Thanksgiving with the Martins

Scott and I headed over to Flippin (my home town) last night after work. We got here around 9. I got to open this gift from my friends Jamie, Micaela and their mom. This was one of the things Scott and I just loved - the little monkey activity gym (for our monkey).
It was fun to be home - especially when we all laid on my parents bed (even Dawson) and watched Harper kicking me. You could see her foot kicking out my stomach. That was about the best entertainment we have had in a while.

These are my parents - aren't they cute? Almost 38 years of marriage!
This is my dad's workshop - where all the magic happens. ha! This is where he is making Harper's changing table/dresser. I'm so excited about it - it is going to be so cute. I had almost forgot what I had sent him as a request to make and was happy to see it was better than I remembered!
We eat our thanksgiving meal at lunch (and again for dinner!) Here is my dad carving the turkey (with help from a little begging turkey. ha!) My mom made such a great meal - turkey, cornbread dressing, potato casserole, green beans, salad, rolls, cranberries, apple pie and the best pumpkin pie cake that I will have to give you the recipe. I don't even like pumpkin pie and I was gulping it up!!!!
Scott and I did some posing this afternoon to try and get a family Christmas picture for our card. I can't wait until next year when we can have a little cutie in a Christmas dress for our card!

This is my mom and my aunt Linda (sisters!) We took a walk after lunch up to my dad's shop.
My aunt Linda gave me an early birthday present - it is so cute!! A buddha bag - in python!!! I love it! I have wanted a new purse for a long time and this is VERY me! I have to start carrying it immediately before I have to add a diaper bag to my shoulder as well!
We are all sitting around watching the Cowboys play now and just waiting until we can feast again. I hope ya'll have had a great thanksgiving!
How many of you are getting up early to shop Black Friday? I have never ONCE been shopping on the day after thanksgiving. I'm going to try and keep that tradition alive and well!

Loving the new purse -- looks as though you could still use it when Harper comes, big enough to throw a few things in for a quick trip somewhere! Also the photo of Scott, Dawson, and you is magazine cover worthy!

On this Thanksgiving I am thankful for coming across your blog. For your openess, your realness, your authentic self, your gift of prayer for those in waiting. You touch so many lives each day Kelly. Thank You!

That purse is awesome, and so big you can just skip the diaper bag for shorter errands! I love it!

This sounds like a great Thanksgiving! I can't WAIT to see the furniture your Dad is making for the nursery--that's going to be so special to you (and to her!). And the purse from your Aunt is super cute. I've been meaning to buy a new purse for months now.

Oh, and no way am I going shopping tomorrow!! That craziness is not for me!

Your picture for your Christmas card is precious!
I don't go to the crazy-blitz shopping either. I am too nervous and would worry that people are mad at me if I take the last item!!
Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you enjoy your weekend!!

I am glad you had a great Thanksgiving! Love the new purse and that picture of you, Scott, and Dawson is fabulous!
Tomorrow will be the first day after Thanksgiving that I have not been shopping since I was 4! I have a much more fun day planned...having my gallbladder out at 8am! Haha! I will miss my day at the mall, but at least I will feel better soon!
Have a safe trip home!

I've been following the blog for several months now. I was so excited to hear that you are a fellow Texan, but razorback fan and live in Arkansas. I am from 30 miles east of Dallas and miss Texas so much (once a Texan...always a Texan). I graduated from U of A Fayetteville (GO HOGS!) and now live near Mtn. View,AR...tiny Ozark town. Anyway, you mentioned Flippin...anyway...your comments about Dallas were very close to my heart!
Blessings!

3. You dad's workshop is really big and nice!
4. That might be the sweetest picture of the 4 of you on the porch!

You just look so good, Kelly! I am so glad to see you enjoying pregnancy and the best days are ahead!!! I know I am naughty but I was making sounds at Benaiah and one of them, I could tell scared him. He turned his little lip down, it was so so so cute I almost died so I just had to keep doing it!!! When he let out a cry, I stopped and apologized, but I could just eat him up. We can't wait to meet little Harper and you are going to just love all this!!!

I love the bag! What the name of it? I might have to invest in one asap!
Glad you and your family had a great Thanksgiving!
PS- NO shopping for me today!

Looks as though you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
You'll probably find that you will use the purse as a purse/diaper bag, most women find that taking both a purse and diaper bag are too much to carry. Love the purse.

Your so lucky that your dad is building you a changing table and his workshop is a man's dream. I didn't show my hubby, he would want one.

I am so glad ya'll had a great Thanksgiving! I love your dad's shop, the fact that he is making your furniture (SO sweet), the picture of your precious parents, the AWESOME purse, and the fact that we share the same Black Friday views. :)

Sounds like you guys had a blessed Thanksgiving! It sounds so easy-going! I love the Christmas card picture! So cute!
No, I did not go out this morning. But I am going to brave it tonight. My sister and I are going to meet and have dinner and get some Christmas presents. {we are both pregnant, so the eating first is mandatory!!} My Charlotte needs some presents for Christmas, and her stepkiddos need some, too! Anywho. I am glad that you had a great Thanksgiving!
