all the world is .......Baby Enstien Videos. When Harper is screaming her head off - she will instantly calm down and coo if we turn one on. Of course I'm more partial to the Praise Baby videos so we have those also. They play Christian music instead of the classics. Here is Harper watching one yesterday. She's not into a pacifier - but she kind of likes having a little "softie" to hold and suck on. I'm okay with that.

Last night was a big night for us - we moved Harper's sleeping arrangements. She has been sleeping in her bouncy seat at night because that is the only place she would sleep. She refused to lay flat. But I decided last night she HAD to move to her pack and play because she is practically hanging off the bouncy seat (already). I was very afraid. But she did GREAT! I didn't sleep at all because I kept checking her (the pack & play is right next to my side of the bed). She was all stretched out - I think she probably felt great. She slept really good! Yeay - progress!
When my parents came this weekend, they brought a gift from a lady in my hometown. She made me this diaper bag and this precious pink and brown razorback quilt! How cute is that for a sweet girly hog fan???? Thanks Mrs. Sharon!!!!
Do ya'll know about Matilda Jane? I've been a big fan - the clothes are cute and funky and different and girly! I nearly fell over when I got a package from the sweet lady behind the company who wrote me the sweetest note and sent both Harper and I some clothes from her line. You MUST go check them out! It makes me want to be a little girl again!

So it's spring break here which means absolutely nothing to my life but it always is a symbol that summer is around the corner. I know we are all having crazy weather. Some of you have snow - we are having thunderstorms (yuck). I also know that people who read this blog are from all over so I'm wondering today .........WHERE ARE YOU FROM and WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE???? Aren't you curious about life in different states/countries? I am.
(Just reading the first 100 comments and you make your homes sound so great - can I come visit all of you????? Especially if you are in Seattle, England, and AUSTRALIA!!!!)(any readers in hawaii??? hee!)

Keep praying for Stellan and all the others on my links to the left. Love you!

I forgot to post here yesterday. :)

Well, I'm another Southern girl named Kelly. I grew up in rural Southwest Georgia, but moved to the Atlanta area in 1998. I met my husband here although he is from Michigan. I always say that Divine Intervention brought us together. :) I have lived in Georgia all but two years of my life. We moved to Southeast Alabama in 2004 and lived there until 2006 before returning to metro Atlanta. Georgia is home and I love it!

Some of my favorite things about our area are:

We are close to the mountains. Beautiful!

We have annual passes to Zoo Atlanta, so we can go out there any time we want and let our girls (Macey, age 5 and Mariana, age 2) play, see the animals, etc.

Spring here is amazing. So pretty!

Summer is hot, but we're 5 houses down from the pool. NICE!

Some GOOOOOD Southern eating can be found here. I miss the quaint "meat and three" places we had back home and even in AL, but we do have some good eatin' here. Especially BBQ.

Our church here is just amazing. It's big and I never thought I'd belong to a big church, but God showed me my place in our church. I absolutely love it and it's home.

Georgia has great sports teams - UGA DAWGS (Sorry, Miss Harper aka Future Razorback), Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons. Also lots of attractions and fun to be had.

Come on down to the Atlanta area some time. Lots to do and I guarantee y'all would love it!

I am originally from east Tennessee, yes, I am a VOL!!! I grew up an hour from Knoxville and love the four distinct seasons. I love the small town feel of my hometown, Athens. I am now an Army wife and live at Fort Campbell, KY. Still trying to figure out this place.

Hey! I have been a lurker on your blog for months and am glad to see that your precious baby girl is healthy and doing great. She is adorable!

I live in Georgia. And I would have to say the best thing about living here is Bulldog football and the good ole home cooked southern food. =)

Hi Kelly! I am from Tulsa, OK. :-) I have to be honest, I am not a real big fan of where I live. We moved here because of my dh's job and I wasn't in favor of the move. It was very hard on me and stressful on our marriage. In April we have been here for 5 years. I still tell people "we just moved here." haha
I am getting better, meeting more people, actually calling them "friend" and getting to know more. I don't handle change well and unfortunately this was in that category.
Also in the unfortunate is that we've had so much change since moving here, life has been so full of stress.
One thing I will say I like about where I live is the freedom of homeschooling.

Kelly, I live in south central North Dakota...aka smack dab in the middle of nowhere. It is never a place I dreamed of living but now it is our dream come true. My husband jumped off the corporate wheel and we moved to his hometown two years ago where he runs his family business. I was able to keep my job and work from home, traveling as needed. It is a simple life. No traffic, very low cost of living, small but good school, kind and geniune people, big beautiful sky and my favorite part is the peacefulness. We have two kids and are expecting # 3 in July. I love following your blog.
God Bless...

Funny, my son liked elmo and started liking baby einstein when he was 5:) He also would only sleep in a bouncy seat.

