26 week update

I'm 26 weeks (and a day)
Harper is the length of an English cucumber - now ya'll that is long!
I wanted ya'll to see that VERY rarely - I do wear pants! :-)

I received the sweetest e-mail from Kara last week that meant so much to me and this week she sent me these two precious onesies. You can't tell in the picture - but that is pink writing and I'm thinking I'm going to make a cute little pink tutu that she can wear with these. That one on the left could not be more true - I cried when I saw it!
One of my friends I grew up, Kathy Estes, sent me a package today also. She made me two of the neatest scrapbook albums. I can't believe all the time and effort she put into making these for me!
Dawson was excited to see he even got his own page!
Isn't this so cute???? Scott kept saying "She MADE this? She MADE this?" (It's obvious he has never seen me do anything this crafty). This was such a thoughtful gift that meant so much to me. I can't wait to fill it up with pictures of my girl!
Does your neighborhood play the "boo" game?

I've always heard of neighborhoods playing but last night I opened up the front door before bed to let Dawson take a last minute potty break and there was a bag filled with candy on my doorstep. I have to take that ghost picture and put it near my door or in a window to mark that I've been "boo'd" and then make 2 copies of the instructions and the ghost and 2 little Halloween goodie bags and drop them off at any 2 houses that haven't been "boo'd" tonight after dark. So fun! I've got to get my bags fixed so I can take them tonight. You don't know who does it to you. Scott's already been digging into the candy we got!

Well - I gotta scoot - It's 7 and I haven't even cooked dinner. Luckily I've discovered the fine art of fast and easy stir fry! :-)

P.S. A lot of you are asking so here is the poem that goes on the instruction sheet - You can type it up and decorate with pumpkins to make it festive! You could just go on-line and find a picture of a ghost and use that as what you pass out if you are going to get this started!

The phantom ghost has come to town,

To leave you some goodies, I see you have found.

His wish is for participation for all,

so continue this greeting, the "phantom" call.

Make 2 treats, 2 phantom's and 2 notes like this.

Deliver them to neighbors who may have been missed.

Don't let them see you, be sneaky, be quick.

Your neighbors are sure to enjoy this Halloween trick!

Post this Phantom Ghost where it can be seen,

And leave it on a window or door until Halloween.

This will scare other phantoms who may wish to visit.

We want to spread the treats so all will get it.

You have only one day to act - so be quick!

Leave them at doors where the Phantom hasn't hit.

Deliver at dark when there is no light......

Ring the doorbell and run out of sight!

And last, but not least, come join the season,

It's all to be neighborly and no other reason.

Be cool, have fun, and remember don't be seen........

Let's share in the fun of Halloween!

What a precious scrapbook. That is a very thoughtful gift. I've never heard of the boo game.

Adorable gifts. The scrapbooks are beautiful, a lot of time and love went into making them. I make them for all of my girlfriends, one page for each month until the first birthday.

We have Boo'd for years, it's the highlight of Halloween for my girls. My youngest daughter, now 8, went to school when she was 3 and told her teacher at her Baptist academy "we went boozin' last night". That was a fun one to explain!

Our packages, in the very same bags that you received, are lined up and waiting for tomorrow night. We always ring the bell and run, like playing ding-dong-ditch as kids, I swear that stuff never gets old!

Have fun on your trip out, lucky for you you get to be the driver not the runner this year.

adorable onsies. With all the stuff you are getting you will not need any baby showers at all. (ha ha ha)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the scrapbooks.
What a cute idea (The Boo game) I have never heard of it. Such a fun idea for a neighborhood. Enjoy playing and the goodies.

You look great! I can't wait to "meet" little Harper either! :) I can't believe you are almost in your third trimester! That is crazy!

My mom and her co-teachers at school play the "boo" game, but they do it on their classroom doors. Isn't that fun?! Hey, if you still have a copy of the instructions and the ghost picture, would you email it to me? I would love to start that in my neighborhood! :)

Isn't it fun to finally start to really look pregnant? And, you look like you're feeling much better today. :)

Those gifts are the best! Kathy is so talented, I went to a 24 hour crop night that she put on once and I promise seeing some of her pages made me want to quit! I try and sometimes my pages look ok to me, but hers were ALL SO GOOD!!!!!! Maybe she could give me lessons! Those are just precious. And the onsies are too. I like the idea of the tutu...

What a wonderful idea - being "boo'd"! Halloween has never been a big thing in South Africa, but I see the shops are marketing it big time! I just LOVE seeing all the beautiful fall colours and the pumpkins have to be my best!!

