Proud to be an American

I had a hot date at lunch today with this guy!

You can't read my sticker but it says "I Voted Early"
Scott and I met up on our town square (where he works) and walked over to the courthouse and voted and then walked over to a little coffee shop on the square for lunch.
I am not big into politics and I will never discuss it on here but I will urge all of you to vote! We should be thankful we have that freedom even if sometimes our choices are limited.

You all know how much I love my dog - Dawson. He seriously is the cutest dog in all the world. (I'm not biased AT ALL). Bichons make the best dogs. They are small, DON'T SHED, even tempered and they are one of the only dogs you can have if you or your children have allergies. A lady in my office just had 5 bichon puppies. They are 3 weeks old and would make a perfect Christmas gift. They are AKC registered and there are 4 girls and 1 boy. If you live in the area and are interested - please e-mail me and I can get you more info! Scott seriously wanted us to get one but I think one dog and one baby will be more than enough on our hands!

And lastly - I am so excited at how lucky I was today! I had planned to skip the last home game for the Razorbacks and Scott's dad was going to use my ticket. Well - we decided this week that we should try to find 2 more tickets so we could all go (me and Scott's mom) since I'm still in pretty good shape. So I ended up buying two tickets today that are in our same section only 9 rows down from us. So that will be perfect!

What a great day!

(Note to anonymous: I can't speak for everyone's boycott of Oprah but I personally don't watch her anymore because over the past couple of years she has stood for a lot of things I don't agree with. She also has so much influence and is leading a huge new age movement that could lead so many people astray and that bothers me. )

O-My-Word.....That puppy is darling!

If I didn't already have 3 dogs I would be ready to hang a "SOLD" sign around that sweet puppy's neck!!

Hope your Dad skips this blog for today! He'd want him too!

Hi, Kelly,
You don't know me, but you found my blog through my sis-in-law's, Lauren Ames. I'm Molly's mom. I just wanted to take a second to thank you for praying for our family and our precious Trisomy 18 daughter. We appreciated the support, even from people we didn't know. It has been so hard without her, but we trust that God knows best and has a special plan for our family. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. We pray for Little Miss Harper (love the name!). Blessings,
Briana Mueller

I saw the blog. I saw the dogs. If they had been "Westies" I would have already on my way to get one. (Sorry mom, I can't help myself.) But then my two "old boys" would not have understood.
BTW I saw the cutest Westie in a man's truck this morning while I was pumping gas. Maybe God is trying to tell me something...

Dawson is really going to need a companion once Miss Harper gets here! Maybe God is trying to you something Kelly!

Good luck this weekend!

You are so lucky to get to vote early, I live in NY and we don't have that option here. Those puppies are so cute!! I don't know how you can resist them!

i love your blog.....you are so insightful!!! did i miss somthing? i have read the comments and so many are boycotting Oprah...What did I miss? Why the boycott..should I be boycotting?

Good for you for voting!!! I think Bichons are so adorable and I love that they don't shed (our dog is the QUEEN of shedding) but I think our old neighbors dog ruined it for Hayden because she spoiled that dog so much and it behaved so badly. She used to make her little baby walk and let the dog ride in the stroller! haha

Those puppies are adorable. A puppy would definitely be a good distraction for Dawson when the baby comes--then maybe he'd be more concerned about the other dog than Harper!

Guy and I had the same date last week after work--voting and out to eat on the square. Except we went to Station Cafe and sat outside.

I honestly had never heard of a Bichon before until I started reading your blog ;)! THEY ARE SO PRECIOUS!!!

I appreciate that you stand up for what you believe. I also am upset by the things Oprah has said and the way she leads women, in our country. Her influence is very stong. I appreciate strong women, like you, who love the Lord and can think for themselves. Thank you speaking up. I always enjoy your blog.

Thank you!!! :)

Those are the cutest little puppies!

I wish I lived closer, I would soooooooooo be interested in one of those adorable puppies!
Yay for you for voting today! I am going in the morning!

CUTE puppy!! Good thing I don't live closer or I would need to take him home for sure =-)
Oh, and I am with you on Oprah. I am dissapointed with the turn she has taken towards new age. I am no longer an Oprah watcher.

Kelly--

What a cute puppy--I agree with lots of the other posts--good thing we don't live closer because my husband would be driving me nuts with wanting one! I also wanted to let you know that I gave you a "shout-out" on my blog today so please take second to look. I hope it's okay that I linked to your blog!

I did not know there was a dog that people with allergies could handle. The NO SHEDDING really lights my fire! Those are the two reasons we have not had a dog. My MIL really, really thinks that all children should have a puppy to grow up with, so we may have to look into this...

I AM SO GLAD you're going to the game now!!!

So agree with you about Oprah. It's like she has gone off the deep end or something! But I did watch it yesterday b/c of the story about Eliot and her reaction to that story really surprised me! It really tore her up. I know she had a christian upbringing so I pray that little things Matt & Ginny's testimony will remind her of the ONE TRUE LIVING GOD!!

When I scrolled over your blog today I thought, "that puppy looks like Jackson!" It looks so much like his teeny puppy pictures! Bichons ARE the best!

Heather said...

Darling puppies! We have a Westie, so I agree with your dad...but Bishons are right up there with them!
I early voted, too, and felt so good about it!
Glad you guys got to have a lunch date! I love those with my hubby!