I love that diaper bag and quilt, they are so pretty.

I'm a Florida girl, and I love it because of the sunshine, beaches and all the greenery.

Kelly, I am from the Seattle area. I LOVE that it is not too hot here and there are a ton of outdoorsy things to do anytime of the year. Oh and you are welcome to visit anytime! I'd recommend August or September though, it's the prettiest.

I am from Eastern North Carolina! The thing I love about my location is the FOOD. We love our fried foods here. LOVE BBQ...and we have a few AWESOME places to eat. Mainly Pizza Villa, El Norteno and a little Chinese buffet place {can't remember the name right now!!} that are awesome!!! Pizza crackers....enchiladas....and pepper chicken all within about 5 minutes of each other. Plus, we have a lot of newer things for kids to do around here. In the summer months the city runs this place called Pepsi Splash Park {they use water...not Pepsi...ha} Lots of different water "sprinklers....and such." Less than a big water park but bigger than a sprinkler in your backyard. And, it's only a buck to play {as long as you want}. Lots more stuff. But, anywho. We are a small town that is due to move up in the coming years. Come anytime!!!

I live in Lombard, IL - which is the official Lilac Town. My favorite thing about Lombard is the beautiful Lilacia Park - which has hundreds of varieties of lilacs - in all shades of purples, lavenders, whites and pinks! If you google Lombard, IL and go to our Village of Lombard website, or the park district website or even the Lombard Chamber website (I'm the Exec Dir. there) you will see what I mean about all the Lilacs! We celebrate Lilac Time from May 1 - 17th with many events, such as a huge outdoor craft fair (that I run) as well as our own Lilac Ball (this is our 5oth year!) where we honor the Lilac Queen and her Court (they each get a scholarship, among other things!) Lilac Time culminates with our huge Lilac (what else!) Parade! Someday you should come to Lombard during this beautiful time!

I live in a small town in south central Pennsylvania! I didn't grow up in a small town so I love living in a small town now. Right before Thanksgiving we have a tree lighting ceremony in the town square and the whole town gathers and sings Christmas carols and drinks hot chocolate and eats popcorn and it's so quaint! But the BEST thing about where I live are the mountains. Our home is nestled in a valley between two ridges of mountains. It's beautiful everywhere you look!

I am originally from San Antonio, TX, moved to New Braunfels (between San Antonio & Austin) & after marrying my husband, moved to Austin area. We have lived in the Houston area 12 years now--wow! Anyway, the weather here is mild as far as the winters go and the summers get rather warm--lots of humidity!! Houston has a lot to offer and so many places to visit, i.e. NASA, Houston Museuem of Natural Sciences, The Aquarium, Theater District, Houston Astros, etc. In other words, always something to do, somewhere to go.

Will keep Stellan in thoughts & prayers! Harper is just getting more and more precious each day, Kelly!

Hi Kelly, I live in NH. I love how close we live to the mountains and the ocean, yet we're not too far from big cities like Boston (although I have to admit it's been years and years since I've been there!) Yes, the winters are very cold and long here (we joke that we have winter from Oct-April here - we live in central NH so the snow stays around longer than southern parts.) But it truly is beautiful & I love living here.

AND it doesn't take us long to drive to Cali and visit (w/o having to live there...no offense;)) or seattle, WA.

But I definitely would love to travel all over this country visiting all these different places! I also have family near Searcy, Arkansas and I LOVE their accents :)

LOL I grew up in Little Rock and loved that you could be on the lake in 45 minutes either north or south of town. And we're pretty big fans of Bentonville too. I'm from "AUSTRALIA!!!!"

I live in Sydney, but not in the city, in the Western suburbs about an hour from the city.

I live at the foot of the Blue Mountains (yes they are really blue when you look at them in the distance)... I don't know if they are really famous overseas but everyone in Sydney knows about the Blue Mountains! Tourists pay money to have guided tours, which I think is so funny because I've lived here all my life!

I live in a suburb called Penrith, and our claim to fame is that the Regatta Centre & Whitewater Stadium they used in the Sydney 2000 Olympics are in our town! Oh, and also, the first Krispy Kreme in the southern hemisphere was built in Penrith.

Our town was once much smaller but has grown and we now have a variety of places to eat and shop - thank goodness! We still have Main Street parades for the high school and 4th of July. I love Georgia in general (lived her all my life) because we get to experience all the seasons. This year we actually got a good snow for the first time in a long time, but every season is beautiful. We also have the Georgia Mountains in north GA and beaches in southern Georgia. And then, of course, there is Atlanta which is a melting pot of everything and everyone.

Guess who that friend was...YOU! I looked at Dusti and said, "Are you talking about Kelly's Blog?" She just giggled because she knows I'm addicted! You also must know Leigh Ann. Beth Ann, her best friend from high school, is also one of my new awesome friends.
