45 more days.......................................

I started off my morning by a large exchange of e-mails between Scott, our friend Guy, and our friend Mike (and me) concerning a recent speaking engagement for our old departed coach and Ole Miss. There is no love lost between him and these guys so they were enjoying mocking the article that was written about it. These e-mail exchanges go on constantly during football season. And I love them! I love our Sunday School class in the fall - because there is always a lot of football discussion before we start our lesson and because there are several teams represented in our class from the SEC - there is a lot of good ribbing going on.
Then I clicked over to Boomama's blog and I have been laughing at all the SEC rivalry going on at the beach in FL.
This is the south. We love us some football and we have strong rivalries with the other teams in the SEC. It's almost my favorite time of the year and I'm counting down the days.

Do you have a favorite college team and are you excited for football to start?

I love football season!!! My hubby is a coach at Missouri, so naturally, we HAVE to cheer for them...but I graduated from LSU..so I secretly bleed purple and gold (though I dont flaunt that here!!!) it makes it alittle easier that we are the Tigers here at MIZZOU too...so I just say I am rooting for the Tigers, and no one knows that it is secretly the LSU ones!!!

Oh yes I have a favorite team. Sadly, I will probably be at home with the Prince rooting my hogs on over the radio or tv during most of the games this season.

Can't wait to see what Petrino will do! And, oh how I can't wait to beat the snot out of Ole Miss!!!

Okay now you are talking my language. I am a HUGE Nebraska Corn Husker fan, yes I know, I know that haven't been very good for like a long time, but it goes back a long way, but they are the reason I dig football so much. Also Mizzou Tigers ~~ Go Tigers ~~ I am a Missouri girl after all!!! :)

We are huge Oklahoma Sooners fans. I'm a native Arkansan and hubby is a native Texan so we decided to meet somewhere in the middle. ;) We are counting down the days til' the season starts!!!

Oh and the Razorbacks are our next favorite...hard place to be here among all of our LSU friends! I'm very excited to see what Petrino will do.

I say Go Gators!
My Husband says Go Noles!
We both went to UCF and cheer for the Knights when they play.

Of course I have a favorite football team!!! We love THE University of Oklahoma Sooners!! BOOMER!!! SOONER!!!! I absolutely cannot wait until the college football season starts. If we are not at a home game, I love to stay home, veg out, and watch college football on ESPN and ABC!!! I love to watch a football game with my husband! He paces almost the entire time!!!

I will pull for the Razorbacks when I can!!!!

Heather said...

Is football the sport where they bounce the ball? I'm just kidding!!! I'm loyal to my Hawkeyes, but I have no idea why. They never win, but of course, that's because most of them are in jail. What's with football players going to jail anyway??

SEC all the way! I am so biased! Maybe we will have another decent season this year. I heart Mississippi State!

My husband and I live minutes out of Baton Rouge.. I have lived here all of my life.. Then I married.. A Razorback!! Can you just imagine that. He gets ribbed so much at work but holds his own. He is all giddy cause its almost football time. He acts like a kid before Christmas. My Mom just moved from here to Arkansas... so Im not sure who she will root for. My 8yr old daughter has both cheerleading suits... Hogs/ Tigers... we will let her decide. I quietly root for the hogs... cause I love my husband that much! Take care and bless you and that bitty baby.... Susie H~

I love college football and was just telling a friend that last night! There is nothing better than a cool fall day, with my husband, watching college football from morning til night, while my pumpkin spice candles burn and apple cider sits on my stove! Oh and I'm wearing a long sleeved t-shirt and eating chili. Ahh, a perfect fall day! And I'm cheering for my Iowa Hawkeyes too...go Big 10!!

I'm a HOG fan, but I have to admit... I don't schedule my Saturdays around any games... sorry! BUT, Kale has the fever - if that scores me any points.

Ahem....

I don't think I would fit in real well with your crowd, and even the commenters on your blog!!!

We don't follow football much anymore, what with not having cable or satellite for like 11 years....

And I never went to college either....

So I guess I don't have a favorite college team....

Sorry!

We're a Big 12 Conference family, especially Texas Tech Red Raiders -- get your guns up! In fact, I told my husband we were pregnant with a little Texas Tech onesie--awwww! Only 35 more days til her due date, too. :)

Well, I went to Iowa State and we don't have the hottest football team, but I still cheer for them. And for Stephanie above, I also cheer for the Hawkeyes unless they are playing ISU. My hubby went to Oklahoma State so we love the Big 12. We live in Atlanta and are surrounded by DAWGS. And my husband also jokes that he is for any team that is playing against Tennessee.

Linda said...

Pretty much anyone playing against UT Vols is our team :) Sorry Vols fans. My husband does some part time teaching for Universtiy of Arkansas so we are planning to try to attend one of the games this year. We graduated from University of Memphis and do cheer for them but more so in basketball.
Blessings,
Linda

hi. i just found your blog tonight through just dandy. well, i have just fallen in love with it. you are adorable. i too am a southern belle. i'm from the atlanta area, and you ain't nobody 'less you went to UGA if you are from my neck of the woods. i have one uncle that went to ga tech and everyone else in the family went to uga, you can imagine what christmas and thanksgiving are like every year. they really let him have it, but he gives it right back. the only time i really enjoy football is at my hometown high school or at a georgia game.

Derek will be way excited for it to start. I like to go to one LR game and I'm good! For some reason, I always end up with my seat being next to the "drunk guy." Ha!

Love the fall! You are right nothing beats the south for some great football! We are grads of UCF (Dautne Culpepper fame) but are huge UF fans and we also enjoy ourselves some great Clemson games too! Especially now that we are looking to move up that way, it'll be good to keep our orange! ROFL

I grew up a Gator, but after getting married to a DAWG fan, my allegiance has changed. I've not been much of a football fan until we had our son 2 years ago - our son's room is red, black and white - the day we found out we were having a boy, my husband ordered UGA crib bedding - now I need to start really learning the game because I know that my husband will be encouraging our little man to eat, sleep and breathe football.
