Five Years

Tomorrow - Scott and I will celebrate five years of marriage.
I can't imagine anyone in the world I'd rather share my life with. We didn't plan to be married 5 years before starting our family but I'm kind of glad God gave us this time to be alone together. We have travelled a lot (Hawaii 3 times, a cruise, Gulf Shores, Las Vegas, Los Angeles), we've changed jobs, moved houses, gone to countless Razorback games, made a lot of wonderful couple friends, become active in our church, spent time with family and both lost grandparents, laughed and cried together. I treasure all the time we have spent as a couple and now I'm so excited we are about to become a FAMILY of three!
I love Scott more today than I did that day I walked down the aisle in my wedding dress. I imagine I'm going to love him even more when I see him holding our daughter and how much he is going to love her. I also know that in 30 years - I will look at him and love him even more than I do now. I told Scott the other day (and I'm pretty sure I was crying) that all the dreams I had for myself to be married and be a mother in my 20's - all the things I prayed sooooo hard for - are now coming true and I can't imagine being any happier than I am right now.
IT HAS ALL BEEN SO WORTH THE WAIT!
God has been SO GOOD to me!
"I have found the one whom my soul loves" Song of Solomon 3:4

One of the happiest days of my life was the day I not only gave you to Scott to be his wife, but also having the privilege of pronouncing you husband and wife. From the first day I met Scott I knew he would make you a wonderful husband. There is no greater joy a father can have than to see his children find the special person the Lord intends them to spend their life with. Of course my greatest joy will come in January when I get to hold my precious grandaughter in my arms. What incredible joy it will be to look at the fruit of yours and Scott's love and say, "Harper, Jesus loves you."

Sweet does not begin to cover it, and I am so excited for ya'll - on five years, on what a Godly couple you are together, and on the wonderful blessing of that sweet Harper Babe.

Such an amazing testimony to how God brings people together for His purpose and so He will be honored through the blessings He gives. I love it!

Happy Anniversary! (and I love all the pictures, too!)

Congratulations on 5 years of marriage!!

I have been secretly reading your blog for a couple of months now and just adore you!! :) I love following your pregnancy and today went back to read about the times you were trying to conceive. What an awesome story! It just took faith in God and His timing. My husband and I have a 4 yr old little boy named Andon. He'll be 5 next Tuesday. We have been trying to get pregnant since he was 2 and have been unsuccessful. We tried medicine and had IUI done twice. But really decided to stop all of that. The Dr. just told us to go home and relax. So, i'm doing pretty good at that. I definately have my sad days though.
Anyways, I just wanted to say "hey".. Wish I lived closer so we could get together! :)

Happy Anniversary, Kelly! We were married 5 years before Connor was born and I am SO thankful for that time God gave us. His timing is always perfect.
Hope you have a great time celebrating tomorrow! So many fun times ahead!
And I cried at what your Dad wrote, too. You have a precious family....such a reflection of the love of Christ for all of us.
Happy Halloween!

Congrats!!! Thank you for that sweet story. If you had asked me 4 years ago, I thought I would be married now with a child, but sometimes things don't work out the way we hope. Your story gives me comfort that God has a plan for me, one that is better than my own.

Congratulations and Happy Anniversay! When I look back on all the things I thought I would do in my 20's that I didn't do until my 30's I am really glad....I think I appreciate them much more now than I would have then and I wouldn't change them for the world.

Oh, Kelly, you made me cry! Words just can't express how happy I'm for you both. It's even sweeter that you so often give God the glory for His blessings. You're a beautiful couple... and will be an even more beautiful FAMILY!

What a beautiful post! I thought I was going to cry reading your sweet post...but I held it together. But the gates opened up when I read your dad's comment! What a sweet sweet family you have. It makes me miss my parents so much more!

Congratulations, the two of you are so blessed and deserve the best that life has to offer.

Let me just tell you that your marriage is going to change when Miss Harper arrives and it will change for the BETTER. Believe it or not, you will fall deeper in love with your husband (if you ever imagined that possible). There is no greater joy in the world than watching your spouse love and be a good parent to your children. I will never forget the 2nd night we had Emma at home, I laid in bed and cried telling my husband how much more I loved him after we went through the experience of having Emma together. There is nothing like it in the world. It is just simply amazing. I love the way my husband loves Emma and I would not change anything about it if I could.

Thank you for sharing and may God continue to bless you, your marriage and your family of 3!

Here is one of the reasons to love your mate even more after you have children: he is the ONLY person that loves my children as much as I do...what a bond to share!

I couldn't have hand-picked a better husband for you than Scott!
We love and respect him and are so happy he's your hubby and the father to our beautiful little Harper!!

Hi Kelly,

Congratulations! I read your blog all the time and posted here before.
We don't know each other but I feel like we have so much in common! Scott and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on July 16th. We have a wonderful 5 years of getting know each other. We traveled a lot too (Colorado, Grand Canyon, California, Las Vegas, Poland) and I got a great job....Now we are trying to start a family and are hoping for a baby soon! We don't have a dog, so maybe that's different.
I always look forward to read your blog. It gives me hope...
Enjoy your Anniversary Weekend!

Happy anniversary K and Big D!! Seems like only yesterday we were in our WONDERFUL brown dresses getting ready to watch you walk down the aisle. It was such a great weekend! I want to go back and visit that part of the state sometime. Maybe I'll go with you and Harper one of these days! :) I'm so glad God has blessed your life so much with a wonderful husband, perfect baby, and of course, Dawson! You're the best! Love you!

Happy Anniversary! I can absolutely relate to you on the plans being different than the reality - We started trying for a baby immediately after getting married - 7 years ago. We have stopped and done some other things medically, but hope to start again just after Harper's due date... so I pray that all this work has gotten us ready for God's timing for the start of our family too.

Enjoy your anniversary!