Wow your scrapbooking friend did a great job!!! I love, love, love the onesies, and I think the idea of making your little girl a tutu is precious! I love the boo game. It is so much fun! We live in a small town, so we did it to our neighbors but also to some of our friends. It was great to sneak up to our friends houses after dark and my kids to put their candy out and "boo" them. They LOVED it and so did I:) Even my hubby thought it was lots of fun. Hope your stir fry was good!

Hi Kelly,

First of all, let me just say that your growing tummy is precious! Isn't it amazing to know how big Harper is getting? I loved being pregnant!

Secondly, I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your thinking of us following the loss of Chris' dad. It certainly wasn't unexpected, but it's hard, nonetheless. Still, we find great comfort in knowing that his suffering has finally come to an end and he's in Heaven now.

Take care!

YES, my neighborhood "Boo"s each other every Halloween. I LOVE it.

The first year I was out of town, and Jason didn't know what it was, so we were booed several times. It was funny.

I'm already getting my together! Have fun with it.

That's really cute stuff! Our office used to "Boo" but with the new CEO "oppression" has set in and they have eliminated all Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas festivities that we are so used to enjoying. They also just laid off over 70 employees and have taken away our Internet privileges. Pray for our HR department, things are getting tough to handle around here! I also just heard that they might be switching our insurance, which is NOT good since I'm in the middle of pregnancy and just simply shouldn't change doctors! However, I never thought of Booing in the neighborhood, that's a GREAT idea!!! :)

Kara said...

Oh Kelly you look WONDERFUL as always! How exciting that Harper is that LONG now!! She will be there in your arms before you know it! I'm soooo glad you liked the onesies. I saw the answered prayers one and immediately thought of you. I think the tutu would be adorable too! For anyone interested I got them at www.faithbaby.com-they are a great small company based in California that sell Christian items for baby. They have lots of different little items and their service is superb. So happy you liked them and those scrapbook albums are AMAZING!! I wish I was that crafty!
God Bless!

Love the onesies and the scrapbook. You get the sweetest gifts.

Love you comment about the cucumber. Just wait until she arrives. You will look at her for the 1st week - month - and think... "Did you really come out of my tummy?" :)

Katie said...

Those albums are beautiful! And, oh my goodness, I just assumed that the pages inside would be blank...but she even made pages for you! What a sweetheart she must be! They're beautiful!

The boo game...how cute!

Oh, and you had asked about my due date...it's April 24th...and that is just 3 days after Amelia's 2nd birthday. It wasn't planned that way, funny how that worked out! It'll be quite the birthday present for Miss Amelia Kate...I hope she likes it...haha!

We did the "Boo" thing in our old neighborhood--it was fun! Maybe I should start it on our street!?

The scrapbook/album that you received is super super SUPER cute--wow! Are you out of room in your nursery yet and H isn't even here yet!?!?! :) If so, what a wonderful problem to have!

Love your update--I look forward to it every week! You look beautiful--you're a great pregnant gal!

Amy said...

You look SO GOOD! And little Miss Harper is getting so big! I LOVE the tutu idea - just perfect with those onesies! And I love the scrapbook, too. I'm good at BUYING, not making!

We're military, and the Boo game always makes it around whatever post we're stationed. My older kids really get into it: running back to the house all out of breath after ringing the doorbell and then sneaking over later to make sure the Ghost has been put up. Lots of fun (not to mention candy!!)!

MEGAN said...

The pants looks great, they're very flattering. I love to wear dresses...but to wear them often, I'd have to shave my legs way more than I do : )

Julie said...

You are getting so many neat gifts! I love the onesies. I hope those are still around by the time we get a child. Those are adorable and aren't they both so true!!

I cannot wait to see what the nursery looks like. The colors are fabulous together.

Have fun booing your neighbors!!

You look great! I love, love, love the scrapbook your friend made you...yes, that is alot of work. I am so behind on mine, but I plan to catch up before the new baby gets here. Can not wait to see pictures of the Nursery...Harper will be here soon, only 13 more weeks. I am getting ready for Nursery Share on Friday...I am going to figure it out, if it takes me all night. You have to read my blog from today...and you will totally understand. Have fun with the BOO game.

Thanks for sharing such a cute idea. What a great way to spread some Southern hospitality way up north! my little ones LOVED sneaking around after dark tonight :)

Kelly, you are too funny...I was like what, who is Meagan? I thought to myself did I post under the wrong blog or has Kelly been using a fake name (ha)? Oh, I think if anyone can make it happen with Angie...you can make it happen. I posted on her blog, so we will see what she says about it. I think it would be the best thing EVER! I would drive, fly or come by boat if that is what I had to do to get there. Perhaps we could all bring our babies and just sit around and nurse and talk about the LORD! That is my kind of fun and will be yours too very soon ~ it will be better than Church Camp as a kid! I believe you could make it happen in due time. Oh, I would be so INSPIRED.