Kelly, I follow your blog from Angie Smith's blog. I love you! Don't really know you, but love you anyway. I am a pastor's wife, so I like to see what you write about being a PK. Just wanted you to know that I too have boycotted Oprah. Where has her head gone anyway......to the media, maybe. Anyway, if enough of us Christians take action, maybe she will see why. Praying for your and Harper. Can't wait to meet her (via cyberspace).

Kristen said...

Oh those puppies!!!! If only we lived in pet-friendly apartment... dang!
I'm glad you spread the word about voting. It's so important and I can't wait to get my chance on Tuesday!
p.s. your outift is super cute!

Amen Sister on the boycott of Oprah, her views have become dangerous.

awww...the puppies are adorable.. I wish I lived near you. I also choose not to watch Oprah ( havent watched for over 3 years now) for the same reasons as you. I really enjoy your blog and recipes. Enjoy your week and weekend to follow.

Such a pretty couple! I am looking forward to hot lunch dates on day in the future! In good time, in good time. :)

Those puppies are darling! Thank goodness I don't live in NWA or I would probably want to take home all 5.

The game will be so fun!!!

Hi Kelly' a blogless"lurker" here! Love your blog, you've been sort of a beacon of hope to us 34 year olds who have yet to become mothers, because it's just not our time yet I guess!? Anyway what is another puppy in the whole grand scheme of things? lol!! It could be worse, you could be my SIL and have 2 boxers and get pregnant and have twin boys!!!! Ha Ha! Take care! Ditto on the Oprah issue..but I did watch the segment on the couple in your town.
And..I did TiVo today's show because Marion Jones is from our area.

Oh, those puppies are precious! I am highly allergic (and I believe my girls are too), but we would love to have a dog. I've always said we would get one in a few years.

I voted early, too - praise the Lord! I love it that we can do that. It's such a breeze since we don't have to stand in lines. :)

I agree on Oprah - I'm so tempted to watch sometimes when I hear she's going to have someone on that I admire, but I've resisted. I'm so unhappy with how she's leading so many people astray.

Have a great time at the game, Kelly.

Don't you just love a good lunch date? And you looked so pretty in your red dress!
I'm glad to hear you took time to vote today...I will take my turn on Tuesday. (:

Hi Kelly, i don't know much about bichons but we're currently looking for a puppy/dog. how much are they? i am in love with that little, white furry face!!!!

That puppy is SO CUTE!

I haven't watched Oprah in over a year and that's the exact reason.

I'm glad y'all are going to the game on Saturday. The weather's supposed to be nice!!

Those puppies are adorable... don't you think you need to be potty training a puppy at the same time as getting up 3 or 4 times a night???

Yay for voting ... and slipping in a date with the hubby!

I just showed Bryan these dogs and I nearly had him persuaded. Perhaps if he had not been working with dog issues this past weekend, we would be on our way to NW AR.

Don't you love having lunch with your man? I love having lunch dates with Bryan. I'd even settle for a dinner date!! :)

I loved the sparkly chori formal! Cute!! Really. From previous posts I had something way more crazier in mind. Likes stripes or feathers or ruffles.

I agree completely with you about Oprah. I have completely stopped watching her to pretty much for the same reasons as you have. I do miss Dr. Oz though. When he was on her show those would be the ones I would always make the time to watch - oh well! My convictions were certainly too heavy.

The puppies are too cute. I may have to look for one of those around here especially since you said they do not shed. My middle daughter would love to have a puppy, but I just do NOT want to have to deal with the shedding thing!

Good for you for voting!

Please email me with more puppy info. We are thinking about getting the kids a puppy for Christmas. We live in your area.

They are too adorable!!

Oh come on Kelly, Dawson needs a playmate. They are too cute.

Oprah has disappointed me also. I use to watch her all the time and the past few years it has been hit and miss with me. I totally agree with what you have to say about her.

Amanda said...

I'm really disappointed in Oprah! But, tis' the world we live in. People will follow anyone! On the politics issue, you are right. VOTE!

Those puppies are so adorable. Wish I lived closer to get one! Thanks for the reminder to vote- think the hubby and I are going tomorrow!! By the way, I like the necklace you have on - where did you get it? Have a great Thursday!

I am not a big Oprah fan, but I think its easier to bash Oprah while still supporting shows like Ellen where she pushes the gay agenda.

LeeAnn said...

Amen on Oprah. Our world is so crazy right now!
I can't wait to vote!

MEGAN said...

I love that we have the freedom to vote! And thanks for not sharing your political beliefs! It's a sensitive subject for a lotta people. I grew up in a home where that information was private, and I treat it that was as an adult now.

Hey, they didn't give out "I voted early" stickers here! Ha! That puppy is so cute! We want to get another dog, but our neighbor has seven...Yes, I said SEVEN! And they are ALWAYS at our house day and night (or at least a few of them)! So I think we'll wait a little while...

Hi Kelly. I have followed your blog after seeing it on Angie's. I think you are totally adorable. I love how you make everyone feel like they have known you forever. I am so excited for you and your husband. Harper will be one loved little girl. I am loving her room. We used pink and brown in our nursery and it is one of my favorite rooms in the house. I am very interested in the puppies. Do you live in Nashville?
